Damn I'm not a pilot but the urge to turn around and try and make it back to the the airport has killed a lot of jumpers over the years. WE had a DZO flying a beaver that had a fuel problem immediatly after T,O, we Later "heard" the fuel pump broke. The DZO had her A game on that day and kept on going straight ahead, landed in a cow pasture without a problem untill the front wheels sunk into the mud and the plane flipped onto it's back. When we talked to the DZO the next weekend we gave her a attagirl for doing the right thing

Hi 269 With a screen name like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shah I can uderstand why you have such a high opinion of yourself. Sorry I'm not going to refer to you as" The King of Kings" . You've been demoted to 269. Keep it up and you'll be refered to as #2. If you don't understand what that means surf the net . KRIP

The retailers belive in santa clause where would they be without "Black friday" . Back in the day we never heard the term or I forgot it. In my house (no kids) every day is Xmas espically when we can buy on line. R

Really? Yes, because cover-up is the only other option left to those who refuse to accept FBI rejection of their pet suspects... Has anyone considered that the FBI or the CIA was involved in the hijacking from the beggining at the direction of J Edgar Hoover. Has anyone tried to account for the location of all the FBI agents at the night of the hijacking? I wonder if this thread took a year off if the whole event would just be forgotten except in the history books. Has anyone considered entering this thread into a super computer and try to make some sense of all the data you all have collected. R.

Hi Mr Spot Are AAD's required now? A AAD fire sounds like a expensive screw up, why punish everyone for for a couple of screw ups their already getting hit in the pocket, and lost downtime while waiting for a repack. Amost back in the day at some DZ's a low opening would result in punisment for the offender (grounding for various durations or banning from the DZ) rather than punish the whole DZ or the sport. I'm not proud of my "low" opening it was a chain of event that were all my fault. But if your going to be stupid you better be on your A game or lucky or both. Sometimes thats not even good enough to save your butt. R opening

Hi Nigel "The Shah" IMO is doing worse than trolling he's a cry baby federal employee thats disapointed that the bean counters are giving women (a very god bean) more points in the hireing process than a persian male (another good bean). Just not as good as a women that could even have 2 good beans. IMO "The Shah" got his supervisory position with the gov't because of persion heritage. Remember the army shrink that went postal at Ft Hood. He did a crap job his peers were complaining all the way back to medical school and walter reed but the bean counters had their priorities a persian bean. Once the Dr went postal at Ft Hood the bean counters couldn't sweep the blood & guts and BS under the rug. Most of the peeps in the Dr's chain of command that kept on ignoring the Dr's shit poor performance and rated his performance outstanding to meet their own performance goals are either going to retire, or resign because theirs a letter in their personal file (a very bad bean ) and will never get promoted which probably means they will be released from the army before they can retire, The Dr at Ft hoods trial is "schedualed" to start in Febuary 2012 and I suspect that his defence team will try embarress the army for his ssupervisors incompentence to save the Dr from the death penalty. To "The Shah" SIUCC you got promoted to a numbeer 2 or 3 slot in front of a lot of Wasps , and other beans . You just never made it to the front of the line becuse your persian bean wasn't big enough or your weren't smart enough. If "THE SHAH" wants to wine and make a fool out of himself so what. I think he's smart enough that he's not going to go postal at work. FWIW I'm a retired career Federal employee (Engr fwiw) something I'm not proud of. But it takes a fed to understand how the system works and where a crybaby like "The Shah" is coming from. The vast majority of federal employee's we knew never wined about the bean counters and their promotion system it's just the way it is. I was lucky enough to take advantage of a early out and retire at the age of 48 with a reduced annutity. 25 yr's of service any age. I was able to get my foot in the door because I had a small bean "a veteran: from the late sixties. To "The Shaw" if I'm wrong about you bring it on and prove it. Feel free to PM ne or respond in this thread or just ignor me. if you want to go wine to the mods be my guest . I don't have to read the theads you start. BTW MerryXmas Nigel R R.

Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise
Krip replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Not usually. At higher power settings the difference between the two is almost negligible, but at idle the four blades make a lot more noise and drag. For some aircraft the four bladed props are part of a short field landing kit. Might be true in the civilian market but the C-130A models (First model) were well known for their 3 bladed props and extreme noise level. We lucked out and did our time on the C-130E models one if the cchanges was 4 bladed props -

I remember reading about the incident in parachutist, at that time I thought the sugar in the fuel was confirmed/theory. Did the FAA come up with a final conclusion that was different. Remember I'm a old man so don't bitch at me for asking the same stupid question again. Gotta take a nap. I'll be back if I wake up R.

Life is like a box of chocolate A long time ago I went out with a "The Shah" type girl. The only thing I can remember was her asking me what kind of a car I drove IMO it's not what you got in you wallet or how you dress and your bling bling or how great a jumper you are. It's all about whats in some ones heart and brain. I'll take a go dog over a show dog any time. "The Shah" the beautiful people and the 1%'s will never get it. To bad for them they will be happy for a while R One Jump Wonder

Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise
Krip replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I know a DZ in oregon that lost a cessna due to a fire after a noise dispute with mcnasty's (That were there first). FBI did their thing just couldn't prove who did it. On a happy note the Mcnasty's in longmont were a PIA but I don't think their stupid enough to break the law. -
Agreed but you have to have time to enjoy it, and be lucky enough to survive it. Sitting in the saddle at 150' from terminal velocity was a outstanding experience that I'll never forget. There's a very fine line between ground rush and going in.

For every body part there's a fetish don't forget the toes I hope your not still in high school

I am debt free (other than the house), but in this economy and as long as I remain a freelancer rather than on a regular payroll, I will never have $1000 "to spare." +1 except the house is paid off and we're retired. The challenging economic conditions have kicked our butt. Wine wine wine pass the cheese

When your retired every day is a holiday Consumer Holidays and weekends are the worst times to travel. To much traffic and crowds. We'll skype some friends. R.

Our babies are spoiled and get rawhide bones almost daily. But since we've found a real butcher shop (Farmer George) we'll drive the extra 15 miles and get some big ass cow body parts. Their favorite seem to be a frozen upper and lower leg connected by the knee joint held together by tendons and cartlidge. Gift wrapping won't work they can smell that stuff as soon as we walk into the house. This time we'll buy mass qty's so we can stock up the freezer. Eveyday is is xmas in our house for "Humans best friend" and the boss

Were the openings "Brisk"? The rig on Ebay looks sweet. To bad its over priced for a collection. R.

Absolutely] Set her up like Tom Sawyer whitewashing the pickett fence. She'll be begging you for a chance to try the "man stuff". It will give her something to do at the DZ. Just watch out for the dogs R

[replyNow what am I supposed to do with all my free time? Use the furminator and clean up all the dog hair. June Cleaver (beavers mom) was always cleaning and polishing something. R

Aching arms That maybe part of the problem You left out the rest of your body parts. Rolling on the canopy with your whole body to get the air out, beat the sob with your fists, knees's to compress, legs and feet to make the lumpy bag look nice, and mouth for (cussing) the SOB into submisson. Sweat also makes a good lube to get all the junk into the little bag. Not jumping for 4 weeks thats lots of time to practice before you have to jump. R. One Jump Wonder
