  1. Yes, and Yes. The lens will work, but you will have to factor in the 1.6 conversion factor.
  2. The rumor a handful of those Team Dirty Sanchez people are going to invade this party too.
  3. I had to replace the transmission Pyke How many video jumps do you have? Look brother, its a slow process and shit happens, everthing from the camera being zoomed in, the battery dying just before exit or the damn tape running out just as you turn it on while in the door,IF you remembered to turn the damn thing on at all. then there is the mals that involve the still camera, like the bite switch taking a shit, the camera being on the wrong settings, forgeting to turn the damn thing on at all. Or then theres the skydive its self, (human meat bombs, the flavor of the drogue, sinking out on the tandem with the 95 pound passenger. Shit happens, and just when you think you are prepared for anything, new shit happens. It gets better though. The first time you see your photos in a magazine, the video that is just bad ass perfect. Having someone walk up to you and say dude I saw this picture you took, it rocked. Its all about loving the "art" of the work. Its never going to make us rich, hell, for most of us its never going to pay the bills but in the end, its worth every bit of what it cost. Hang in there, you've got the love of the art, the rest will follow. Im going to finish my beer now before it gets warm....
  4. Rock on Marc!!!! congrats brother. Im happy for you. Anne, you are awsome for all the support you have shown him along the way. I am happy for you both. Marc, be careful bro, you already know fire is a funny, funny bitch.
  5. I remember you now! You were hitting on me too. You must like those Team Liscious girls! hahah! Rather brave of you, since both of our boyfriends were there! OMG yah.. that PsychoPunch will kick your ass every time!! Whatever happened to the fountain that was supposed to be overflowing with GREEN psychopunch for the boogie?? errnie, you dumbass
  6. Are we talking about Video or stills? If were discussing stills: Jeff, you have seen more than a few of my shots, I have rarely used manual focus. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about how far away or how close to my subject I get. I "probably" miss a shot or two because the lens has to grab a focus but I think, for the most part I am able to get shots that would come out blury if I was on manual focus. Just my .02 for what its worth
  7. Were you the one who filmed the tandem with me and the human meat bomb? Bro with the combined weight of that tandem you did the best you could. I think there are very few camera flyers with your experience who could have kept up with those speeds. You held your own this weekend bro, nothing to be ashamed of.
  8. 14, I did some tandems, One ballon, one Helo, and a fist full of jumps just to take some cool pictures.
  9. Sebastian, looking at your profile, you only have 100 jumps, I hope you are holding off on flying camera until you get a little more experience. Not getting off on that tangent, I'll get back to the post. My suggestion is this, take it for what its worth. If you are just starting to fly camera, hold off on getting a camera suit at all. Learn to fly your body to the best of your ability without the suit. I made the mistake of starting camera with fewer jumps than I should have. I also made the mistake of buying a camera suit right away I became very "dependent" on my wings to hold me in the positions I wanted to be in which hurt me in the long run. The best advise that was given to me was to learn to fly without the wings and they will be much more helpful when you need them. Good luck have fun
  10. Na, that shit isn't funny, you and your girl could have been hurt. I probably wouldn't have handled it as well as you did Matt, you are a gentleman.
  11. You're right, that balloon picture ROCKS! There were a bunch of very talanted video people on hand as always Chuck always provides great stuff. David Thanks for the compliments David! hope you enjoy the photos and the footage Chuck
  12. I too had a great time, it was a blast meeting new people, the ballon jump and the helo rocked as they always do, despite some challanges with the weather. it was a blast. less that a year and we can do it again.

  15. Arrrgghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope those winds aren't gusty, that's when I get to be a real weenie and sit on the ground. You are a smart women Andrea, better to sit on the ground than ride in the ambulance!! Lets hope for good weather. see you tomorrow
  16. Enjoy the air Don, you are missed my friend
  17. Looks good Matt, you going to be in Sebastian this weekend?
  18. Matt, let me know how that works, Id like to see some shots, Im always looking for better ways to get pictures To answer your question, I've not taped down my flash, I've never had a problem with it opening but its certainly not going to hurt to tape it down. I think the only time taping it down would be when you DONT have the flash disabled, if it is not disabled, and if the flash trys to open when it is taped down you'll get an error message and the camera will lock up
  19. Matt, I agree, dont rip the rubber cover off if you can avoid it. When I bought my camera the first lens I used was the kit lens, you've seen some of the shots I got with it. You can use gaffers tape to hold it in the position you want. Just be sure not to tape the focus area if you are going to shoot using auto focus. Eventually you may want to upgrade to a better lens, opinions about which lens is best vary but for what you are going to shoot the stock lens is a good place to start. Just a comment on auto focus vs manual focus I almost always use auto focus. It has served me well, however knowing that you will be shooting alot of wing suit stuff I encourage you to try to play with manual focus setting it just shy of infinity wing suits move so quickly that I think the auto focus will have a hard time getting a lock and maintaining it. The XT is a good camera enjoy it, feel free to ask if you have questions, someone will have the answers
  20. I know the 2 of the owners of this DZ they used to jump at skydive greensburg where I worked last summer. They are good people Im sure this is going to be a hell of a DZ.
  21. Sooo whos going to this gig. Its going to be a great time. I'll be there Saturday all day shooting pictures on various loads.
  22. Im planing on making at least 2 ballon jumps while Im in Dublin, if you want, get on the load with me, Ill video your exit for you with my camera and I'll fire wire you the footage when we get back to the ground. That way you don't have to worry about hunting your camera down later. it's no problem since I'm already going to be there. You can find me at the tandem concession, as I'll be doing tandems all weekend. Chuck
