Alex, If your getting a low battery failure alert on the display screen and you put new batterys in it, either the fresh set of batterys was bad, or theres a problem with the power system in the camera. My suggestion is if its new, take it back and exchange it. changing the shutter settings will not cause a low battery failure. Good luck. Hey since your here, now would probably be a great time to take fill in your profile.

I am considering attempting to get my tandem ratings in the middle of the month. Im a little nervous as, for me, this is a big step in my progression. I have looked around and I am considering one of two I/E for my instruction. What did you base your decision on when selecting a I/E for your ratings, What do you think your biggest difficulty was when attempting to get your tandem ratings? Any other advise would be helpful. Thanks.

We always jump at 15000 ft and my dropzone and MANY loads go up to 18000 ft. Ive never had a problem with my pc100, or my trv-38 both my 35 mm and my digital still work fine at alt. too

Who is staying where (hotels or homes) for the Dublin Boogie?
freefalle replied to VanillaSkyGirl's topic in The Bonfire
there are only 5 rooms left in the reserved block at the best western and only 14 rooms left total at the hotel if you are thinking about staying there you may want to make reservations soon -
I just called the best western, anyone considering getting a room there might want to call today, of the block of 30 rooms we have for this event there are only 5 left. There are only a total of 14 rooms left in the entire hotel to be rented out during this weekend. Now ya know

What Happen with the Skytruck Boogie?
freefalle replied to javip82's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I was in Lebelle this weekend and was talking to one of the locals about this very subject. It appears the boogie was cancelled because they had a problem getting thie plane. However, it just so happened, the sky truck was there this past weekend. Myself, and 4 other people get to jump it. I must tell you this plane kicks ass! Its super fast, quiet and comfortable. The door is abiout as wide as a twin otter, or just a bit smaller and the exits are a BLAST. If you ever get the chance to jump it, DO it! -

many people have used B&H photo with success http://www.bhphotovideo.com, I was happy with my purchase from them. I've also purchased lenses through ritz camera. www.ritzcamera.com Sigma is popular, quantary makes an acceptable lens at a reasonable price. That at least gives you someplace to start.

try doing a search on here for pics of peoples set ups, alot of people are using similar gear with a flash that is top mounted.

I had the same problem with mine once, I have a PC100 on the right side of the camera, there is a switch, Im not home to look at it right now, but the switch slides from left to right, if its all the way to the right, when I started the cam eye, it did exactly what you are describing turn on 5 sec then stop recording. IF you have the same camera or something similar, slide the switch to the left and try it again. If you press the record button on the camera will it keep recording or do the same thing. let me know

If Im shooting 35mm rather than digital I usually shoot 24 or 36 shots, I shoot a couple of gear up or of the passenger with family or friends before the jump. I shoot a couple in the plane on the ride up to altitude (if you do this make sure you change your settings for the lighting in the plane) I shoot the majority in the air try to get a nice exit shot etc. then I shoot the landing. I dont remove my still from my helmet at landing shots I just squeeze my bite switch to get the camera to shoot. If Im shooting digitals, I shoot in the same manner, I usually just end up getting a few extra shots here and there.

You'll get mixed reviews about Deland. As far as the DZ goes, the facilities are nice, good landing area nice resturant and this time of year its usually pretty busy. There are a few other DZ's in the area you may consider visiting, Titusville is about 50 minutes away, Sebastian is about 2 hours away, lake wales, and Zhills are both within a couple of hours away. Palatka is close and Skydive Jacksonville is "supposed" to be repoening soon. I would check out the list of DZ's in the area and see which one fits you best.

I think it depends, I've used turbo tax for years and I've been happy with it but then I've always had just one or two W2s and no deductions. This year, Im going to have mine done simply because I've got 10-99s involved and Im hoping to deduct some of my expenses.

now thats funny

Why would you say that Eric? Im not really sure if your statement was a jab at the person who orginally authored this post, but your response could be viewed as a personal attack, please correct me if I am wrong. God uses different events in our lives to invite us to the realization of his presence. It all depends on your point of view.

Canon Rebel is a great 35mm camera, I'm really happy with mine, just make sure you get a newer model with the remote input, if thats something you would be looking for. I don't think you can go wrong with Canon. Thats just my personal opinion, there are several good camera's on the market.

I was in Japan a few months ago, I was skydiving at a club in a city called Tochigi-Ken Its about 3 hours from Toyko. It was a small club they only jump Helos. The people were fantastic, given the chance I would go back in a heart beat. I'll see if I can find the email for the owners so you can contact them. Also, this link http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~TSDC/english.htm is for skydive Japan, I found it here in the dropzone listing section. From what I understand there are 3 or 4 DZs in Japan. Good luck
