I just do not know anything about anyone anymore Why arent people's profiles updated? Names? Home DZ? Where ya live? Jumps? Gear? Ratings? I feel like I am sufing in a superficial world of handles with nothing beneath the surface I feel......I feel........so so lonely............
  9. I saw that and I hope that he can recover. Positive Vibrations comin from Nor Cal
  10. I was kidding about being naked Yes we have a 300 sq ft canopy that he jumped. Most DZ's should have no problem accomodating you. Good Luck!! And it is not "Fall from the sky" but "Fly in the sky"
  11. I jumped with a student twice this past weekend hwo weighed 250lbs fully geared. No problem at all. I just had to jump naked to keep up with him
  12. Children!.........Don't make me pull this web site over!
  13. Send it to Southern California please. I don't want my weekend hosed up here in Nor Cal.......If you know what i mean
  14. Snowbird you are da bomb but rarely do people think like that. My first canopy that I bought was a Falcon 195. At the time (i used to be lighter than I am now) It was 1.0:1 wingloading. I flew the bejeesus outta that canopy. I jumped it till I had almost 300ish jumps. I was not ashamed that I was like the only person jumping a non ZP canopy at my DZ for the amount of jumps I had. I had no problem. But I will say that most of the students see the JM's jumping ZP and thus want it also. I have seen JM's recomend as much as 1.4:1 wingloading to students with 20 jumps. Crazy crazy. Lisa you tell em they have a death wish and to go elsewhere. And if they gots a problem with you I do not think you'll have any problems finding some back up to go demonstrate to the individual the pain broken bones cause Cheer up drink beer!
  15. Rock on Chromey!! I'd actually be curious as to what space sounds like. I always thought when I heard whales talking on the discoverey channel that that would be what space sounded like.
  16. Sorry man, keep your head up......... Do not do anything stupid...... For real
  17. I will accept responsability for those students I have talked to about canopy selection for their first canopys. The dropzones that i jump at mostly are pretty close to sea level. Also at the dropzone i jump at 85% of the time we have pretty consistant winds that blow from the ocean. Depending on who the student is my recomendations are different. Not only do you have to take each individuals ability into account but you need to realize that for a majority of these students a canopy purchase is a huge investment and that they will be with this canopy for a long time. 1 square foot per 1 pound you weigh (fully geared of course) is what I usually recomend for my students. Depends again. But if another JM comes a long and says "Dude, he can jump something a little smaller, just be careful in the beggining" The student will of course be torn and usually will go with the smaller canopy thinking to themselves "that the smaller canopy is what I will want to jump eventually anyway so might as well make some safety concessions and get it now" It is tough. Maybe we should have students sign a waiver before buying gear from a retailer so as to imdemnify the retailer? As a JM I try really hard to make students make intelligent and conservative choices for their first canopies. But who are they really going to listen too? They will listen to whomever tells them what they want to hear.
  18. Naw sorry man I am busy this week. How about um .............. never Serious $2 million does not seem like a good deal. The article said 16,500 strong! Chances do not seem good. Thats a few to many people to take on. Columbia sounds like a gnarly gnarly place right now. Plus i saw Scarface. I aint takin on Tony Mantana
  19. Some things we should share ~ and some things we should keep to ourselves......... Just kidding Muenkel. Did you wake up feelin flustered? I hate when I have crazy dreams and wake up all tired..........
  20. Andy sorry to hear about the ankle. Just wierd luck. You should be back up 5 weeks max. And no that is not a skydiving injury. It is a "hey doc I fell down my stairs" injury Heal quick
  21. Think it would be possible to take a tandem rig for a cross country and use the shoulder clips to attach some sort of cooler so you could have a platform to place your beer on and maybe eat a sandwich while doing your cross country? That would be cool

    New pic?

Andy are you asking for new pics? If so here is one from a month or two ago that was emailed to me this morning. Me just havin fun in the sky....... **Never Mind ~ Pic removed**
  23. With only 5 minutes to ask questions and being respectful to whom you are asking questions the standard: How many jumps What is your favorite discipline Do you have any ratings But of course jump numbers don't say a lot. Currency is the biggest factor in most peoples jump abilities. Also another question I ask of people often is where they jump. I have met for instance students going through AFF that have relocated from Perris or one time from Deland. These student where superbly trained. Experienced jumpers from these bigger DZ's seem to be better educated and better skydivers as well. So where you come from can have a signifigant indicator as to your abilities. This is a generalization of course. Not fact! Seven questions would be a lot to ask someone briefly you just met. I would not want it to seem like an inquisition
