  1. Just a though, but that might be too much flash with all the plexiglass in there I would try one or two this first, use bounce flash or a diffuser if that was still too much I might just try using the stock camera pop up flash that may give you what you need with too much glare.
  2. well, what exatcly are you asking, what settings to use, or how to mount the camera on the helmet, either way you need to do one of 2 things, or both, give us more information about what you need to know, or forgive me for saying the "Do a search"
  3. Karen, There is a "simple" fix to this problem, if the harness doesnt fit, you can't go. It effects people at both ends of the spectrum. People who are obese and little tiny people who are too thin for the harness to be tightened down on. The greater problem is getting DZO's, manifest personell, and TI's to follow the safety regulations. I frequently have seen tandem passengers who are too heavy being taken on tandems. There is a max weight limit on equipment for a reason, does it seem smart to have a tandem master who's exit weight is 260, taking a 250 + pound tandem passenger. In my opinion no, does it happen, all the time. Safety limitations are there for a reason they need to be followed. I know this is a broad statement but Its MY OPINION and I am entitled to it. It all comes down to money and ego, DZO's want the cash and chances are "things will be okay" and some TIs have the attitude of " I know what Im doing I can take anyone on a tandem" and maybe they are right. But it only takes one mistake to kill someone and further tarnish the image of our sport.
  4. Made my hotel reservations at the Executive Inn 47.67 a night,,,, very nice. Thanks to who ever managed to get us the group rate!
  5. Free, could you post some pictures of your helmet, I've got the newer FTP and Im not famaliar with the older style.
  6. No, ibuprofen in excessive doses is toxic to the liver.. People should never take more of any "pain reliever" than is recommended by the manufacture. The problem with liver failure is that you don't know you have it until its too late. then you die.
  7. Ill preface this with Im .50 drunk and a little upset right now So, I went back to the Dr. today, and got the news I didn't need or want to hear. My tumor has gotten larger. The pain is getting worse, actually, it really frickin hurts. My doctor tried to schedule me for surgery in 7 days. I can't do it, mentally emotionally spirtually I cant deal with it yet. I have come to far in nursing school to miss the rest of this semester, and Im not going to quit. I managed to talk him in to hold off on surgery for 34 days, (after the semester is over and more importantly the rodriguez brothers boogie) I go in the 26 of June for surgery. This is the 5th time I have had to have this done since 1991. Im tired, I hurt and as much as I hate to admit it Im fucking scared. I am 35 years old, I have a 6 year old son, his name is Dylan, he is an awsome little man and I love him. I don't know why this is happening to me but it needs to stop. After they remove the tumor, the dr. will send it off for testing to see if it is cancerous again. Please, if you pray, pray its not. I don't know what else to say. If you are going to the rodriguez brothers boogie I'll see you there, it my be my last one so if you see me lets have a drink.
  8. It's not a matter of full time staff being more "important" , but they should most definately have priority over the part timers. this is how they make a living, and most times it is a meager living at that. think about yourself making 40 hours a week, during a slow jumping week or a rainy week and show up on the weekend ready to take this mans work away. skydiving full time is not going to make you rich maybe you can eat, pay some bills, and buy some gear.....then your broke again I'm not saying either one of you is wrong but I will say this, A "full time" skydiver is a full time skydiver because they choose to be. They have the option to go out and get a 40 hr a week job like everyone else. They elect to make their living skydiving and accept the risks of working a job that is both weather and customer dependent That being said, yes full time skydivers need to earn the money they make on the weekends when its busy, however the people who earn money by skydiving part time on the weekends probably do it because they too, need the money they earn skydiving. I work 40 hrs a week, my job doesn't pay enough to cover the bills and raise my son so I do tandems and video on the weekends. I NEED the money I make at the DZ to support myself and my son. I NEED the money I make just as much as someone who skydives full time. So do I think Im taking money out of their pocket, no, I dont. Be that as it may, as far as the rotation goes, its the DZO's sand box and he can rake it any direction he wants. However, if I am scheduled by the DZO to work a weekend and I show up to work a weekend I expect to be put in the rotation just like everyone else who showed up to work the weekend.
  9. I currently own the rebel xt, Im happy with it, but I have been given the change to upgrade to the D20 or even the D30. Has anybody played with the D30 to have an opinion on it yet. If you already own the XT and you had the chance to upgrade, would you take it??
  10. enjoy it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, the XT is a great camera. fast, light and takes great shots, I think you will like it
  11. Its just a color bro. Its all about personal preference. Both cameras work the same, I bought the black one because I thought it looked cool

  14. I agree, go with the fixed 15, I dont think you will regret it
  15. If brusing is a constant problem for you, you need to see you doctor, You may have thrombocytopenia, (a plattlett disorder) or you may suffer from amemia Its hard to tell without lab test. If you aren't taking one already consider taking an iron supplement, which is usually a good idea for females anyway. Additionally, as previously stated avoid any Asprin or products containing asprin products. See your doctor.
  16. You are the only one who can answer that question. IMHO no, 5 jumps is not too many. I look at it like this, I jump until I don't feel like jumping anymore. Some days that means 1 jump some days it means 15. You did mention an important fact, don't sacrafice safety to get the "one last one" in take your time packing, gearing up and making sure you are both mentally and physically prepared for your skydive.
  17. Anywhere my son is. My kid is awsome, he 6 his name is Dylan. He inspires me everyday to push through my own pain and fears He teaches me the value of play and the worth of a hug. I love being with my son and where ever we are together is the perfect place!
  18. I know this is a little off topic but Im going to make this post anyway. I watched the segment from the real TV clip, which was inaccurate anyway, but the thing that annoys me the most is that at no point during the interview did the skydiver take responsibilty for his malfunction. IF infact he had the same type of malfunction as described in the aforementioned posts, he should have said that his incident, was preventable. Proper gear inspection and ruling out the possibilty of ways an incident could occur would have helped. The segment on real TV does NOTHING to promote this sport in a positive manner.
