  1. Im not sure where they are at in location to where you are going to be deployed, but I know of two. tokyo skydiving club http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~TSDC/english.htm and there is another in a city called togeki-ken its a small club but the people are great, I was there last year and had a good time. good luck, enjoy Japan its a great country.
  2. One of the guys at my dz just bought a digital rebel XT, it's working great on the ground but when he uses it in the air several of the photos are just all black, the photos that do come out are great but the majority are just all black. Any thoughts as to the cause?
  3. I don't believe that to be true, Although I don't believe you can purchace the parts to install the skyhook "yourself" If you send your reg back to RWS the can retro-fit your rig with a skyhook. Contact 386 736 7589 I would ask for Dorothy or Mark, they should be able to guide you in the right direction and provide you with information on the cost.
  4. Bite my ass, I know what the real world is like I work full time, part time and raise a 6 year old son. I know what the real world is all about. I went back to school to obtain a better life for myself and my son. Trust me, I've see more of the "real world" than you have ever though possible.
  5. I keep telling myself there is a light at the end of this educational tunnel, but right now. It sucks. That is all.

  8. okay, Ill appear stupid whats a steriogram?
  9. email the owner bob@skydivegreensburg.com I'm sure he can forward you a copy of his last news letter that had the information in it.
  10. Mike, read the information on Pauls web site, its good stuff. The only other advise I can give you is,, get started. Be sure your belly flying skills are above average and get out there and try. The most frustrating part is getting the exits down, which given the fact that you are at a king air DZ is just a little tough, that aircraft is not the "norm" for 4 way. Be careful and take things slow. Learn what the burble feels like and learn how steep you can fly above the formation without falling through the burbble. It's going to take some time and patience but you will get there. Don't over state your ability to the group you are videoing, let them know you are just starting and trying to learn. Don't expect to get paid, or for that matter even have your jumps paid for until you are consistantly competient at what you are doing. Be prepared to pay for your own slots and do the best you can. Take your time, your skills will improve. Titusville is hit and miss with the number of people doing 4 way on a regular basis, so take what you can get. Shooting 4 way video is alot of fun, but its also alot of work to get good at. If you have any other questions drop me a PM or give me a call.
  11. Where do you intend to be on the 28th, it might help to know that.
  12. Team dirty Sanchez is holding its first annual boogie. Come on out, have some fun March 10-12 at Skydive Sebastian check out their web page for more details. www.teamdirtysanchez.com More details to follow
  13. about Team Dirty Sanchez??? TDS just had its first brithday, its Founder Denis Neal has put a ton of work into the club and its web site. Check out the web page www.teamdirtysanchez.com
  14. Why (and how) do you operate two still cameras at once? I have a digital camera and a 35 mm camera, I sometimes jump them both together. I do so because due to cycling times sometimes my 35mm will get a shot that my digital doesn't and visa versa. I fly my digital mounted vertically and my 35mm mounted horizontally. I have two pulgs which are controlled by one bite switch. If Im only flying one camera I just tape the other plug down so its not blowing in the wind. Its interesting to compair the prespective of the two cameras
  15. Which members of the team will be conducting the camp? It seems next season is going to be bringing new faces to the team. With just about the entire team being replaced, who can we expect to see at this camp?
  16. I'm going to get a new digital next month, Im going to get either the cannon rebel XT or the D20. Has anybody done a side by side compairson of the two cameras? If you had to choose one over the other which would you pick. Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.
  17. Mighty dog in palatka, I dont know how old he is, probably in his 60s there abouts, hes doing them still from time to time.
  18. depending on what time of year you are comming, it might be easy to get a part time job in daytona beach, the "tourist season" starts about the 1st week of feb and runs through the end of March. Its not too hard to find work there. Daytona is close to titusville, Deland and Palatka. Its a couple of hrs away from zhills, sebastian, and lake wales. Good luck

  20. Contact skydive deland, they can put you in touch with several people who rent out rooms. Finding a place shouldn't be too much trouble but I'd call soon I'd think they would fill quickly this time of year.
  21. I've seen a couple of hybrids go bad, As with any skydive, if the experience level isn't there, neither should the skydive. I congratulate you for knowing you limits. As far as things that can go wrong during a hybrid, handles, can get pulled often times people grab chest strabs when they hang, nothing wrong with that I suppose with the exception that the chest strap is very close to the handles which could easily be pulled. I also thing that the person hanging has to be experienced and ready for the fact that they could possibly cause a burble for the belly fliers when the go into the stand. I've see people try to go into a stand and cause the formation to flip over. Hybrids are alot of fun, but I think all parties involved should be solid fliers before entering into one.
  22. DAMN IT, DAMN IT DAMN IT. RIP my friend, I will miss you.
  23. Sounds like you did a good job dealing with a tough situation. Im not saying what you did was wrong, but I would have chopped. My decision to chop in the situation you were in comes from A) low jump numbers and B) an ingrained predetermined decision that if I can't fly it in the air without stress, I probably won't land it without breaking myself. You have a ton more experience than I do so maybe in the future my decision will mirror yours but at this point, Im buyin a rigger a bottle
