  1. not at all.... I know its a contradiction... but I cant afford anything extra... plus I live in a doublewide, in Florida... on a backroad, that only has one way out in the Green Swamp The area I live in has flooded from hurricanes and my town has dern near burnt off the map twice from wildfires... I want to have a nice place for my kids and a big yard for them to play in, so living way out in BFE is the only way I can afford this. I do what I can and just pray that as hurricane season approaches that we will make it thru unscathed....
  2. I dont know about the oil/water thing (this is actually my boyfriend's car, he just doesnt post much due to being out of town, so Im asking for him) The radiator has not had any sealant put into since he has had it, however it is a rebuilt one from a "barely used" type of place. Another friend (who is a mechanic) is also stumped, they ruled out a cracked head because there is no white smoke from the exhaust. Can you please elaborate on the thermostat thing more? I will also ask him about the coolant.. I just am trying to help, because he is very aggrevated and just dropped a nice bit of change getting the water pump replaced only for it to over heat again. I do know that before the water pump was replaced, running the heater, would help some but did not totally alleviate the problem. Thanks a million!
  3. Does anyone here have any advice on what else could be causing a 2000 mazda protege to be overheating? The radiator, water pump, & thermostat have all been replaced (in the past two weeks). When it runs hot, the water in the overflow is boiling, but stops when the radiator cap is cracked... Any ideas would be appreciated....
  4. I think I am a good person, definitly made my share of mistakes.. and I know I have good morals, all that being said tho... I dont hold a candle anywhere near all the perfect people who post here tho....
  5. Wait until you have a malfunction, then we'll see if those handles are what you're thinking about. exactly.... on my last (5/17) I dont remember dropping my cutaway handle, but I did. It was the last thing on my mind at the moment... I kept my reserve handle tho. I hope to not have another cutaway anytime soon, but after paying $55 for the cutaway handle, I will try to keep my head more focused to keep it next time....
  6. Ever since I learned CPR, I have carried a pocket face mask. I would never not help anyone, but I want to protect myself regardless. With as rampent as sexual behaviors can be in this sport, one can only be too careful...
  7. happy skyday ... Youve been jumping for as long as Ive been a part of this earth...
  8. Why respond to his post? You're only giving him fuel so he can continue to blasephmy Jesus. Hell needs people too...let him be... we can only pray that one day he will find the truth.... 1st Commandment: You shall not have any other gods before me...
  9. Have a super de duper bday!

  12. HURRICANE SEASON You all should be aware of hurricane preparations, but in case you need a refresher course: We have entered hurricane season. Right now, you can to turn on the TV and see a weather person pointing to some radar blob down in the Caribbean and making two basic meteorological points. (1) There is no need to panic. (2) We could all be killed. Yes, hurricane season is an exciting time to be in Florida. If you're new to the area, you're probably wondering what you need to do to prepare for the possibility that we'll get hit by "the big one. "Based on our insurance industry experiences, we recommend that you follow this simple three-step hurricane preparedness plan: STEP 1: Buy enough food and bottled water to last your family for at least three days. STEP 2: Put these supplies into your car. STEP 3: Drive to Nebraska and remain there until Halloween. Unfortunately, statistics show that most people will not follow this sensible plan. Most people will foolishly stay here in Florida. We'll start with one of the most important hurricane preparedness items. HOMEOWNERS' INSURANCE: If you own a home, you must have hurricane insurance. Fortunately, this insurance is cheap and easy to get, as long as your home meets two basic requirements: (1) It is reasonably well-built, and (2) It is located in Wisconsin Unfortunately, if your home is located in Florida, or any other area that might actually be hit by a hurricane, most insurance companies would prefer not to sell you hurricane insurance, because then they might be required to pay YOU money, and that is certainly not why they got into the insurance business in the first place. So you'll have to scrounge around for an insurance company, which will charge you an annual premium roughly equal to the replacement value of your house. At any moment, this company can drop you like used dental floss. SHUTTERS: Your house should have hurricane shutters on all the windows, all the doors. There are several types of shutters, with advantages and disadvantages: Plywood shutters: The advantage is that, because you make them yourself, they're cheap. Sheet-metal shutters: The advantage is that these work well, once you get them all up. The disadvantage is that once you get them all up, your hands will be useless bleeding stumps, and it will be December. Roll-down shutters: The advantages are that they're very easy to use, and will definitely protect your house. The disadvantage is that you will have to sell your house to pay for them. Hurricane-proof windows: These are the newest wrinkle in hurricane protection: They look like ordinary windows, but they can withstand hurricane winds! You can be sure of this, because the salesman says so. He lives in Nebraska. Hurricane Proofing your property: As the hurricane approaches, check your yard for movable objects like barbecue grills, planters, patio furniture, visiting relatives, etc... You should, as a precaution, throw these items into your swimming pool (if you don't have a swimming pool, you should have one built immediately). Otherwise, the hurricane winds will turn these objects into deadly missiles. EVACUATION ROUTE: If you live in a low-lying area, you should have an evacuation route planned out. (To determine whether you live in a low-lying area, look at your driver's license; if it says "Florida," you live in a low-lying area). The purpose of having an evacuation route is to avoid being trapped in your home when a major storm hits. Instead, you will be trapped in a gigantic traffic jam several miles from your home, along with two hundred thousand other evacuees. So, as a bonus, you will not be lonely. HURRICANE SUPPLIES: If you don't evacuate, you will need a mess of supplies. Do not buy them now! Florida tradition requires that you wait until the last possible minute, then go to the supermarket and get into vicious fights with strangers over who gets the last can of cat food. In addition to food and water. You will need the following supplies: 23 flashlights. At least $167 worth of batteries that , when the power goes off, turn out to be the wrong size for the flashlights. > Bleach. (No, I don't know what the bleach is for. NOBODY knows what the bleach is for, but it's traditional, so GET some!) A big knife that you can strap to your leg. (This will be useless in a hurricane, but it looks cool. A large quantity of raw chicken, to placate the alligators. (Ask anybody who went through Andrew; after the hurricane, there WILL be irate alligators. $35,000 in cash or diamonds so that, after the hurricane passes, you can buy a generator from a man with no discernible teeth. Of course these are just basic precautions. As the hurricane draws near, it is vitally important that you keep abreast of the situation by turning on your television and watching TV reporters in rain slickers stand right next to the ocean and tell you over and over how vitally important it is for everybody to stay away from the ocean. Good luck, and remember: It's great living in Paradise.
  13. yeah I ordered 3 yesterday and recevied a refund for 2 of them this morning b/c they were gone...
  14. While I was still in EMT school and doing ride time, we responded to a crotch rocket accident. I must admit if the severity of that scene didnt sway me from being an EMT nothing will. He (the victim) had stolen the bike and missed a curve and hit a tree at what had to be over 100mph. Needless to say, he was more or less picked up with a shovel. His head was literally mush (helmet didnt help him) and his arms and legs were broken in ways that I didnt think were possible. The impact was so great that he and the bike were scattered upto 600 yards away from the tree. I have my motorcycle endorsement, and used to ride a CBR F4i, but havent rode since 2002. I have been fender fluff with a few friends, but Im not even comfortable doing that. Even the safest motorcycle rider is still not safe amongst the cars, I experienced this many times first hand when I still had my bike, they will look right at you and see you, but still "not see you".
  15. Anyone here superstitious? Im not really.... But when I was rodeoing all the time, I wouldn't wear yellow to a rodeo and I would wear my socks inside out....
  16. seriously? Dude looks like what I would picture a wanna be serial killler or child molester to look like... creepy...

I agree 200%! I have been around horses my entire life and from age 15 to about 21 I excercised race horses at tracks in Florida & New Mexico. Race Horses simply are not bred the way they were when Affirmed and Secretariat (to name a few) were around. Over Breeding is out of control and they are bringing these horses in for training way too young, when their bones and bodies just are not ready for it. Yes they look like big powerful well conditioned animals and for the most part they are, but that doesnt help them to by totally physically mature enough for it. When a horse is in a full run, all of his weight is on one foot at a time. That is a lot of weight and stress for a 2 yro colt to be under. I am just starting ground work at 2, and start riding at 3, and even put that off if their knees have not "closed" yet. A horse of any breed will not have "closed" knees at 2. It is getting border line abusive.
  18. Thanks! And yes it is. I truly hope that other people who are unsure of Jesus and His mighty mighty love will one day, experience it for themselves.

  21. WOW that just sucks! So sorry that happened. I am afraid that we will see a lot more of this tho. And from people who wouldnt normally do something like that. The ecomony will force people to all kinds of crazy shit if something is done and done soon. My stimulus payment was gone in 2 nano seconds, why, b/c I dont make enough to survive without putting my gas on a credit card. I used my stimulus payment to pay that off.
