  1. Rarely used, yes. Never used...nope. I've seen carbon arc used on demolition sites. But, for the sake of argument, we'll say "never" and stick with oxy-fuel. 2. You are correct...neatness does count but in a different way from when the cutting is being done to prep for joining. In the case of clearing the debris at ground zero the objective was to get it cut and out of the way. Whether it had slag left on the cut, whether the was square, etc. was not a priority of any kind. Leaving slag is not unusual (I don't give it a second thought during demolition) at all and can in no way be interpreted as meaning the steel was not cut by oxy-fuel or carbon arc, let alone being indicative of sabotage. On the contrary, it provides proof that it was cut using a torch. Slag clinging to the bottom of a cut that was made with the torch in a horizontal position is normal. Thermite/thermate cutting leaves huge amounts of slag and dross, much more than what is shown in the picture. That's not even mentioning the enormous amounts of thermite that would be needed to cut a section like that. What the people who post that picture as some kind of "evidence" of thermite/thermate don't tell you is that the column in that picture is one of many that were torch cut during recovery and cleanup. I can't remember where but i have seen pics of entire rows of columns that are cut just like that one, all by a man with a torch post-collapse. 5. If I was able to see a close up of the cut I could tell you exactly what was or wasn't used to cut this steel. But by the amount of slag still left pn the steel im willing to bet it wasn't cut using oxy-fuel or carbon arc. These processes tend to blow the slag away from the cut, not let it run down the side of the steel being cut. In the hands of a skilled operator trying to keep things tidy very little slag would be present. But when the goal is to severe the sections as fast as possible, and neatness doesn't count, I would expect there to be plenty of slag just as is pictured. 6. Both of which would be a substandard weldment and would not pass QC Some undercutting is usually allowed. AWS, ASME, etc. all specify how much. Also, depending on the design, a weld fillet can be specified as concave, flat, or convex. How concave or convex is called out in the weld specifications. 7. Yes, it appears to have been cut with either an oxy-fuel torch or a carbon arc torch. There was a lot of that going on after the buildings came down to facilitate recovery attempts and cleanup. 8. Close enough on the change to austenite. However, if failure occures near a welded region it is not because of the HAZ since in most cases all regions of the HAZ will have been nearly all austenized. Failure in the weld area would be caused by discontinuities in the cross section of the weld, i.e. undercutting. Excessive weld bead can also lead to stress concentration at the toe of the weld. 911 conspiricy theorists ignore the fact that steel only needs to get to a few hundred degrees C to lose a major portion of it's strength. 9. oh oH Oh OH what happens to steel at 700C/1250f? We heated up some structural steel at work to try and stress relieve it and straighten it..... wanna guess how hot it got? wanna know what happened??? I would love to here your theory because it sure didnt do what our imagineer thought it would do Of course us welders who actually apply these theories know different Let's see...it got to whatever temperature you heated it to. Tell me what the steel was, sizes, weld procedure, joint design, etc. plus the temp you heated it to and I'll tell you what happened. I know what happens to steel at 700C. I imagine Bill does and I know Kallend does. Probably several others here as well. Are you one of them? 10. As you wish. People here have tried to help you understand but you choose ignorance over facts. BTW, I asked you a question a long, long time ago that you never acknowledged. I'll ask again. Do you know what happens to steel at app. 700 degrees C? If you don't you can't possibly pose an intellgent argument against those who do when the collapse of the towers and #7 are concerned. HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  11. O.k. here is there answer; http://911debunkers.blogspot.com/2009/04/steven-jones-tells-911-debunkers-to-put.html UNLESS AN OBJECTOR ACTUALLY PUBLISHES HIS OR HER OBJECTION IN A PEER-REVIEWED ESTABLISHED JOURNAL (yes that would include Bentham Scientific journals), THEN THE OBJECTION IS NOT CONSIDERED SERIOUS IN THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY. YOU SHOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT NON-PUBLISHED OBJECTIONS EITHER. Your debunkings are simply conjured up and have no scientific value. First the scientific method should be used and then conclusion drawn. Conclusions come at the end of a scientific experiement, not the beginning. Sorry to disappoint you, but I did not produce, edit, post or otherwise involve myself with those videos. Are you EVER going to answer the question as to whether you think lack of fire shooting out the windows means no fire? If you, or any of your idiot friends, knew anything at all about the use of explosives to bring down a building you would know that there is a substantial delay from when the charges go off until the structure noticeably starts to collapse. The puffs of dust/smoke coming from the windows as the structure was failing were caused by air pressure from the collapse, not any charges or detonations. People who work with these products and services for a living have stated that over and over, yet you and the rest of the uneducated self-professed "experts" believe the laws of physics were broken that day and claim sabotage. As far as experiments first, conclusion last....you are absolutely correct! :) So why don't you practice what you preach? You want there to have been a conspiarcy by the US government and so you twist fact, ignore facts and simple laws of physics, and proclaim what you want to believe is the truth. Problem for you is this: 99.9% of the world is smart enough not to believe you. 12. What i see and is clearly pointed out is the almost 'symmetrical' explosions blasting out the windows, immediately prior to the 'symmetrical' collapse. There is no sign of a raging fire, there were fires in the buildings and conveniently in the sections where inportant documents such as the enron case and other debarcles were held. It fell in 4.5 seconds and straight down, the core fell before the outer core, and there is not a fire to be seen from that angle just before the collapse. If fire was the reason, would there not be at least some traces of a inferno? at least, or do core columns simutainously give way due to random fires often? Every one of your concerns has been answered with facts many times over. Since you refuse to believe facts and instead prefer the opinions of idiots, why not ask them? HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  13. Why don't you answer the question? Do you think because there are no flames shooting out the windows there is no fire? Well? 14. It doesn't help your cause when you post video of a quack as "evidence". Every question you asked in your post to me has been addressed many times over. You refuse to accept any explanation that is logical and instead believe quacks on YouTube U. Quacks who are laughing their asses off at idiots who believe anything they say as long as it backs up the idea that 911 was an inside job. 18. Wow what a bunch of profound substanciated comments, I suppose the subject isn't that importants so making jukes about it is O.k. It not like the lie has been the cause of mass murder of americans, iraqis andand afghanis, it's not like it was an act of treason and has affected global security and laws, it's not like you guys are a bunch of lemmings... It is about time you all woke up from your dreamworld, you life is about to get ugly over the next decade. You will look back and wonder what it might have been like if you had grown a backbone and questioned the bullshit you are fed on a daily basis. You call us lemmings because we reached a logical conclusion using the evidence gathered. You consider yourself to NOT be a lemming though you blindly follow false prophets whose ideas fly in the face of physical laws and logic. Who is being lied to and made a fool of? I'll give you a hint....look in a mirror. 22. Or pay for quality meat-you guys don't want to be around when I cook a pig-I kill it the way it prepares best. At one of my hog roasts we had a guy up in arms after I convinced him the hog was put on the spit and over the coals while still alive. Some folks will believe anything. 23. OK, please comment on this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL6gnMHK53k As effective as the stun guns are, they are also operated by humans who make mistakes. The examples shown in the vid are RARE! They could be the result of the plant using a less popular stun gun that does not penetrate the brain and relies far more on operator skill to render the animal unconscious. Sorry to say, it happens. Good news is this: If you can find a way that is 100% effective you will retire a very wealthy person. The killing floor is a dangerous place to work for the very reasons shown in the vid. Slaughter houses would pay well for a method that would dispatch the animal quickly every single time and not just 99.5% of the time. 24. Even if it were true.....so what? There are Christian churches all over the middle east where the crisades wiped out hundreds of thousands in the name of religion. Besides, it wasn't Islam that brought down the towers. It was 19 asshats with a messed up idea of what Islam was.
