  1. how thick was my question : HOW MANY JUMPS DOES THE GEAR HAVE ? do you mean to tell me that your old-ass Javelin has 11 jumps like your newer Sabre2 ? And that your 1990 reserve has ?????????? rides ? If you want to get answers, please provide the information needed to base the answers on. If you want to be lazy, be ready to sell real cheap. It is really that simple.
  2. I call big fat BS on this Mr. Will. I have done biz with Serg for last few years and come to know the person well. I have also talked to him numerous times about his transaction he had with you and he has told me what I believe is a complete story. Why don't you instead tell us how is it that the staff at SDNM had to help the seller recover the parachute that you sold him ? How is it that you seized all communication with him, but still continued to log into DZ.com ? all things alleged. naturally :)
  3. SabrE CyprEs how many jumps ? What options does the container have ? How good of a condition is the stuff in ? All those make a huge difference in pricing.
  4. it's quite rare you will see a Twin Otter pilot bail or even carry a parachute...
  5. Based on my experience it will be a nice easy fit.
  6. seems like the person is real http://www.google.com/search?q=661-839-7577&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=L07&filter=0 That obviously does not make you any less screwed. He does have an active listing on Craiglist, just a few days old, so it's possible he has switched to a new email address, or is just ignoring you. Send him an anonymous email to his craislist ad from a different account with a generic question. see which address he responds from.. good luck and let the bastards rot.
  7. I doubt there are many who have packed an OP160. but ... I have an RSK1 which I had a Tempo120 in TIGHT w/o an AAD. I now pack a OP126 w/ Cypres2 and it's a great fit. just one data point....
  8. I make a few longer than needed ones at a time (single pin) and hang them for a night with some weight. Essentially I end up with a few pre-stretched ones.
  9. as a sidenote, I got tired of cutting away the crossfire and got a spectre with dacron lines. I still regard it as the best decision of this year. Though, I did cutaway the Spectre a few weeks ago, on a non-wingsuit jump. weird....
  10. I echo everything that had been said. To re-iterate why I suggested his home DZ Master Rigger, is because he lists Pepperell where Don Mayer runs Parachute Shop which I personally consider a first class operation.
  11. yes, it can be adjusted. As it's the HARNESS, not the container that does not fit. If you have a unysin harness, which means it has both chest and hip rings, it may be a real easy fix of just shortening your MLW and/or legstraps/pads. I suggest you contact Mirage or your local Master Rigger as your home DZ has a pretty damn good one. Blue Skies
  12. Seeing a few cans of smoke and the constant rotation, were you making a barber pole ?
  13. The manufacturer says Reserve 143-150 Main up to 150 ZP link http://www.sunpath.com/sizchart.htm
  14. you are on the very edge of the A14 harness, depending on your build, it may be a ltitle tight, but still usable. As far as $2600 pricetag- depends heavily on the DOM of the gear. If it'sa modern Javelin Odyssey with a modern PDR143 and a Sabre2-120, then it's a good price, otherwise depending on the vintage it may be an ok deal to a overpriced gear.
  15. With that info I can tell you that it's very unlikely that the gear is from the US. you could ask him for the pictures of the data card, and outside of the container. That can tell a great deal.
  16. And slinks. and "some sort of links". slinks or rapide links.
  17. Just for the record it's not "your" or "his" territory until the DZO says so. Self-made concessions get you kicked off the DZ, unless you are willing to give the DZO a hefty cut.
  18. Here's the thing. DZ is a for profit business. No matter how good you are, after having packed for a few weeks, you are not good enough for others to be told to pound salt by the DZO. If you come from a 182 operation the DZO probably has a lot of shit to handle as he is not used to the sudden upscale. if you are on good terms with the DZO talk to them and see if you can get some sort of seniority. Or just get better and get the fun jumpers for fast and easy sport repacks.
  19. I wanted to ad that I personally like paypal as it's instant and affords protection to both the buyer and the seller. I never insist on Wire transfer or Western Union, but if the buyer offers it, I am happy to accept. Being diverse and amicable to solutions goes a long way when you are peddling things that only .000000000001% of the world wants :)
  20. are those "pack job hogs" a lot more experienced in packing tandems, just a different system ? Could it be that those new-to-the-DZ packers just need a few cycles to learn how to close a new to them system ? (I am guessing if they are so confused they must come from a Racer DZ). Is it possible that your DZ tandem turn volume has went up recently and you guys aren't able to handle it with the current staff of packers ? - i.e. could you be from a 182 DZ that just got a turbine for the weekends ? And for the safety nazi part - are you a rigger ? Just some guesses.
  21. and that is the most ignorant statement of the year. WU is a bulletproof service - if you use it right. And obviously it's only bulletproof for the person receiving the money. I bet those of you saying that it's a scam don't even know how it works. Imagine that Encreedy is the seller and Europeanjumper is the buyer. Now Europeanjumper sends Encreedy $1400USD via WU. Gives Encreedy the MTCN (money transfer control number). Encreedy goes to a WU office, and gets the cash. AFTERWARDS he sends the gear to Europeanjumper. HOW IS THIS A SCAM ??? For those of you still in the dark, the way WU scams work is by either sending you fake WU money orders and asking to ship the product, or by sending you a fake money order and asking to WU the amount overpaid. As a buyer, you can just get scammed by sending the $$$ to an unknown entity and not getting anything back and having no recourse. Fuck the ignorance.
  22. safest way to approach an international gear sael is to get paid via wire transfer or Western Union. If they are questioning the gear itself, you can have one of the big gear dealers in your area mediate for a fee. It's not like Florida is not full of well known shops/Dropzones :)
  23. Nothing is funny about someone going in. But I never said that it is. You are reading what's not written. What's funny is that the person suggested that the round should not be BASE jumped from a bridge, whereas that would be the safest place to use it from.
  24. I don't believe Strongs were not subject to mesh problems. I bet it's the older one with large hole mesh as well. also, the acid mesh was not "introduced" until the 80's. But good idea to do the pH test just for the sake of it. Also a better idea is to do a pull test.
