  1. My vision of where a Mickey D burger comes from is that of an animal being fed and cared for, but by no means pampered, for 14-18 months until it is slaughtered. No TV, cushy couches, etc. It is not an exciting lifestyle, at times less comfortable than others, but without the cruelty you and others get from attending You-Tube University and reading a very biased book. My reality comes from visitng farms all across the country, not as part of any job but as an interested visiter. Like I said, I've been to HUNDREDS of farms, big and small, and it is the very rare exception that treats their stock in the manner people in this thread think they do. Stick to physics, Bill. You obviously don't know squat about farming. 2. Sorry, but you are wrong. I can understand why you would think that with all the propaganda thrown about. The vast majority of farms, including the mega-farms, treat their animals in a humane manner. It is good business sense to do so and these mega-farms are all about the dollar. 3. While keeping the slaughter area visually obscured from the inspector may be of benefit for reasons you assume, there are also reasons of practicality and law. During the initial stages of slaughter there are many things present that can cause a carcass to fail inspection if present. Hair, feces, dirt, etc. The carcass is being coninually cleaned during processing and the last thing the operators want is to have anything from the outside of the animal to end up on the fresh meat and cause it to fail inspection. Hence, separation of areas. The USDA inspector has the freedom to inspect ALL areas of the plant. Refusal to allow this can lead to the plant being shutdown indefinitly. 4. I would assume they turned him down for the same reason Michael Moore is turned away from tours and interviews. Personally, I have never been turned away. I have been to HUNDREDS of farms, stockyards, and slaughterhouses. I have seen only 2, maybe 3, that fit the description Bill gave. Yes, that is still too many. But it is no better to judge the entire industry on the misdeeds of a few than it is any other portion of society. 6. I have been to a couple places that resemble the one at Yuma you mention. Fortunately they are the exception. The vast majority of farms, large and small, take good care of their stock. They risk too much money to do otherwise. 7. I bet you had 3 cows at the most and they all had names. Bill's description is accurate. Business is business. That is a bet you would lose. Our cattle, as well as those of nieghboring farms, were an investment. Good business dictates caring for your investments. That includes proper diet, living conditions, health care, etc. Those who do not follow humane and sanitary practices do not stay in business very long. Poor care of farm animals does happen but it is the rare exception, not the rule as many would have you believe. Like i've said, don't take my word for it. Go visit a few farms and see for yourself. 8. I did. What they conveniently left out was that those cattle are ALREADY UNCONSCIOUS OR DEAD before their throat is cut. Ever hear of a captive bolt stun gun? It shoots a stainless steel rod several inches into the brain causing massive damage to brain tissue instantly. But, like I told Bill, don't take my word for it. Go see for yourself. you are looking at the wrong videos. The ones that got me going are the ones that show the throats ripped out and left to run around until they suffocate Maybe you should post a link so we are all watching the same vids. 10. Not propaganda, I don't need to talk to anyone, just look at the hidden camera shit on youtube.com and see for yourself. I did. 11. A very, VERY, small number of animals are treated this way, Bill. I was raised on a fram, my friends all were farmers, and I still visit them. I know first hand how these cattle are treated. But don't take my word for it, go visit a dairy farm yourself. 13. Old age is probably not likely for any commercial dairy cow that is not grazed on grass in a spacious relatively clean envoronment with sunshine and fresh water. Only a very small percentage of cows will have such good living conditions. I bet other complications such as weak bones and disease are higher on the list than old age! Not very familiar with the operation of a dairy farm, are ye? A cow that produces even below average quantities of milk is treated much better than most humans. Dairy cattle are VERY valuable. It is not unusal for a single dairy cow to be insured for more than you probably make in a year. 14. Before believing propaganda posted by some vegan on a mission, make a visit to or talk to someone who works at a slaughterhouse. 16. So why the difference between an AQ fighter who is fighting for what he believes is a just cause (regardless of whether we agree with him) and a serial murderer who kills just for the fun of it? 17. Psst.. he said sex offenders... they are the worst kinds of criminals....lock them up for life. We are at WAR with a certain subset of islam. They are OUR ENEMY... the people who saw off peoples heads.... I have no problem with killing those we are at war with. I dont think we could possibly shock them with the things they have done to our people... as I have said.. Do unto others as they have done to you... and those are EXACTLY the way that thousands of our people died. falling to their deaths from the WTC....Being burned to death is what happened to those people on the floors where the planes crashed into....these people ..and I use the term loosely... are at war.. and as an enemy.. need to be eradicated. They want to die for Islam.. I say help as many of them get to allah as we can.. they will do it to us if they get the chance .. I would have no problem with returning the favor. But yet you have issues with putting to death the murderers, rapists, and child molesters among us who have themselves caused untold pain, suffering and anguish to innocent victims. And you see no problem with forcing society to dole out retribution for acts you find heinous by killing those responsible. What of all the innocents killed as a consequence, either directly or indirectly, of seeking such justice and retribution? Do we just write them off as "collateral damage"? Being from a military background i am sure you are aware that no war has ever been fought that was free of any innocent people being maimed and killed. 2500 murderers responsible for 2500 murders can be fed and cared for the rest of their lives. 19 murderers and their conspirators responsible for 2500 murders are to be hunted down and killed utilizing the full force of the US military and any innocents killed as a result are CD. Got it. HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  18. Zoos are places where animals are kept for us to view, not for the segregation of ones that have proven themselves to be senseless predators of others. Those we eliminate. Care to try again? Its in those animals natures.. as predators.. so they get segregated In some human animals it is their nature to want to senselessly harm others. I think those who wish to kill other members of their own society should be permanently segregated from civilized society. In some animals it is in their nature to kill to survive. In no animal species is it in their nature to senselessly kill. Any captive, and many wild, animals that are found to kill for no sensible reason are put down. Culled out. Shot. The risk of keeping them around far outweighs any benefit. Humans are no exception. So by your reasoning ....Lets start killing all the humans that want to kill others.. Lets start by killing off all death penalty proponents.Maybe we could finally have a peaceful society. No, we kill those who senselessly kill others. Big difference from what you propose. I am just suggesting that those who wish to kill should be as in your own words..."Culled out. Shot. The risk of keeping them around far outweighs any benefit. Humans are no exception." Their desire to kill is based on senseless retribution...and in most cases have no connection to those they wish to kill at all other than what is in the local media. Maybe in some, sure. But, as for myself, the desire to kill the convicted murderers, rapists, and child molesters is to eliminate their existence so they are no threat to society at all, not even a 1/10^8 chance they can escape and prey on innocent people again. My tax dollars are better spent eliminating them, even if it costs 2-3 times as much, than to take care of them for the rest of their lives. Not all killing is senseless. Killing to protect one's self and others from a proven threat is not senseless. 22. I guess you are in the column of kill everyone for all those heinous crimes. Its the American Christian thing to do. You have not read what I would do with sexual predators have you... use the search function I think you might find it liberating. I really don't give a shit if it's the "Christian thing to do" or not. The whole idea that human life is somehow more valuable than any other creatures life is based on religeous principles. We don't hesitate to put down an animal that might be dangerous to people, yet we somehow find it repulsive to end the life of someone who tortured and killed several people. I feel no more sympathy towards murderers and rapists than I do child molesters. I force no society to execute them, society has chosen to assume the role of executioner rather than allow it's citizens to exact justice themselves. Lame excuse... Want to try again? That is your opinion, which carries no more weight than mine or anyone elses. Murderers, rapists, etc. have shown themselves to be no more than animals and deserve to be treated no better. As long as they breathe they are a threat. Eliminate their very existence and we eliminate the threat. After all, dead men rape and kill nobody. 24. Well, it's better than your version of justice where serial murderers, rapists, child molesters, etc. get three meals a day, a bed in a heated/airconditioned room, and free medical care for the rest of their life. Their victims should have been so lucky. 25. There's nothing complicated about it. When one person ends the life of other(s), why should that person get to continue to live? Why should YOU force SOCIETY ( ie all of the rest of us) to do your killing for you? That's easy. Because society won't let us do it ourselves.
