3 epic sunsets in a row fri, sat, sun : 19 : 0 Lots of AFF, Tandems, and fun jumps. Very good mix of jumping this weekend.

Everyone go ahead and raise your altitudes a little this weekend ok? Just bring it up a bit and remember when in doubt wip it out. If you do not like what you got cut it away. Check out your neighbors gear and encourage them to do the same to others. Do not rush to make loads. Pack thoroughly. KNOW THY ALTITUDE! And do not be ashamed to get off a load. Dirt dive that extra minute or two. Make sure everyone is aware of the breakoff altitude. Remember it is better to be on the ground wishing you were in the sky than being in the sky wishing you were on the ground. Please please just be safe.........

Don't knock Canada man. They got some of the best clubs. Why last time I went there me and some friends went clubbin on the coast. We got us some real cute baby harp seals I am so just just kidding.... I totally love animals.... In fact i know a Canadien. Oh damn should I admit that on these forums.......

Never jumped there. My father is next door neighbors with dean Porter who owns Star Farms. When I first met the guy and I told him I was a jumper his first remark was "skytrash" he said it in a laughing manner though. Afterwards he proceeded to tell me stories for two hours I dare not say on these public forums. I will say that they sounded like real good parties! He is looking forward to the mini invasion as are some other locals. Count me in! Lookin forward to it for sure.

I did 3-4 on the 135 and did the rest on the 235. It is really really good experience to be able to sink a conopy straight down in no winds or even creep a little backwards in a high wind situation. My card says Falcon 235 though. Is that bad that I just admitted that Should I recant? A couple of $ bills to the BOD or S&TA can maybe get you past jump #3

More than one of your handles is in the top 100 posters.........

Funny...... We usally tell students after the skydive "this is the most dangerous part of the skydive" as we hop into the van
-
I got a Pro/Demo rating. Falcon 235 is the canopy I did most of my jumps with. Great demo canopy though I kind of wish I did it on a 265 or 300 now. More air time is a plus. I have done some demos on my Stiletto 135.

Good friend of mine told me a funny story that unfortunately I will have to give you a second hand account. He was swooping the pond at Lodi and at some point had to stab out of the swoop to avoid getting wet but when he did it popped him up ten feet above the water and he just kerplunked right back into the pond. This is the funny part. he was wearing teevas and when he came out of the water one was all twisted up on his foot and apperantly he screamed out loud thinking his ankle was broken Silly skydivers

About two and half years ago on a light wind day in Monterey (which by the way is rare) I noticed a decent crowd of people standing near the landing area. Perfect opportunity to show off in front of the spectators riiiiggghht Now mind you this was a while ago and have learned my lesson. We have a van that shuttles back and forth from the landing area to the hangar. As I approached at a wierd angle I found myself heading straight towards the van (fuck fuck fuck) so I tried to lie down so as to go roll under the van instead of broadsiding it. Unfortunately before I could make it under the van the five gallon buckets filled with sand to keep the lines around the spectator area stopped me I ended up breaking my ankle. But not nearly as bad as a person who once impaled them selves onto the corner of the door of the van. But I'll save that story for another time. Yes they lived

Is there a DZ in Washington DC? Where did George senior do his AFF? I would imagine there is a lot of politics involved with those places
-
I tend to carry a blissfully ignorant attitude at whatever DZ I am at. If a particular bit of drama is circulating the DZ that does not involve me I do not become part of it. All to often people make something their business that is not there business. Thus blowing up said incident or drama into something bigger than it should be. I travel to at least three or four different DZ's on a regular basis and have not had problems meeting new people and jumping with new people. If some one does not want me on their load it really is no biggie and I will jump with someone else. As for the comment regarding the schools being the "hub" for most DZ drama I disagree. From my experience these people are the more professional people on the DZ at any given time and are at the same time the most selfless people. I do not see females taken advantage of by instructors any more than they are taken advantage of or hit on by regular jumpers. Heck the JM's are usaully too busy. Also saw a comment regarding freindliness of free flyers vs. rdubbers. There are an equal ammount of freeflyers that only jump with other ""good" freeflyers and not newbies as there are rdub organizers that do the same thing. Just my .02. It is just life after all. Same stuff happens everywhere not just skydiving. Skydivers in general to me seem friendlier and more giving than other people. Now since I am apparently blissfuly ignorant can someone fill me in with the gossip regarding DZ.com? I misssed it all

Congratulations on your demo!! They are a blast. Just be safe and remember that the general public has no idea what is a cool landing or not. For all they know you just exited an aircraft and landed. So inn general it is better to jump a large canopy and keep things uneventful. After all we need to give whuffos the right impression so they don't come trying to shut our sport down. Again.......Super congrats!! Demos are definately a rush

I can only tell you how sad it is to loose Timmy D. A couple of us were there at Hollister friday afternoon when it happened. This is a tremendous loss to the local skydiving community and his family. I can only hope and pray that the healing can begin soon. Tim to say the least was one awesome individual.I do not know what else I can say except that I will never forget him. Ever. ~Peace my Brother and Eternal Blue Skies~
