  1. I just wanted to take a minute and thank everyone who sent me PM, post and phone calls. My surgery took place this morning, the doctor successfully removed the tumor from the bone and sinus. I feel okay, I go back in tomorrow and have the packings removed, and the pathology report will be back no later than Monday. I'm glad this is comming to some form of closure and Im finally getting to move forward with either treatment or my life. Again, I want to thank you all for your support and the occasional kick in the ass when I needed it. Chuck Bryan
  2. check with pete draper SID on dz.com. Hell of a nice guy and does kick ass work. I highly recommend him.
  3. Im sure you already know there is a conversion factor of 1.6 with your digital camera, so if you were happy with what you had to get the same results you would have to use a 15mm lens. May people like the Sigma fixed 15 it seems to be pretty popular.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe ALL Cameyes require a Lanc port. Not sure the 26 has one. ltdiver I think you are correct
  5. I don't know shit. I learn something every day. and sometimes I get lucky and take a kick ass picture.
  6. tony, what settings were you using for that shot? Just curious Chuck
  7. sounds like I'll go with the HC96. Thanks Matt. Ill probably pick one up the first part of August. Hopefully Ill find one on sale.
  8. What a great time, I will certainly be back in the future, It was great to meet new people and to see old friends.
  9. Another chance to be hurt, I'll take a zero!
  10. I admit, I'm not the most advanced when it comes to video camera. My trusted PC100 gave up this weekend at the boogie. I have decided to replace it rather than have it repaired which brings me to my question. I need some advice, my budget is tight probably no more than 600.00 or so. What is a good camera that I can get for around that much. I use a top mounted helmet, but I would like something that I can also use when I have to shoot handy-cam for video. Please don't reply with use the search, I already did and I'm more confused than a nursing baby in a strip bar. thanks
  11. Where all the damn people at??? We got in last night around 11 and nobody was stirring except the pilot from the good year blimp, although he was cool as hell. How many people can say I sat inside the goodyear blimp and drank beers..... pretty damn cool. Anyway Denis, Andy, nikki jumppingbean001 and I are here.... lets get this damn party started.
  12. Depends on the winds, I plan and prepare my student to slide in the landing, If the winds are high and were comming straight down or nearly straight down Ill stand it up. But I would say 80% of my tandems have mowed the grass
  13. Nice costume, It would look great, in a pile on the floor, right next to my jeans.
  14. Not to bring bad karma, BUT,,,,, does anyone know what the winds are being forcasted to do this weekend, I've "heard" the storm is going to be a ways out but the winds are supposed to be pretty high in Chester. Any body have any ideas???
  15. I can not wait for this weekend, most of the The FLA contingent will be meeting up Thursday afternoon and will be riding out.
  16. for the love of Gawd, hes a guy, he doesn't care what eatable you put on it, as long as you lick it clean when your done.
  17. Are you anywhere near Greensburg? If so, I believe skydive greensburg has a rigger on staff full time, give them a call. You can check out their website at www.skydivegreensburg.com
  18. I truly believe, and hope that the story you heard is the exception, not the rule. Personally, If I see or think that my tandem student has been drinking or is under the influence of a mind altering substance, they aren't going with me. As far as not being properly instructed before boarding the aircraft, again, I hope that is the exception no matter how busy it is, we should never be too busy to teach
  19. I shoot with 2 video cameras, one has a wide angle lens one does not. I think this poster is dead on about learning to shoot without a wide angle lens. lets face it, he's just starting out, hes not got a whole lot of jumps. NOT shooting with a wide angle lens allows him to learn to get video, while being a little further back from what he is shooting. As he improves his skill and his comfort level increases, he can move to a .05 and then progress down from there and he learns to fy closer to his subjects. IMHO, a wide angle lens helps get exits, and helps if you are flying in really tight with your subject wether its a tandem or a 4 way. I've got good video of a 4 way in full frame flying over the top without a wide angle lens and I was high on the team. I've got good tandem footage shot infront of a tandem without a wide angle lens. I think his thoughts about not flying a wide angle lens until his skill improves is smart and safe.
  20. Was that not a bad ass picture of Art schaffer (crutch) and Tammie Grassel ( Jumpping Bean 001) in Parachutist??? Night jumps kick ass!!
