Hi Richard You did good watching your sons back. Thank you for your service R

It was terrible! I actually had to find something constructive to do last night. I was shovelling %!%$!#%$ SNOW... over a foot of WET..... HEAVY .... SNOW.... now the freezing rain is kicking in again. Hi A SOPA I thought I just got banned again Snow? Yikes we've got some to I've noticed that the snow will eventually go away on its own when the temp's get above 32 degree's. No human power needed. No way am I going to allow my domestic partner risk getting hit by a falling tree and work her butt off removing snow for 1/3 of a mile to the main road. We've got enough T.P. to last us thru the winter. No reason to leave the mtn. Grass is a problem that stuff starts growing as soon as my boss cut's it Thats why we got her a riding lawnmower. One acre in less than 30 minutes. So far the electricity has gone out twice today, I assume its due ice, tree's and cars. We got a generator that came with the house. To bad we haven't started it in 4 yr's. IMO it's not worth the noise. R.

Just wait for the BIG ONE on Dec 21 HI A December 21 was a couple of weeks ago. Did I miss something besides santa Claus. On a more serious note I think things are getting interesting now in our local area. News reports are saying the state HWP are being armed with chainsaws Zombies???? R.

Just got a call from a friend who actually has packed this very parachute. You're right! Swift Plus 175 it is! How old is the reserve? The rigger that packed it should have that info. I assume the owner is interested in selling it and it's resale value. I think I know what my 25 yo 5 cell swift is worth. R.

I am willing to bet whatever the going rate for 10 lift tickets will be in 2019 you will do both within the next 7 years. Can 269 win the bet if he gets married, buys the house

Sure, but what is the cost benefit analysis going in? Is the guy a full time skydiver who depends on the jumps to earn a living or is he a fun jumper? Also, whose to say that skydiving was a significant factor in the marriage falling apart in the first place? Whose to say that the child isn't old enough to say that he doesn't like going to the dropzone? Maybe the guy has a drug problem and spending a weekend on the DZ is how he gets wrapped up in it? The point is we don't know enough to make any sort of real opinion besides that it sucks for that guy. We all love skydiving, that's what brought us here, but the only person who has heard both sides of the good and bad is the judge and that judge set for the conditions. Hi AD As usual your points are spot on. I don't know how to quantify the benefit of a parent getting to see their kids. Except to say that its probably priceless to a responsiable parent. OTOH the cost can be very steep. Because most lawyers can't afford to work for free. I wonder if the jumper is looking at USPA for help with his legal bills? or just wants jumpers to write a letter to the judge based on in adequate info. R.

Hi Ski Trolling for "269".

If he already has a lawyer, there's really not much more you can do for him. And if he does, just because he didn't prevail in court doesn't mean that he didn't have a good lawyer. If he doesn't have a lawyer, the best you can do for him is tell him to lawyer-up ASAP, and get himself a lawyer who specializes in family law. If affordability and/or not knowing where to start is an issue, he should call his county bar association's lawyer referral service. Sorry Andy but I disagree. The dude is beyond helping. Some divorces end up where everyone is friends and some end up where the X's hate each other for ever. A lawyer can't fix that. But he will get paid for his time. No telling which X is at fault in any relationship We've all heard the stories about the X wife getting almost everything.. Then she goes and sells the X's, H.D. and Corvett for chump change just to "get even". Thats one pissed off spouse IMO a marriage is a life long contract so before you do the deed better be sure your marrying the right person. Having children to argue over just prolongs the pain and means more lawyer time. FWIW 25 Jan will be our 37 wedding anniversery. My boss is and i do as I'm told. SCORE!!!!! R. One Jump Wonder

that was my first thought as well While I understand where y'all are coming from, it should bother everyone that a judge can limit your activities on a whim. And like someone else said, why not banning him from other dangerous activities. I'm betting the guy could fight it and win if he wanted to This isn't a criminal court, it is a civil court, the judge can place restrictions in any manner that he/she sees as reasonable and prudent to the situation he is overseeing. This is the USA

TX Skydiving firm sued in student's death
Krip replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sorry guess I should have been clearer. I'm working off the, perhaps cynical, assumption that all this would be done to a potential crop of clients in anticipation of a triggering event rather than after one. -Blind Would a LLC work? -
Beware!!!! Now I want a Mcnugget

Buy a DZ Just because you have a instructor rateing doesn't mean you'll be able to find a job instucting, unless you own the DZ or marry the DZO

Damn 10-11 yr's ago all those bad people learned how to fly plnes in florida. That was a secret misson. And now florida is training people from the same side of the world how to skydive IMO no big deal as long as they miss the airport by 1-2 miles. Everyone if florida needs to jump barefoot, without underware. Just in case. R.

HI Mr T All my old stuff has shrunk even without being washed WAG Your X large double zip has shrunk and now its to small to fit you even were butt naked What we need is a G.I. that travels to a nice place overseas supply him with some good materils (zippers, thread, maybe cloth and the all important snaps for the black bungee stuff that fit underneath the boot to keep the legs from riding up. Back in the day a tailor in the PI with a tredle sewing machine could make anything from a pic in a magazine. Just need to make sure the G.I. is the same size as us full figured folks or get the measurements right with pics. In bali we took our cordura log book cover to a tailor shop, selected some nice leather and told the tailor "same same" . Nice workmans ship good velcro or the price except the plastic for the USPA card and jump tickets didn't last. R.
