Robert I have no motives other than if you do the crime you do the time. YOU have not taken the time to come to my home and see the things the FBI saw nor to explore them. You have not spoke to Duane friends and his enemies. You have not spoke to those who hated him and loved him at the same time. You have not seen the time lines and You were not with him for 17 yrs. NOT one time have I tried to deceive anyone regarding Duane Weber and I never will. Nor will I lie to make him Cooper. The things I have told are truths and nothing was engarnished NOT one story was every engarnished. IT did not have to be embellished because they all happened - every incident really happened. After all of the these yrs. The woman who heard the remark Duane made in the Hosp regarding putting money in a buck and not being able to find the bucket - she is NO longer listed and I have not been able to contact any family members, but I have not read the obits. The man who saw Duane counting a hugh sum of money in 2000 died just a few yrs after Duane did. The man who bought the Van was non-commital and has remainded so. I have copies of his criminal records which are NOT detailed. I can prove the FBI stated Weber was never at McNeil and then I found records that discredited the FBI's. WE found the ARMY record the FBI so adamantly claimed did not exist. Doug Pasternac found that one. Doug Pasternac also interviewed the composite artist - who revealed something never made public or declared by the FBI. The FBI has admitted that even they do NOT have a clear picture of Webers' past . There are too many holes in Webers past that cannot be filled. I certainly was unaware of this when I started my investigation many yrs ago - but, Weber has even baffled the FBI. Anyone who knows me knows that I refused to lie even on a TV program. I got up and walked out when they ASKED me to lie! I refused to do so...only one statement was I co-erced into making - but, I had not seen the places I was instructed to recite, therefore I was unknowingly being used by someone else for their own purpose. Why would I have any reason to fabricate Weber's confession. The accusation by Bruce is bad enough. I had to go take a pill after I read his post - MY heart was raging that the BASTARD could even possible go that way. I have suggested he leave WEBER entirely and I strongly suggest that HE do NOT mention Weber or his wife in his book. I think some phone calls need to be made - to Tina and others and with a letters from my attorney. I really do not have the money to spend right now but I won't need any money if I have a heart attack. Bruce is a VERY SICK MAN...and it is time the crew stood up to him. He has hurt too many people as it is - it needs to stop NOW! What you need to do before YOU make any assumptions is to talk to individuals who actually know me and my ethics. Bruce Smith is a man WITHOUT ETHICS and very dishonest...he is also VERY HUNGRY and abusive. It is hard to produce EVIDENCE on a man many say did NOT even exist and such as it is with the past of Weber's life - Weber was a GHOST when he was not confined. There is hardly any better way to put it. Prior employers have been interviewed as of recent and his last living friend....Duane just did NOT exist until they met him. His background was not even investigated by prior employers and both of these were prior employers.....no back ground check was done. Weber was a GHOST when he was not in the confines of a prison and even then the records regarding Weber have these BLANK spots - He is here and he is not here, but there. Mrshutter you are confusing issues regarding the money. Regarding the money he went back to get in 1979: YOU ARE CONFUSING ISSUES AGAIN. I believe HE LAUNDERED SOME OF IT - but some of it was DAMAGED and that is WHAT he used as BAIT so it would APPEAR that Cooper had died in the jump. Remember I am talking about 1979. 1971 you can bet he took money with him, but he couldn't take it all...why he went back in 1979. Duane always said - never put all your eggs in one basket - he never did! ANYONE who went out and spent large sums of money woudl get attention. He survived and that was what was important. He had a nest egg he could go back to - he had blew everything in his life - he wasn't going to BLOW this and if if he got caught he would spend the rest of his natural life in prison. What little he washed in Vegas was enought to supplement his income and help him become establish in his business. Just a little at a time. He waited to wash the rest of it - had to wait so he put in in different baskets....I expect he had other staches in other places of unwashed money. Duane did make some lavish expenditurea after the crime. 2 new cars and trips and clothes...and got rid of the old wife and turn her in for one more fitting to his new station in life. WELL, that didn't work out too WELL - she thought he had money and when she found out he didn't - there was HELL to pay. Her credit cards had been run to the max and WEBER just took OFF. She caught up with him a few yrs later and he had to CHAULK up over 9K plus attorney fees. After that we used my CREDIT cards - but I watched them like a hawk - NOT one time did he misuse them until the very end - 5 yrs before he died and he made that right within a short period - other wise he could continue to live in the travel trailer I had pulled down to the shop. WHY the hell do you think his van was in my name - he had no credit and no money - but he always had money to spend. So where did it come from in those few yrs of his life. The shop never made any money - merchandise didn't move - it was a front for the money he retrived in 1990 when he took off for OMAHA. When the money was running out is when he decided to go off the machine and his life was getting pretty miserable....broken bones and vomiting and bowel problems. The TICKET Weber had read Dan Cooper on it. I don't expect the FBI to do anything other than what they have done - SHAME ON THEM! One thing is for sure - when he escaped a couple of times - they didn't find him for a period of time...until he screwed up again. I don't feel well enough to pull the crap so don't pick on the yrs! Robert just throwing it in the river meant it could have sank to the bottom an never be found. That is why HE buried a little near the bank across from the PDK and then PUT some on the beach at Tena's to be sure it woud be fourn and then he threw some off the piling at the bridge at the Red Lion. THiS way he was ASSURED someone would find it and the FBI would think he was dead. By the time they did - he was was safe and sound in Mobile Alabama and the money sitting in a saft depostic box in Ohmaha. Omaha if he ever had to run he could always make a quick top in Omaha - the City with which you pass thru to get to all points. Cooper didn't want the money found right away! That is why in 2 of the locations he buried it. The one down the river - perhaps he just thought it woud sink the bottom. It had been 8 yr & Cooper want the FBI to think he was dead so he could live his life. When he went to retrive the money from it's hiding place it was already DAMAGED so he couldn't spend it or what was left of it. What ever was left was that was spendable he washed in TAHOE. Then he put in a safe deposit box Omaha paying it forward for 10 yrs in March of 1980. YRs later when he needed to access the box - his drivers license under John Collins had expired. It was 1990 and his kidneys had failed (what was in that BOX was his insurance money). He was going on the machine - he had to get back to OMAHA and get the stuff out of that box. He went thru hell getting that damn license. First he went to one County and they told him he didn't have enough id. Then he goes straight to another County and actually got the DAMN license under JOHN Collins. The next day the Sheriff or HWY patrol knock on my door with a Picture of Duane asking me if I knew the man. NOT going into the details of this story as I have told it before. I go to the shop to ask him what this was all about and they barge in and arrest him. 1995 Duane dies and there is a drivers license for John Collins in the vehicle I sold. In 1996 I find out who DAN COOPER was purely by coicidence. I contact the FBI and it all starts. THEY actually took a pictures of the JOHN C. COLLINS license and a picture of the paper work with it - EVEN I didn't catch it. IT was a LEGAL FL drivers license and it was a re-issue of a lost license - He had obtained that in the next County over from the county he had gone to the first time. BOTH on the same day. He used that John Collins ID to access a Saftey deposit box in another state - a box he had paid forward for 10 yrs - that is why he made a trip I would not learn about until after he died...I told the FBI but they ignored me! COMPLETELY in 1998. CARR in 2002 told me it would take a federal warrant - well why didn't he tell me how much it would cost. With the drivers license of both JOHN and DUANE - the bank would have produce and/or told us if such a box was closed in 1990 by either one of those men. By the time I figured out how to do this the bank was closed...and the files did NOT exist....that was 2004. In 1996 there would have been files still available on a box opened in 1980/closed 1990....but HELL NO they would not do it...WHY I think there was a COVER UP! The fricking FBI did NOT give a hoot. If I had proven Weber was COOPER - they didn't want that to happen. WHAT SAY you the AGENT of RECORD NEVER told them about the BOX - that was CARR when he was on the thread. Previously they may have missed it just like I did. SO it was a damn cover up? Maybe 1st by error and later an AGENT who hoped I would just die an go away so he could solve the case. THE only other solution is it was a COVER ups since the yr ONE when I first contacted them in 1996. So what was it - WHY didn't they check out the BOX! Now it would really take a federal warrant and perhaps NOT even possible with boxes that old. Closed in 1990 that is 24 yrs NOW ---- THEY knew the files would be destroyed so many yrs after a bank box is closed and now the BANK does not even exist. There would not have been anything in it - it would be my proving I told them it did exist and when it was closed and under the name of John Collins. Blevins didn't get it right because he didn't do all of the research he needed to do before he jumped into a book - but, he has the decency to admit he did things wrong - but has a lot of time & money invested and needs to regain a little of that. Basically I think he is just HOOKED on the Cooper mystery at this time. He gets stuck in a rut - he is NEVER RUDE or BOLSTEROUS the way you are. The people he interviewed may very well have thought at the time KC could have been Cooper. They didn't expect the reprecussions that came down later and it was a little embarassing to admit they fell for it...but, I do NOT believe Blevins DELIBERATELY probagated a hoax. I also think he is very embarrassed he didn't see all of this coming, but he wrote the book so he defends it, but you will notice he has waivered on that for some time now! He knows he made mistakes - he just doesn't know how to fix them. Blevins feels some remorse he missed so much, but he NEVER bashes other people and is NEVER rude to them. His persistence can get a little annoying at time - but he tries to keeps an open mind...and is always polite. YOU BRUCE on the other hand do NOT care who YOU STEP ON or WHO you HURT.....EVERY Move you make is meant to do HARM. Blevins actually thought he had Cooper - he now has his doubts, but hopes they never find out who Cooper was and his book would not be a total loss. If you even bother to read his postings you will see he does have his doubts but, has to keeps promoting the book. THERE is aways that "WHAT IF" they never find Cooper. I know you didn't address to me, but since I too made some comments regarding Bruce...in the interest of disclosure - I happen to have a B.S. in Journalism and have written for a small midwest paper, submitted numerous feature articles published in sports related magazines including interviews with high profile personalities in the airshow and air race industry. The question of ethics in journalism has always been of interest to me as I had some very insightful classes on the subject...back when I went through the university system, we had to take one type of ethics related class just about every semester. That's how important they felt the topic was. A good interview is one that doesn't leave your footprints anywhere within the final product, and that's an honorable goal...opinions or editorializing the content have their place, but measures should be taken to differentiate your slant from the actual facts. It should be blatantly obvious that 'X' happened and is provable with facts or reliable sources & 'Y' is the writers take on the context. Most anything else is tabloid. Funny looking back to when I got my degree...there were those instructors that absolutely nailed the way much of what passes for journalism today 'would come about' in their warnings of what NOT to do back then. Slippery slope when the journalist injects himself into the story... When I studied journalism it was an honorable vocation when done well...one worked hard to establish and maintain a trust. No story was worth compromising your reputation. While a story very well can 'hurt' someone, a true journalist lets the facts of the story do that, they should never go out of their way to vilify or to slant their personal feelings into it...only a hack or a bully does something like that. Edited to add: To be clear ~ I'm not calling Bruce a hack or bully, in truth I've read only a small amount of his published product. I was just questioning the tactic he himself explained and then qualified. I didn't know then, and still may not fully understand the exact way & why he does what he does...but if my perception is correct - I don't agree with it. These so called writers forgets that the person who is being interviewed on a subject such at this - are only trying to explain their personal position. When a writer changes things or inflicts his or her personal views about the individual - it can be very harmful. The writer is setting himself up as judge and juror and decides what the court (the reader)will be informed of which is the writers own personal opinion based on his like or dislike of the individual or individuals he has interviewed. There should be a definite declaration stating the writer is changing what the person has said and that his statements are HIS opinions only and be able to address the opinion. To make an opinion based on argument within a public forum - should NOT be allowed because - then he would have to admit his own words were challenged not only by the person he is speaking negatively of but also reflect ALL other negative remarks - stated regarding his own reactions to said subject. Blevins has made NO derogatory remarks about Weber or me - not one that I can remember. Bruce inflicts HIS opinions and ignores anything I ever said or claimed. He cannot even write one unobjective page about Jo Weber without stressing his personal opinions of me. It is with this that I REQUEST he not mention Duane Weber or Jo Weber in any part of his book. More so I respectfully request that he not make any part of my search and/or Claims part of his book. I request he make NO references to the reader that would reflect his opinions about about my subject, my search and myself as he is unable to do so without inflicting his bastardly & warped opinions regarding anything I have ever said. He cannot distort and/or alter things to meet his opinionated goal regarding Duane Weber or the woman Weber made his confession to or to relate any discussions regarding me from this thread or that I have apposed in anyway. UP front - even though I might not have appreciated some of the remarks made about me by Gray. they were done to protect my privacy...He said NOTHING that would distract from my story or my claim - infact on the end he crawls into the RABBIT HOLE right along with me. None of you quiet understood why he handled that last chapter the way he did - but, I got it. Some of that came out in an interview he had with me in my home...and regarded a clipped article found in Duane's old wallet. Gray perhaps was NOT ready to write a book - but it was a subject that fasinated him and for a first attempt it was OK. AT LEAST he VICTIMIZED no one in his book and he did NOT inflict HIS personal OPINIONS or address the paranormal in relation to a REAL crime involving REAL people and individuals who have come forward about a sujbect He was very respectful of those he interviewed and whose lives have already been altered by their involvement regarding Cooper. The way BRUCE is doing his book - even if someone found a 20 dollar bill and a confession from a subject - they would NEVER want Bruce in the same room with them or even permit an interview. Bruce made many derogator personal remarks and pestered the victims directly & indirectly in ways that has been harmful to the indiviuduals and their families. Ex: Tina and her family, Cossey and his family and Jo and her family. HOW many more lives and how much more damage is a "writer" allowed to inflict on victims without being held accountable. Bruce needs to have LEGAL council before he publishes his book. I think a copy of this post should be made available to all of the victims, subjects, law enforcement (active and retired) and anyone who has a personal interest in the negative things Bruce has said - past and present, related to Cooper. It is NOT ALL about FREEDOM of press, but things done to deliberately inflame or harm others is a right that should not be attacked after the fact, but before the fact....when it is supposedly an informative article or book that involves many individuals. Freedom of press and deflamation of character seem to be apposing one another....there are boundary lines and you will note the media abides by certain rules and guide lines. Well, if Cooper was around certain individuals and had personal contacts with them and had been provided with limited training on the type chute he used - he could most certainly have made that jump. Jo, I have deleted a lot of your extraneous remarks from the above post. There were many copies made of the original Seattle ATC radio transcripts related to the hijacked flight. Really Bruce? I was trying to give ya the benefit of doubt regarding the issue of your ethics in journalism...but I think you're way off base if that's how you really feel. A civil servant has just as much right to privacy as any 'normal' citizen...a RETIRED one so much the more. Robert99 Those ATC transcripts were acquired by NW as they claimed they need them for insurance purposes, but supposedly PDX had a copy - a bunch of shit went missing. Did you ever read what I tried to tell regarding my conversation with a man at PDX? THINGS came up missing! I was told about a ATC out of Atlanta who was on loan to WA - I don't know if it was PDX or Seattle. One of the ATC's out of Atlanta had the only copy left of this. IF I told you how I know this you would think I was really OFF my ROCKER. I didn't understand the conversation from then - but now I do understand. . I didn't understand what was being picked up. It was the last copy - I thought it was a roller thing. I do not know what he did with it or who he was taking it to or who it was for. I have to be hallucinating...I remember what happened, but do not know who he was taking it to. I am not supposed to know this! It was which ever one of the airports that had a shortage of ATC at that time. The man was back in Alt. I didn't know what it was all about and now that I am remembering it - I am scared. I am not supposed to know these things. I didn't know what it was. GOD why am I remembering this shit. Why is all of the information necessary to determine the flight path of the hijacked airliner missing from the Seattle ATC transcripts? I had it I held it in my hands I asked what it was. Jo, We have been over this dozens of times before. And you are one of the first people to deny everything if it doesn't fit into you scenario for Duane being Cooper - which he was not! In reality, the hijacked airliner was under radar coverage from the Air Traffic Control people during its entire flight from Seattle to Reno. These are the people who were responsible for keeping the airliner from running into mountains and/or other airplanes. This is a civilian operated radar system and air traffic control system. There is no need for a military operated radar system to be involved in this exercise. And there is no realistic reason for believing that a military system was involved. In actual fact, the only missing minutes in the airliner's flight path were deliberately removed from the records so that the flight path could not be determined. Efforts have been underway for some time to get the complete flight path records. There is no law enforcement or legal reason for not revealing the actual contents of the radio communications between the airliner and the Seattle Air Traffic Control Center and the phone conversations between the responsible controllers. This information has already been released in its entirety for the communications between the airliner and the Oakland Air Traffic Control Center and its controllers. The above radio communications were broadcast on public radio frequencies that could be, and probably were in this instance, monitored by anyone who cared to do so. The communications between the airliner that were patched to the NWA Operations Center in Minneapolis, plus probably other locations, were over the Aeronautical Radio Corporation (ARINC) frequencies which are an entirely different radio network. After 42+ years of no real progress, the Cooper hijacking is going to remain unresolved until the un-redacted version of the Seattle ATC transcripts are released. Wild-eyed speculations by various people trying to generate support for their "favorite Cooper candidate" are utter nonsense. I was really glad to see that picture, it did my heart well. When I spoke with her in 2004 - she seemed very in control. Be assured the skyjack did NOT stop her life. I think the intermission came after her divorce and that was before she moved to Gresham. Right now I forget when her divorce was - and everyone has issues regarding a divorce. She like my daughter are old school regarding a divorce. I find it very difficult to believe she was a patient in that facility in 1979. I know if I had been her and living only a short distance from the money find and the fact it was on Tina's bar - I would have been terrified. After finding she had problems (per the media) and became a nun shortly after and of course Weber claiming to be Cooper....I was extremely worried about her - wish I had seen this picture yrs ago. In 2004 on the phone her voice was very soft and timid - so I felt responsible for the way her life had come around. I had worried about her for yrs - that picture indeed set me free. 1979 - Duane mentions knowing a woman who lived in Gresham. 1995 - Duane tell me he is Dan Cooper 1996 - I learn Dan Cooper was D.B. Cooper 1997 - I learned Tina had problems in 1980 after the money find and had gone into a convent. So I carried this weight on my shoulder - and in 2004 Robbie Clampett provided me with a phone number and finally after several months I called it. All these YRs I felt responsible for her - she looks like she is able to take care of herself and with no problems....There is still a resemblance to my daughter even in that photo. I had feared that Duane had gone to where she stayed in Gresham and left something to let her know he had been there. If he did it was not intended to frighten her...and yes, I do believe leaving money on Tina's bar was symbolic. Maybe Cooper was trying to set her free making it appear Cooper had died. That is what I would like to believe, but I feared he had left something that frighten her although it would not have been his intentions. I still would like to know if that photo of the little girl in the book was her and if the book was hers. I did ask someone to be sure she saw the most recent photos acquired of Weber, but have never been told if they were shown to her. If she has been shown the pics and the book - I would love to know, but I refuse to intrude into her life. It was a vow I made and I have been true to my word. I knew I could not even ID after 25 yrs 2 classmates I had gone to school with for 12 yrs...and have always felt Tina would not recognize Cooper if he was sitting in a restuarant at the next table. All of these yrs one person begged me to have Tina call her - but I was afraid this person would never leave her alone....so I kept what was provided to me by RobbieClampett to myself!
