Hi QuoteI'm sure you know who Mr Maddoff Sr is, some people may even remember watching the video of Bernie spouting the same line of BS of how highly regulated wall st is and no way can anyone beat the system, before he got caught. I'm not a experienced investor , or work on wall st. like you are but I know the way the federal gov't works. Care to explain to the people in this forum about the duty of the "compliance officer" employed by the firms on wall st. Does Goldman Slacks have one of those? Who pays his salary? Then explain to us how Enron got away with their BS at the expense of the widows and orphans in Cal, and their lower level employee's. Have a nice day

So what's with these record numbers of military suicides?
Krip replied to jimbrown's topic in Speakers Corner
LOL , Good for you! Do you have any worthwhile input to this conversation about suicide death rates among members of the military or did you respond to this thread soley to declare to the world that you won't feed imaginary charachters ? Well.., I wish you Peace and my Peace I give you. Jim B Hi JB Didn't ask for your peace, and don't really need it. "It don't mean nothing" Are you a Vet? Do you know what a REMF is? Why are you concerned about the number of military suicides? Are you aware that 18 vets are commiting suicide every day? One Jump Wonder -

Hi Mr Peek IMO "a bit harsh" is a under statement. It's the internet thing anyone can say anything. ITSOC lets try and get back to the topic of this thread. If a wuffo doesn't want to jump at SDC because of a couple of incidents than why would they sign the waiver at any DZ? R.I.P. One Jump Wonder

'Do unto others as they have done unto you'... yeah it's a real world law, that dates back to the middle ages. In the left wing, hand wringing, poo bear for president, coffee sprinkles make everything all better world...off the top of my head (not an LEO) I see: Interfering with a police officer, resisting arrest, assault with a weapon, drunk and disorderly...basically, 'Felony Stupid.' Could this situation been handled differently? SURE, drunk little Barbie could have followed the officers instructions and nothing would have happened. I'm not saying that all cops are always right in all situations, there is another unrelated vid that comes up on the linked page where a citizen gets the snot kicked out of him (on camera) for literally no reason. THAT cop should do time. In the case in point, Barbie took a couple shots at Krispy Kreme going for his face and eyes, swinging with a 'weapon' in her dainty little hand...so she's proven in short order that not only will she not comply, she crazy as a shit house mouse...with a table full of knives and forks in front of her who knows what she was gonna try next. Could be she very well may have been sporting a couple of .40 body piercings that none of her sorority would be envious of. Barbie clearly showed aggressive physical escalation and total disregard for the law...she was swinging a metal object with force at the cops head. She got what she wanted, a fight. And again as Divot so articulately pointed out, fight with a cop and you're gonna lose. If you find yourself in a situation where you think a cop is over stepping his authority, smile & be compliant...then file a complaint with his superiors. Here in Houston they televise the city council meetings, police misconduct & brutality is often brought up because it seems we have some real cowboys here that over step time and again. The path for complaint is clear and the results are discussed. Some of these officers get disciplined, some fired, some get civil rights charges brought against them...THAT's the 'civilized' way of dealing with it. Quote Damn this sounds like SC. Damn this is SC One Jump Wonder

Mr Silver 1) If your head size is 66cm, have you considered using you head & visiting a manufacture and making them a deal they can't refuse. 2)Some of the men that play pro american football probably have a head larger than yours. And they wear helmets with lots of padding. The pro american football helmets appear to be evolving yearly. So how about emailing a standard letter to PR depts of all the pro teams asking if they got any older stuff in your size. Beware: Not sure about the safety rateing of the helmets One Jump Wonder

Medical Insurance and Jumping ...
Krip replied to KermieCorleone's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was wondering how many folks jump while having medical insurance that does not cover skydiving. Anyone ever just tell the EMTs that they "tripped and fell" if they know they are not covered? Hi KC Insurance companies have investors that they have to protect etc. Not sure if a EMT arriving at a DZ will accept the tripped and fell excuse froma person wearing gear or what the insurance co will decide. OTOH We had a health insurance policy while attending college in 1970. There was some kind of a exclusion for injuries sustained involving privatly owned acft. We injuried our ankle & fib on landing a parachute the insurance company rejected our initial medical insurance claim due to the acft exclusion policy. A parachute is not a airplane Good news bad news we were able to qualify for free medical care -

Hi Folks Imo the scary sories from 1990 to today are a lot more scary than the good old days. Any comments, opinions? about starting a new thread and then everyone can read about all the near misses not just the fatalities. IMO this is part of the history of skydiving for at least the past 20 yr's and will continue. "Who says skydivers are stupid we invented a whole new way to kill ourselfs (Old joke in respone to hook turns the learning curve was steep and costly and maybe settling down History has a way of repeating itsellf so. Who says skyivers are stupid We invented another new way to kill ourselves and anyone that gets in our way R

There was another Lisa about that time that ended up on the edge of the sewage treatment plant. I showed up the next weekend and everyone I saw thought that was me. Kinda weird, showing up and everyone thought I bounced. Hello nice lady Read your post about peeps getting confused when they see dead people walking About 20+ yr's ago due to the Local DZ conditions My wife and I took the ride to LP to check it out. No Possee just one jumper and a great wife When we showed up at the local DZ with the video of the after hours entertainment at the bar and Maybe the campfire (OLD) and I don't really need to look at the video's it was that much fun. Some of the locals decided to make the trip to LP. (think pre internet) Me bad I should have kept my mouth shut. Some person has that opens high enough find them selves in a situation puts them in a slow turn and decides that rather than cutaway they (gender neutral) can counter act the turn by using the breaks on the opposing side. When it was time to landand the jumper let up on the breaks for landing and ended up with a unintential hook turn since the origional problem had never been corrected. The result was a very major injury. I was in the back of the bus I saw the crowd gathering around the injured person that just happened to be wearing the same color jump suit as mine. There was nothing I could do i just landed away from the injured party Pat Hayter was already there and the sounds i heard from the injured jumper. When I get back to my wife she tells me that she's reading her book in her lawn chair and notices some of folks from our local DZ hanging around and asking her if she wants to sit with them. Why? becuase they thought it could have been me and wanted to comfort her just in case it was actually her husband. My Wife got . Something along the lines of "I'm reading my book and you want to interupt me just because you think it could be my husband Attend to the injured party get their butt to the Hospital asap If it is my husband and he's still alive when He get to the hospital then come back and tell me so i can visit the dumb ass in the hospital. If he's dead, no rush he's not going anywhere . Now please leave me alone so I can get back to my book Lucky for the injured party we had Mr Steve Splatt with us that was a emt/paramedic? had lots of first responder experiece a real pro and a hell of a nice guy. The Dr's OTOH were not ER docs mabe a obgyn, gas man whatever so Mr Splatt took charge, Call the chopper. asap Do this this and this. The jumper was rushed to the OR due to the extensive the injuries and died on the opeating table when their aorata burst. So they were able to save her life IMO due to Mr Splatts quick action. It was another day ar work for Steve Splatt and just another day at the DZ for my wife except for the dumb ass's who interrupted her just in case.
