  1. gotta work, but Ill be there Saturday
  2. The first thing you need to do is contact the bank (if you used a debit card or the credit card company if you used a c.c.) tell them you wish to dispute the charges. the people at skyride are probably not going to work with you. At this point it seems your best chance of getting any form of refund is going to be by disputing the charges through your bank. Good luck.
  3. Regardless, if he is fit or obese, 320 lbs is 320lbs and anything that puts over 500 lbs combined weight under a canopy is too much
  4. I am a tandem master, I would not take him for safety reasons. The max combined out the door weight is 500 lbs. Even if the main could handle a combined weight of more than that, my concern is what would happen if I had to cut away and use a reserve which is of a smaller size. It is possible that you friend may find a tandem master that would be willing to take him, but in the interest of safety, I would not recommend he go on a tandem until he has lost some weight.
  5. Come on FRIDAY!!!!! when in the skyvan due in????
  6. I contacted the Sea Dell about 3 days ago. They are up and running and still have rooms left. Their prices are reasonable 59.00 a night + tax.

  9. I am pretty sure you are mistaken. Skydive space center will not allow anyone under the age of 18 to go on a tandem.

    anatomy paper

Does it have to be on a specific organ or can in be on a system? If you can write it on a system, or a gland, I would consider writing the paper of the pathophysiology of the adrenal gland and its effect on the body before and after the act of skydiving. The entire endocrine system plays into factors and hormones released by the adrenal gland however I think that you could target the focus area of the release of norepinephrine and epinephrine.. I think it would be interesting.
  11. I think it depends on what the photo is being used for.. If its pictures being used for "hey can you go take some photos so I can hang them on my wall" thats one thing. However, if the photos are going to be used in a magazine or some other form of advertisement, the value of thoses photos increase exponentially. If I were going to shoot the photos the first thing I would ask is what are they going to be used for. You mentioned that the person you are shooting the photos for is a professional photographer, if thats the case he understands, or should understand the value of your work. Don't be outragous in your pricing, but get paid what you deserve.
  12. I may be wrong but I think the terms you are looking for is front float, rear float and center.,,,,
  13. Well, Im certainly no expert. However I can give you my opinion from the experience I have had. First off Yes, I do tend to agree, If I was doing CReW, I would probably want to forgo the use of any RSL, do to the possibilty that my cut away may have been induced by a wrap. With regard to the skyhook, I have had one cut away on a rig with a skyhook and one cutaway on a rig without one. I can tell you this. The skyhook system is FAST, I am pretty sure it beat me to my reserve handle. Its a good dependable system, it is however, not a replacement for proper emergency procedures. If you have any questions about the skyhook system, I encourage you to contact Marc Procos at relative workshop. He can and will answer any questions that you may have. Also, try doing a search on here for the skyhook, there have been several threads about it in the past, several of which Bill Booth ( the creator of the skyhook) has provided some input. I am a strong advocate of the skyhook system.
  14. thanks for sharing that story..... thats just gross.
  15. Tandem ratings, well lets break it down, your milage may vary on who teaches your course 1 coach rating 150.00 instructor fee and a minimum of 4 slots (2 jumps you and the evaluator) 1. FAA medical physical 80.00 1 instructor fee for the tandem evaluator, gear rental, and 19 slots around 1000.00 I think thats a pretty close estimation. Don't forget you have to have a minimum of 500 jumps and three years in the sport to get your rating. Also depending on which manufactures rating you are getting you have to have at least one cutaway.
  16. Wendy, you rock! Thanks for all your hard work in putting this boogie together. I know it takes alot you your personal time and effort to get everything lined up. Wether you realize it or not we appreicate all you do to make the Keys Boogie such a kick ass time and a great success.
  17. I think mine cost me less than 200.00 with gear rental and instructor fees.
