    can't skydive while "on break" at work. can't skydive (typically) without working. and it's unlikely that 2500 postings were made on skydiving, as opposed to sex, alcohol, or guns. Thanks! and to towerrat... I do 99% of my posting at work, and right now I am in a slow period, so for 8.5 hrs each day... I literally almost have nothing to do. Because of being a single mom, I can only afford to go to the DZ about 1x a month. However, I like to post here and discuss any issues as well as bond with my fellow jumpers when I am not able to make it to the DZ. Which is why I am sure most of us post here....

    Thanks so much for starting this thread! My issues have really hurt my confidence, but it is good to read about others and how they have overcome it. I am demoing a Sabre 2 170 this weekend, we'll see how me and my landing issues fair with that!

    Holy shit this thread is funny! Just what I needed to start hump-day off right.... Sounds like sugar ants Billy try keeping all flour, sugar etc in the freezer. That helps. Living in Florida they are a huge problem. I have found by keeping powdered goods up, that I dont have an issue with them...

You don't just ditch an animal that depends on you because it's inconvenient. If you're really set on giving him away and don't find anyone here, contact the lab rescues in your area, and they may be able to help you. Do not give him to an animal shelter. This is a valid point, but at least he is trying to find the dog a home instead of taking it on a one way drive somewhere. I live way out in the country and it is amazing the amount of animals that are dumped out there....

    I think it is just absolutly stupid!!!! Maybe the kid didnt belong on the league, however I just watched the Little League World Series and those kids were pitching that fast. The kid just needs to be on a the right team. With skills like that, his future is set....

    I have definitly gotten some great advice here. I have never been laughed at by anyone at my home dz (SEB), but I have definitly encountered negative laughing by some ass hats at other DZ's in the sport. Naturally, it makes me a little weary to seek out advice else where. I plan on demoing a 9 cell 170 this weekend, so we will see how that works. I am also set up to jump with a coach. I WILL beat this demon, it will not get the best of me, jumping and being a safe jumper mean WAY too much to me. Thanks again to everyone who chipped in on the great advice in this thread and a special thanks to those who PM'd me about it. I love being a part of the skydiving family, putting the few asshats aside, its a great group of people!!!!

    My theory on that is that its better to have them laugh and fix the issue, then break a leg and then be laughed at. Surprisingly few people will laugh at you trying to be safe. you would be suprised, unfortunately, i have already experienced this more than my share... really helps to hurt one's confidence....

    Yes I have done it right before many times... in fact before my injury, I just had my B card signed off.. I still have not sent that in, b/c right now I don't feel like a B licensed jumper. Hopefully the jumps this weekend will have a better outcome!

    HAHA! Thanks for sharing! I had read that before and I laughed just as hard this time! My sister gets the Brazillian waxing done and has offered to pay for my first time, NO THANKS! I will stick to shaving! However this last time, I did knick the whoo whoo ....OUCH!!!
