Being that your a new jumper, your in that phase that Im sure most of us went thru, Lord knows I did. The phase that you want to tell the whole world about this magical new thing you discovered that is so much more than a sport. In fact, even after being in the sport 5 years, I will still tell anyone who will listen about how great it is. But in the reality, it is just another extreme sport, just to most of us who do it, it is a lifestyle. Be content that your mom doesnt want too. Mine doesnt either. I whole heartedly agree that it is something I think should be tried before kicking the bucket, but again in reality it isnt for everyone. And I agree with the others who said that it is much more dangerous than driving a car. Skydiving is an amazing thing, I hope to be jumping well into my senior age (with all of my kids who also want to jump). But in reality, in skydiving, you can do everything right and still die. I still have low jump numbers b/c I am a single mom, I can only make it to the DZ about once a month. Skydiving is only everything (well 2nd to evrything for me) for a select few of us....

So does this mean they are not going to try again for awhile???

Im so so sorry to hear about your cat. As a cat lover and a dog tolerator.. It really hurts. I do however have maybe an insight as to why your dog did this to this cat. I know of several dogs who are fine with cats that dont run from them. Im guessing that maybe Cleo was already scared from dashing outside and presented a chase for the dog. Does the "barn cat" run from him? I know my cat doesnt run from any dog and this has saved her arse many times. Just a thought. Hugs for you and your mom...

Having a cutaway wont make me quit, puts me back a little bit due to the expense of having my reserve repacked, but if nothing else, it gives me a super confidence boost, and really drills home, that maybe I just might know what Im doing...

I took wraps on both sides, because after the intial wrap on the right, I still had no flare when I tried to flare it up high.

To the last two people who responded: thanks for the input, I am always lookig for positive input to take in that could ultimately make me a safer jumper. I intiated the wraps because without any wraps, I was in full right brakes just to make it fly straight. I understand that a myriad of things could have caused this, from as minor to harness position (from the hard opening causing things to shift) to it being out of trim and so and so on. Sally in Zhills is going to inspect it throughly before she repacks it. I totally trust her as a rigger. IMHO, she is one of the best. As far as me packing goes, I can pack, but Im very unsure of myself and put my lack of confidence around others on a packing mat and it takes me about 45 min to pack. Didnt have time for that since I was taking a canopy course. I say that the girl who packed it didnt make the mistake, b/c she is the only one who packs for my boyfriend and anyone there will tell you she is a solid packer. My brake handle being exposed, I totally believe is due to me running way way out in the landing area to help the jumper who had just had a very hard landing. It was a true emergency and I was all over the place trying to help him. Thanks again for your feedback, I will always accept anything in effort to try and understand what happened.

Not true . . . some people have morals. I don't agree with the adrenaline rush idea. I think it is boring and too much trouble. Happy women will rock your world. You will get way better sex from a happy woman than a bar hound. Happy women are motivated to give their man some quality payback. Quote My boyfriend will attest to that!

Good video, but I have to admit that is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. As if skydiving doesnt have enough inherent risks as it is.... Glad he survived tho....

And women are any different... we are all animals neither one of our sexes is more noble than the other I was only trying to imply that men would be more likely to lie to the wife or girlfriend, where the majority of women know how it feels to be cheated on and would be less likely to do the same thing. It has been my experience that men get some kind of brownie points for cheating and getting away with it. Us women however, just get our hearts broken over and over until there is no longer anything left to break and we no longer give a shit.... Spoken just like someone that doesn't believe that women cheat, and doesn't realise that it hurts just as much. We just tend to hide it better. You know me better than that. Having only been the cheated on... I can only speak from one side, but I know for sure that there are some nasty cold-hearted bitches in this world that primarily go after taken or married men. I speak first hand, 2 years into my former marriage a chic scratched "BITCH" on the trunk of my car b/c she wanted my husband... like it was my fault he was married...

After being in a horrible marriage to an "asshat" I know appreciate the good guys. I tell my boyfriend all the time how awesome he is and how much I appreciate him...
-
No they are not, but we are just not as good at lying about it as woman are. touche' I thank God that I am not one of those women!
-
A little bitter are we? if you knew my ex you would understand why....
-
I read it, and as a woman I would not lie for a girlfriend either. I dont condone cheating period. Yes there are good guys out, they are few and far between and most of them are gay or taken. Lucky for me I found one of the good ones, however he is having to deal with my trust issues from all of the asshats before him...

This is a pretty high average for 77 jumps. What were the causes for your other cutaways? Good job saving yer butt!! The first one was full line twists, that I could not get out and the 2nd was a tension knot in my left brake line. I did not have the experience to land on my rear risers so I got rid of it. I think a lot of it for the first two was panicing b/c of low jump numbers. This last one was a "no fixer" tho... Im just glad I got my main and free bag back
