The ineptitude of private enterprise ...
Belgian_Draft replied to riddler's topic in Speakers Corner
Not really. Only since the Renaissance and even then not really until the industrial revolution. Before that the VAST majority of improvements were due to governments. The common man was simply not educated nor financed enough to be able to do much on his own. If you are talking about infrastructure, you are right. But I was talking about discovery and progress, most of which has been done by the private individual to improve their own quality of life. Sure I support some conservative ideals. I also support some Liberal ideals. I know it may be hard to understand how somebody can be independent enough to actually think on their own, but I'm sure you can if you try. Yep, three insults during three presidential terms is not worth getting all worked up about. Worth concern, sure. HAve you ever tried aroma therapy? It may help you deal with your hate in a more socially acceptable manner. The ineptitude of private enterprise ...
Belgian_Draft replied to riddler's topic in Speakers Corner
I'm willing to cut down the tree - in this case big oil - in order to preserve the orchard of capitalism. I'm just tired of hearing about "socialism is wrong because the government can't do anything right." News flash - private corporations are every bit as screwed up as government. Big oil is a branch of the tree of private enterprise. If the apple is rotten, toss it out. If the entire branch is bad, chop it off. But the tree itself has been the foundation for most of what we call progress ever since the discovery of ways to control fire. I know, how petty to think the guy you voted for called an innocent 18 yo girl, ugly. He's my hero too. Obama called an innocent 18 year old girl ugly? I'm surprised you would say such a thing. You know, one of these days you will have to start writing your own dictionary so people can understand what the hell you're talking about. I never would have suspected three instances over 9+ years would be referred to as "all the time". Pot, meet kettle. That means you are exactly what you are complaining about. Your posts show enough hate for ten people. You bitch about hate while spewing it yourself. Pot, meet kettle. Because I am not addressing every little bitch point you bring up. Don't like it? Tough. Be a big boy, suck it up, and get the fuck over it. You stated that the Repubs slammed on Chelsea "all the time", yet you only showed one instance and Amazon showed one more. Twice in 8 years. That is not "all the time" by any stretch of the imagination except, obviously, yours. You may now return to impersonating somebody of importance. Building What? How SCADs Can Be Hidden in Plain Sight
Belgian_Draft replied to rhys's topic in Speakers Corner
I think of myself as an engineer of average skills and knowledge. There are many, some here on this forum, that I would gladly defer to. If basing my opinion and assessment of a situation or event on hard data backed up by known physical laws and mathematics makes me a bigot then I am guilty as charged. BUT, when you say my methods are unscientific, you speak wrongly. My stance is supported by hard data, physical laws and mathematics. Those were used to arrive at a conclusion. You and your truther buddies, on the other hand, determine the conclusion you wish to reach, then tweak data and ignore physical laws to arrive at that conclusion. There is only one scientific method, and yours is not it. too true, watch the list grow here, the wise ones say nothing as they are not subjected to these bigoted personal attacks. Stupid peole claim to know stuff but cannot explain it, you fail to explain what is bullshit and you false assertion that I start a thread every other week on the subject is bt definition bullshit. I claim you are nothing more than a lyer and you use false data to conclude you opinion. Quite weak for someone that considers themself scientific, how about you show us your skills and prove me wrong. but i suppose you don't have time for that. Thank you for proving my point. You may stop revealing your true intellect at any time. Since i care not of the opinions held of me by people who are dumb enough to believe all the 911 truther bs, your opinion matters not. Have a nice day. -
Then I guess you conveniently ignored McCain's, "ugly as Janet Reno" remark. As for all the time, I guess occassionally is OK in your book. Nice to see you defending the Repub Party agian, you non-republican. Wasn't aware of that remark. Care to post it in it's entirety? Is that the only one you have? You did say the Repubs did it "all the time". Well. lucky, it looks like we agree on something. A president's kids should be off limits. But I would like to see some examples of your claim anybody "took shots at the Clinton's kid Chelsea all the time". My recollection is that the Clintons kept her out of the spotlight and both parties respected that. Starting a new thread every other week containing the same BS will not convince anyone here to go against common sense and the laws of physics. No matter how many times you repeat that crap, it will still be worthless dribble. Well, not totally worthless. It does serve to point out the stupid people. Not home? Rental? Census Workers enter anyways.
Belgian_Draft replied to ChileRelleno's topic in Speakers Corner
My son was a Census worker, this is how he was trained. Judging from your picture you aren't old enough to have a son who is old enough to be a census worker. When do you think we will get the . . .
Belgian_Draft replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
It wouldn't be the first time the CT's came crawling out of the woodwork. Ever hear of the Alexander L. Kielland? A very simple and preventable error by a worker during construction led to 123 deaths. But the CT's wouldn't accept the official report and said it could not have collapsed unless aided by explosives. Sound familiar? http://www.oilrigdisasters.co.uk/ Look under the menu tab "Collapse" HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit. -
Obama not being at Arlington on Monday is a not an issue. As others have pointed out there have been other Presidents to be somewhere other than Arlington on Memorial day. Some even had a good excuse. "Oh wait, he only does it to non-Republicans, my bad." Inproper use of commas. Feel better now? An unrefutable argument for Creationism...
Belgian_Draft replied to Bolas's topic in Speakers Corner
Dinosaurs. Who can argue with that? What more proof could you possibly need?? (Well, facts maybe. But those get in the way of the truth) HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit. -

You made fun of my missteaks. I'm gonna go pout and whine and cry and call people names and...and...and..and I'm gonna take my ball wiff me. Oh, wait...I'm not lucky so I don't have to do that. Gee, you were having fun until you stepped in it by spell-Naziing and then fucking up like Ron. Oh and calling me an ass is acceptable, just not the other way around. Gee, some people just can't get the gist of a thread. People were/are poking fun at others' spelling/grammer errors. Understand? You're like the little boy who can't dance, so when everybody else is dancing he runs around pushing and shoving people to disrupt their fun. Go back to watching Matlock and impersonating some sort of legal/aircraft/financial/political/fill-in-the-blank expert. Yeah, right. And I built the shuttle Atlantis by myself. People were/are having fun in this thread. You can either join us or be an ass and try to ruin everybody elses fun. Your choice. Two things that really irk me: 1) The improper use of their, there, and they're. I know it is somewhat anal but darn it all it is such an easy concept to grasp. 2) People who write, "I could care less" when what they REALLY mean is "I couldn't care less". On the ground, left of the trailer, it looks like marks left by a sliding tire. My guess is the driver, for whatever reason (alcohol? never!), drove up to the ramp too fast and couldn't get whooed up in time. I'd say that it is real, not Photoshopped. So....which excuse are you going to rely on for the missuse of the word "their"? irregardless of that, why did you misspell misuse? I figured since everybody was correcting everybody else by using sentences with mistakes.....
