  1. This would be my response: Skydiving is impossible to put into words but the closest I have come is “ It’s like stepping into a dream while your awake”. Personally it is the best thing I have ever felt next to sex, but skydiving is not for everyone and for those people there is always sports like golf or bowling Kirk

  3. We were down this year from years past but I would say between 150 and 200 kids. It was kind of cool the police were coming through the neighborhood with there lights on and were handing out candy too. My wife and I decorate a fair amount for halloween, I could not believe some people they would have there children walk up into the middle of our front yard and take pictures of them (I mean I would never allow my kid to walk in anyones front yard). Next year I am getting the caution tape to put up around the front yard. Kirk
  4. One possible alternative would be to take her to a windtunnel as they do not have the age issue that skydiving has. I have taken my son several times now. Kirk
  5. One possible action the Tandem manufacturer could take is to revoke the TI's rating for their gear. Kirk
  6. I would suggest the following: 1. Jump the canopy you are comfortable with. 2. If elitical or crossbrace understand and accept the added risk. 3. Pull at the appropriate allitiude for the canopy you are jumping. Personally: I jumped a Falcon 195 for my first 30 wingsuit jumps then switched to a crossfire 129 loaded 1.85 to 1. This worked great but when in line twist it would point to the ground. I would pull at no lower than 4000 AGL with this canopy to give time to deal with the extra issues. Later on I switched to my now VX 109 and found that even in line twist this canopy would fly straight ( in the about 12 line twist opennings on this canopy, I only had 1 point to the ground for only 1 revealution before straighting out). I understand and accept my only option if the canopy is spiralling to the ground is to chote it( and I prepare for that eventuallality every wingsuit jump) Kirk
  7. Really? My first rating was Strong and I jumped them for 3 years, my home DZ switched this year to Sigma. After jumping both systems I feel (in my humble opinion) that the Sigma is a better, safer system. Kirk
  8. This is a no brainer, get the rating for the main system used at your DZ. Yes, I agree that IMHO Sigma rules but that rating would do no good at a DZ that uses mainly Strong rigs. Kirk
  9. Finding life insurance for a skydiver is an issue but there are less expensive policies that have very few exclusions. I pay $40 a month for $150,000.00 through a company Great West. Outside of suiside they have no excusions. Kirk
