  4. Number of jumpers killed by low pulls in the last 39 years: A LOT! Number of jumpers killed by GoPros and Contours combined: ZERO! Number of AAD activations due to low/no pulls: Enough to prove their worth! Number of AAD activations due to presence of GoPro or Contour without low/no pull: ZERO! What are you baseing your numbers on? I hope it's not on the incident reports on DZ.com. Any idea how many video people or the peeps geeking the camera got sucked down. Just wondering K-RIP One Jump Wonder
  5. Hi Guy's and Gals Happy Veterans Day to everyone, it's a time again to honor all the vets, and their family members. Veterans day is more than a paid day off or a time to buy the latest and greatest on sale. There are many ways to show our respect to our vets. "Thank you for your service" is what it is. Words I'll be writing my congress persons and would like to encourage other to do like wise and complain about the inadequate treatment our vets are recieving from the VA. The VA is what it is and will continue to treat some of our vets with les than they deserve. The following link is one of the websights that can be used as a resourse for vets and their family members that are trying to get some help. And for those that want to find out the challenges our vets are facing. http://www.vawatchdogtoday.org/ I don't have any comment about the advetising on the site. I also suggest that if anyone feels the need to donate any $$$ to a veterans organization, be sure they are the real deal. To all the vets from all the conflicts past and present I salute you and your family members. K-RIP One Jump Wonder

  7. Hi We jumped at stormville one weekend probably around 1971. New Yoork, New Joiirsy, the german club the police club the DZ had it all including the loadestar. We had a great time, bought a well used black and white checkerboard PC with red stars sewn on the stabilizers. When everyone went to the resturant saturday night I got thrown out by the McNasty ownerbefore I got to finish my meal and all the jumpers got up and walked out in mass without finishing their meal or paying FWIW We weren't even drinking . , being loud or roudy, just eating. 15 yr's later we're at Z-hills and we run into Max Mienpost, and & Franc Bender two of the guy's I had only jumped with on one weekend in stormville 15 yr's earlier. They were that outstanding. The last time I saw Bender was about 5 yr's ago and I'm still in cantact with "Max". Let the good times roll K-RIP One Jump Wonder
  8. Made it click for you I hope The golden knights made some test jumps about how to handle a two out situation, USPA ST&A may have a copy, or Like you said it it's some place else on the net. K-RIP
  9. We had a biplane at approx 1500' with a 7 cell cruiselight 220 sq ft, and a 5 cell swift reserve. Winds were slow and steady, 3 gradual 90 degree turns downwind base and final so we could land close enough, with a easy stand up. K-RIP One Jump Wonder
  10. Did; it says it only works on certain W-D models of doors. JerryBaumchen Hi MR Baumchen Only certain models of W-D doors or We had a autorized W-D installer come out to check out our place. It was probably 10 yr's ago. He never mentioned replaceing the doors. Just removeing the killer springs and crap. Might have his bid in my files somewhere. OTOH time change cost of energy goes up, there's some nice energy efficient light weight garage doors around these days. We watched a builder/ neighbor put in his W-D system from scratch, all by his lonesome. The installation instruction are available on line. To tension the system he just used a ratchet. All we did was remove the 20 y.o.openers and replace them with the 60 y.o. model

  16. Please don't push me out of the door while my PC is still inside the AC. If you haven't climbed-out and I see your PC loose inside the AC, I'm gonna try to capture it before it (and you) go out. Hi Stan We witnessed a situation like you decribed. Jumper was inside the plane getting into position to exit. His shit came out and a heads up jumper Mr Tim Wyboe standing next to the door kicked the bag towards the opposite wall and grabbed the jumper away from the door at almost the same time. Mr Wyboe didn't have time to: scratch head, scratch butt he reacted immediatly in almost one fluid motion I was still in the phase and was getting to the scratch head part and it was all over by then.
  17. Hi Mr T Thanks for the heads up I googled the dude after you Than I had to google third nipple K-RIP

  20. If they do that, for heavens sake do not get your car registered in Oregon where its a lot cheaper... the WA State Patrol has a habit of sitting on the on ramps with video of the Oregon plates getting on the freeway for the morning commute. They do persecute tax cheaters in WA And when you try and register the new car that was bought in oregon in WA state the state sales tax might be collected before you get your Wa plates. The state of oregon gets their $$$ by collecting income tax. AFAIK it doesn't matter where you live it's where you work that counts if you get caught living in Wa state and working in Oregon. OTOH it could be worse State income tax gets worse if your married and one spouse works in one state and the boss works in the other state We also lived in a city where they took 1% off the gross income for all the peeps employed in the city "Earnings Tax". So the folks that lived in the suburbs got tagged for 1% for the benifits of the services provided while working in the city. When we filed our taxes both states, the city and the feds wanted a copy of ea others tax forms. Of course depending on the employer, type of job some people play the game, and some win, some lose. 23. The Hustler was quite will known in the mid-60's when I started ( Feb '64 ) but I think it was 'developed' in the rather early 60's. I think they were more of a regional thing. Here in the Pacific NorthWest we just did our own mods and almost all were 7-Double L or 7-TU. In the Spring of '64 the ParaCommander came on the market and everything changed; and I mean everything. Modifications like the Hustler were just too much work. Hi Mr Baumchen & 377 Close to the end of this Link: http://60sjumper.skydiveworld.com/start.htm There are pics and names of a bunch of "Rag" mods from "almost back in the day". Turns out the Hustler & Double Rocket were just different names for the same modification. My Double Rocket came from Texas The Hustler sounds like a pool room, East/West coast thing. Of course the PC's changed everything but some of us had to have 75 jumps before we could jump a high performance canopy like that. It seperated the men from the boys. The PC had way to much forward speed and those hook turns for us rookies. K-RIP One Jump Wonder
