Well, you are an instructor-so that's a given Unsafe means acting in a manner that caused damage or injury. When you told Bolas to moon me you did cause me psychological damage and my retinal burns haven't completely healed yet. So, I gotta agree with them You = Unsafe + Instructor Just think about the psycological damage that I received when I got a naked Bolas hug????

Yeah Im trying to escape, would like to go to the coast, problem is all the EMS jobs out there require you to have fire standards also . I have no intrest in fighting fires....

True... however where I am in Polk County, I am only 18 miles from 417. Polk city Elementary is nearly right off I-4, 18 miles from 417. Again, good luck... I know how tough it is. I desperatly want an EMT job, but there are hiring freezes (despite shortages) every where in Florida

Has she tried to apply with Polk County? http://www.polk-fl.net/employment/instructional.htm They can always use good teachers, most of the ones they have now are horrid.... My kids went to a school in this system last year and my son's kindergarten teacher couldn't even spell "concentrate". They are going to a private school this year. But on a serious note, my daughter had a sub for the first two months of school last year, because of the teacher shortage in this county. I wish your wife luck!

As soon as my NREMT certificate comes in, I will be joing the county Auxillary, that allows you to ride as much as you want and also gets your foot in the door to get hired on with the county. I love riding, helping people truly makes me feel good. Since you are in EMT school, I have a good suggestion, I dont know if your school required for you to get the book called "EMT Success" or not, but get that book. It comes with CD that has practice exams on it that are nearly a mirror image of the NREMT exam. That book was the biggest factor I think in passing the NREMT. Good luck!

I fully believe in Pay it forward... A few years back when I was selling my minivan, an elderly lady who had just lost her van to a fire came to look at it and could only make monthly payments, reluctantly I accepted. Well she was more than good for her word and a 3 years ago I found myself in the opposite situation where I desperately needed a mini van and was able to also make payments to a private party. So yes, just like everything else comes around, good deeds also do...

I actually had a question very similar to that.... With the EMT-B test being that hard, I shudder to think what the medic test is like. Yes the security at Pearson-VUE was something else... probably not even that to get into Ft. Knox. And I indeed left there thinking I failed... so far one person from my class that graduated 4/30 failed the test. Pretty good results. The school I attended tho, has the reputation for being the best in the state of Florida tho.

Yeah, I know how to drop an Combitube... but not an ET tube. They told us in school that Combitube's are rarely used anymore, but it was still protocol that we learn how to do it. Im stoked beyond belief!!!!!

Thats funny shit I dont mind the paragod attitude myself, I find it amusing. I do appreciate a good medic. Just drop the tube and get a line, I'll make the rest happen (Ca. game rules) EMT's in Florida can go thru additional training to be able to start a line... Im looking forward to that... we get to stick each other in class... Sounds morbid to look forward to that huh? Im also going to to take ACLS the next time it comes around....

It is the National Registry for EMT's & Paramedics. I took the EMT-B exam Saturday. You have to take this to work as an EMT.

Well pretty much all over Florida they are having hiring freezes right now due to budget crunches. I hope to however get on with Reedy Creek which is Disney's EMS & Fire Dept. I will eventually go back to school to become a Paramedic, but I want to work in the field for awhile first. My long term goal is to be a Flight Medic.
