  1. Hi SR If you have the time read the incident report about about the 100 jump guy who knew he was ready to jump a wingsuit. One DZ in Fl told him no he needeed a minimum of 200 jumps to jump a WS (Chuck Blue you the man). The guy went to a DZ down the road where he knew some people and he got to make 2 wingsuit jumps. Read the incident report to find out why he never jumped again One Jump Wonder
  2. Hi A Some old folks have large bottles of pills Wife went thru TSA security at the airport and "The new guy" wanted to count her meds in the labeled script bottle. The wife's script is for a 2 week supply, and the bottle was half empty. After the wife's return we returned to the drug store and asked for a smaller empty container with a label on it. No problem now when she travels she can take a smaller amount of meds with her. BTW the TSA guy did not touch her meds or open the bottle after the supervisor asked what the problem was. 8. They had audibles in the 70's? I'd like to see the size of that thing since micro electronics were still a long ways away. It must have been the size of a boom box. Also, they may have had free flying in the 70's but it was called flailing. The were about the size of an Altimeter ll...and carried with 'em about the same 'handicap ostracized prejudice' that AOD's of the day did. ...if you were so inept that you need fancy gadgets to get ya through a skydive, jump alone and/or reconsider your options regard weekend hobbies. Hi T I remember there was that one "state of the art" audible about the size of the alti 2 but twice as thick. Are you sure it wasn't in the early 80's That was some funny shit, dude walks by with audible bolted to outside rear of their skid lid. Must have been a Xmas present Someone help us out here we need a pic from a Para gear catalog, or Ad in Parachutist mag. The sse alti was the hot ticket. No way was I going to jump with a acft altimeter on my belly wart. One Jump Wonder
  9. Hi John Boy Thread Creep in SC Review your posts in this thread then start pointing fingers. In case you haven't noticed I'm not one of your students, don't work for you and your not a mod. So either respond to my post as written or just keep on trucking. Have a nice day. One Jump Wonder
  10. Hi M Your over 18 yo and you don't know how to keep warm in the winter Let me guess your just a poor helpless little innocent girl that needs lots of attention. If you can't remember to ask your intructors what to wear how are you going to remember what to do when your prachute has a malfunction and you have to go to plan B. The dogs at the DZ will give you all the attention that you can handle until you either run out of $$$ or make a dumb mistake because the dogs put you on the fast track brfore your ready for it and hurt yourself really bad. Read the waiver its real. You get hurt you won't be able to sue anyone for even a cup of coffee. Read the incident forumThese are real incidents are you ready to die, lose a foot or walk with a permanet limp and be in constant pain. I suggest you introduce yourself to the women forum on this site and ask them how a sweet young thing should act/wear when your around the DZ. One Jump Wonder
  11. Dear John boy "Events like Rodney King, Abner Louima, the Jon Burge tortures, and Amadou Diallo (among others) tend to make me wary of always believing the cops' versions of events and that cops always wear the "white hats". John Boy AKA prof Thank you for taking the time for you well thought balanced response. You do have a good pont about being wary of the police I know I am Can you tell me any segment of our society that we shouldn't be wary of.
  12. Hi guy's and gals, jumpers , skydivers. I'm thinking that the term back in the day is losing it's meaning if it ever had one due to the maturing of the skydiving industry. I know due to my youth we started way to late to even come close to the following terms (The following definitions are mine only with the purpose as a starting point for discussion) "back in the day" 1940's "close to back in the day" 1950's Closer to back in the day 1960's "Not even close to back in the day" yesterday or tomorrow. Opinons are like A-holes everyone has one includeing me.
  13. Hi P_F Sounds to me like earl set the benchmark for "back in the day" 1940, first smoke jumper etc etc. Another person from the greatest generation that is no longer with us. One Jump Wonder

  16. I realize we all live in different parts of the country/world with different crime rates but I'm curious how many of you all have monitored home alarm systems installed and activated in your homes. Any comments on personnel experience with false alarms vs actual break in's would also be appreciated. One Jump Wonder
  17. Amadou Diallo raised his wallet and was shot 39 times. I would like to see objective evidence in support of the cop's story. As far as I can tell, right now it's just his version that we have. Hi Prof So you would like something that you know doesn't exist. 1)Don't be bashful john, just tell us what you think you know happened 2) How do you think the police officer should have handled the situation starting from the point as soon as he found the stolen car. 18. I'm sorry Skymama. I'll behave...I promise. It was just a joke. I couldn't handle a banning right now. I'm stuck at home with the flu for at least the next 2 days. I need something to do. Do what all the other women do surf the net for porn
  19. Hi The bad apple was a dead ender with nothing to lose. The perp had lots of time to turn himself in or surrender before he died. I'm sure you all have heard the term "suicide by cop" imo this is a prime example. But It's not over until its over. The people who aided the perp after the murder of the 4 officers need to be prosecuted to the FULL EXTENT of the law.
  20. Hi LM Sorry for your loss You really are lucky to have had a "Amazing Dad". One Jump Wonder
  21. CLASS , CLASS Stay focused on the subject. Please note the location. Texas: Nope Chicago: Nope Lucky: Trolling Moderator: Whatever FWIW Wa state is located in the northwest corner of the country. Best case: the real world scum bag bleeds out before the police find him
  22. You know people that are willing to head back out there with you and host a little "come to Jesus" meeting-A good ass whooping goes a long way. Shit, I've never been locked up west of Colorado anyway It would be a waste of time and effort, even fantasizing gives them more value and recognition than their miserable lives deserve...I'm content in the knowledge karmic retribution inevitably wins out. The worst thing ya can do to people like that, is let 'em carry on. Karma gotta love it
