Probably the VERY best STATEMENT made in regards to the lack of any investigation made in the last few yrs. Odd to others - you compared the Alcatraz Escape to Cooper, but then NOT odd to me at all. I thought this man was one of the Escapees, but I was told NO WAY! Guess I just see things no one else does - but, then who was he? Your "investigation" of KC was a complete FRAUD! You have distracted the public and the thread long enough! Even when faced with the FACTS - you continue to banter and offer excuses. Perhaps you are part of the COOPER COVERUP actions - but that is not the case - YOU are into this for a STORY, regardless of whose image you damage. Your 'witnesses' and the thread and every place that has helped probagate your "story" should take actions against you. Perhaps the same thing can be said about Jo Weber (me), but I have not made one penney off of this - I refused the book offers and a movie offer. My battle has been to PROVE he was Cooper and if Weber was not Cooper - he took me on the longest and most time consuming venture few would dare travel. The more I learned the more I wanted to know My reasons for going forward are completely different than those you projected. I am tired of the battle and I am tired of YOU and others LIKE you. At least I lived with and knew the subject Duane L. Weber. I have learned things about Weber I do not like, but that does NOT change the person he became. It is late in my life and I have never wanted ANYTHING other than to know who he really was. I have learned a lot about Weber - but, they only enforced the obstactles he over came. It is a given - he was no COWARD and he helped a lot of PEOPLE and was very focused...YET, he was as some have said "A COMMON CRIMINAL". Well, I think perhaps he was a VERY UNCOMMON CRIMINAL - he did manage to turn his life around. There was only ONE person in all of the individuals from Duane's Past I was able to find that called him a BASTARD or had BAD memories of him. All I have is the word of the person making the claim...but the situation got pretty nasty. There are alway 2 sides to a story! YES, I do believe he was Cooper and if by some slim chance he was not then he knew WHO Cooper was. If the FBI is completely positive without any doubt he was not Cooper - THEY need to investigate those individuals in his past and who he knew! After I posted the above yesterday and those who might be in the know changed the direction of the thread very quickly to make the above subject go POOF! The Camp Siebert thing has always bugged me and I had forgotten about the CO's contained on that base in a separate facilities some ways away from the actual base activities. An area that was later claimed to be contaminated. I do NOT even know the location of all of my old files on Camp Siebert - as they might be in the storage rental. I did keep a limited file on hand and I can't even find that at this time. I remembered the story about some of the experiments - and the victims had to be sure they didn't keep them enclosed over the time limits set by the testing authorities. WHY having a watch was very important! The FBI kept denying that Weber was ever in the ARMY and at Camp Siebert. It was only the letter Duane wrote to his parents requesting they keep his location secret. Some of the things I never told about Duane Weber now make sense - the trip we made to Ft. Benning and the man he went to see in a small town not far from there. The quarters he pointed out saying that is where we stayed and just over to another area was where they jumped. These human guinea pigs were allowed facilities and recreation w/training that might allow them to be serviceable for other means. The CO's were third class citizens as far as the military was concerned and used for menial positions that meant they were a human body being utilized for the war effort. The guys just didn't have to KILL someone and were considered cowards... Many of them went into the medical field and other occupations. The WAR effort was consuming that generation and until the guys started to come home - things had to be done and the CO's were the manpower that filled the gaps left state side. Did Cooper have a GRUDGE! WHY did Tina ask him that question! When Duane came up as a suspect the FBI claimed he was NEVER in the army. Had it not have been for my persistence and the brother making a copy of that letter - I would NEVER have been able to prove Duane was at Camp Siebert. When I confronted the FBI was in 2000 and right now I do not remember the date Duane's brother sent me that letter. I believe I know the conversation John was going to have with me in 0004 in CA. Duane was an embarassment to his family - because of his inability to perform during WAR time. The FBI had nothing to do with the concealment of the file and may have been unaware of it other than my insistence. The Army number was not even available on military records UNTIL a brilliant young man actually went and found the ARMY number - but NO file. This may explain a mysterious trip Duane made and monies made available in 1989 or 1990. The period of time we spent in the Birmingham area was a dark period - Duane seemed different, but I just could not put my finger on it. I thought it was the stress of the kidney machine looming in the near future and his not being able to provide his share of the income. The trip back to FT. Benning did NOT happen until he went on the kidney machine - he had to go back and face his demons. The phycologist probably was told everything and was a kidney transplant patient himself. Duane had to realize his situation was hereditary and not inflicted on him. This explaines that very DARK period. MORE important was the fact the authorities were adamant Weber had never been in the Army - yet he had an ARMY number on file and that file was his file. I expect the PC became apparent during the Camp Siebert era of his life and then he became a career criminal. NO one would hire him with his record. Then in 1962 he meets someone who gave him the opportunity to be all he could be - but, they utilizied the fact he was a bad boy and that is when all of the N.Orleans things came down. He was expendible! He proved to be loyal and a survior and able to keep secrets - he was rewarded for this. Remember Duane ended up with good job and a decent income - not on not on the streets or in prison as others as other with his background had gone that directions. 1962 to 1966 - he was John Collins and even encarcerated under that name in 1966 until 1988. THEN he ends up STAYING out touble & the FBI even denied he was in Jefferson until I hounded them on it. There is more than one explanation for the background of Weber - but, it is certainly not in the norm anyway you look at it. Jo, did you do the oatmeal tests but substituting Fiber One and Wheaties as requested? My diet is 100% Gluten Free! So are my tests and my cooking. I can make some mean pancakes without Gluten and Cookies to die for. I make my recipes up myself - the beat the hell out of the ones in the books. Mostly fruits and vegetables and a small amount to meat. The gluten free cakes are a big flopp - 8 yrs at this and they are edibile but not repeatable. *** Per a letter to his mother, it seems Duane willingly went into the Army, but one has to wonder! He got kicked out in a few wks and we never could find out if it was something he did or if they found out about the Bad Conduct Discharge from the Navy! They are investigating Weber for the first unsolved skyjacking and they can't even get his criminal and military records straight.... AND without the letter he wrote from the base we never would have found his Army records! Acutally ALL we got was the serial number - the standard form. Take a GOOD look at the history of CAMP Siebert! THE FBI and the VA denied his Army Status even after I had the papers from Washington and until I took action myself in 2000! THE Army record remained a puzzle, but it is NO puzzle anymore. Duane's existence at Camp Siebert was denied until I produced the letter. This has bugged me all of these yrs. What was so secret about his supposed army record that could not be released? The military just cannot keep up with the internet. There is NO reason for there NOT being a record and then finding a record after I produced the letter. Plus there WAS NO reason to withhold the file from me at that point. Weber was a guinea pig at Camp Seibert and not in Chemical Warfare Training as his letter to his mother indicated. He needed his watch - not for timing, but to protect himself with. I thought the letter sound ODD - he was writing in code. Why did she send him a dollar? It was war time and the guys were sending money home and no one was sending money to the service person. Read some of the letters sent home by the CO's. Some of them have a very similar sound to them. Read about the experiments they conducted on the CO's! A friend of the family saw Duane at Camp Siebert and contacted his brother. Perhap Duane decide Jail was better than what he was facing. I and others could not figure out how he got into the Army after being kicked out of the Navy. A part of Camp Siebert was a big secret. Other CO's wrote home similar letters as they could NOT tell what was being done to them....these guys chose to let horrible things be done to them rather than have to KILL someone else. I was never able to understand the range of friends Duane had - ex-cons - I understood, but some of the others - I was never able to wrap my mind around. His compassion for others and yet he was a common criminal....he was a bad guy, but he never harmed anyone. You are on the streets and you are hungry & cold - you can't get a job picking apples because you have a record. One thing led to another and another. Definitely Duane had some behaviour problems early on as a child and yet, he was a GOOD person. All of that seemed alien to me when I found out about the extensive prison records. I have spent a lot of time trying to understand his records and what happened to him. Even the FBI and the authorities over the yrs - were confused regarding this man's records...they were very convoluted. TSo - yea, I guess you could say he had a grudge. Why - WA, because it was the ONLY good yrs of his life up until 1971. His yrs with THE GUYS and then HE reconnects with the GUYS for a couple of yrs as JOHN....makes some good money and then tries to go straight. The Italian in KANSAS got him the job selling insurance with friend of his - Pyramid LIFE. Well, Duane had some hard times and he was dipping his hands into the company money - so he went back to prison....but that was the LAST time. He knew if he stayed with the current wife - he would be right back in prison - but in the short term he had little choices... The cycle would go on and on for ever. No one would hire him with his record - he had screwed up his life. He had been in the hospital and it was confirmed that he did INDEED have the same disease his mother died of. He was angry about his life and about his choices. When he made the decision to pull the big one - that was made in JEFFERSON. Was there another party - maybe. The Story moves on to AL and then in the fall of 1971 - he just walked out the door and didn't go back....he couldn't provide for his step children or his wife or himself. Try this - when you get to CO records and some of the interlinking military records...that seem of interest. Copy words or names and then try the search again within those same sites & other sites. The internet is eroding the military CYA options. Hell, it has been a lot of yrs - it is NO longer demeaning to the family for others to know their father or the Retired Mayor was at one time a CO. IT is time to RELEASE the fricking files. Snowden was doing this and he is classified a traitor and there have been others a little more selective about the doors they opened - hence the SLOW release of information from the 50's - such as AWARE and it's involvement in Area 51...IT is too slow for me and I can't wait. Only then did they admit their error & refused to make their error public - like getting the Army number INCORRECT and stating Weber was never in the Army. Had to buy a new MOUSE today. My old mouse went by the wayside....this new wireless is getting best out of my old fingers and my joints. Still have the old pad thing so maybe I need a new one that is easier to slide on. Using the top of the desk I am flying all over the place. Just too OLD for all of these new gadgets. We have explored many things about the skyjacking but we have done little about WHY he chose the things he chose. 1. N.W Airlines? JO: I think he was familiar with them and had worked on the planes in some capacity such as a Catering Service, Cleaning service & maintenance maybe even service the Oxygen tanks. 2. The WA area? JO: Weber had a history in WA with people, forestry, prisons and a personal relationship with some one who lived there. 3. Why he chose NOV 24 - Thaimportant to him such as his birthdate nkgiving eve. JO: The death of someone close to him or a date that was very - I think some how the 24th was symbolic and remember Thankgiving didn't fall on that day every yr. 4. The Grudge thing was just a reply to some thing Tina asked - but what was his reason for skyjacking a plane? JO: Yrs spent in prison and it started in WA - and probably the best yrs of his life. 5. Did Cooper just throw a dart at a map? JO: I do NOT believe WA was just a random selections. He knew happiness there and perhaps that is where he wanted to die. Plus he had just had the polycystic kidney disease comfirmed the yr before in GA. 6. That particular plane - this was evident as he verified the type of plane when he bought the ticket. JO: The family connections to the plane - none of which anyone has acknowledged. His brother and his Uncle were involved with Boeing and the 727 - only the builders, designers and others can comfirm this, but no one seemed to want to advance this subject. Then or now! How do we find the records. His brother was living inWA at that time and working with Boeing. Old friends of the family lived in WA and worked with and for Boeing. 7. Cooper had to have known the area. JO: He was imprisoned there and he stayed in the area in the 40 and then back to the area in the 50's and his wife had connections to WA . 8. Cooper held back as last to board, like he was afraid of being I.D.ed. JO: definitely was afraid someone might remember him. 9. He had knowledge of the plane - how? JO: YES per answers to the above questions. His brother who knew Gilliam were intimately involved with Boeing. 10. What drove him to choose that plane, Wa and that particular flight. JO: ALL of the above, plus it was a place he felt good about - it was a place he had fond memories of and it was his choice to die there if that was his intention...Knowledge of the area and perhaps Thankgiving because he had NO Family to turn to and the desparation of his situtation - pehaps he blamed his mother whose best friedn lived in WA. The friend who was indirectly responsible for his family moving to CA. It was a place of HAPPY MEMORIES! It was the place people reach out to help him...and a place he fell in love with. The look on his face when we there in 1979 was one of fond memories and not just of the skyjacking - he was reliving his prior past there. Just my two Cents worth. A. What was Duane's connections to Puyallup? G. What was Duane's connections to Spokane and Coure d Alene? H. Duane had 2 son-in-laws in WA in the late 60's/early 70's - one at McChord. J. Duane knew every tower and every creek, Power line, Dams and the Microwave towers and bodies of water and cemetaries and gravel pitts. He didn't use a map in 1979. K. What was so fascinating about a place behind the Seattle Airport that used to be an old hotel...two stories high and in 1979 had been converted to office building? L. Who did he know at the Shnomisk Airstrip just north of Seattle? J. Who did he fly with up and down the coast line on trips to Alaska and what kind of experiments was he talking about? Something about he made a mistake with a knot in a rope. k. How did he know were all of the camps were? L. How and why was he so familiar with The Dalles, Goldendale, Vancouver, Woodlands (a place all the guys used to eat). M. An area over on the Beach - a park they worked on and stayed at. N. Every high place and every tower - and he spewed off the name like he had been there for every. M. ALL of the power lines and Pipelines/ N. Bar - Dollars Corner, inside the Washougal loop and Orchards. O. Every small airport & strip and every tower. K. A house off of LaCames Lake and the name of the boys. L. The caretaker at the Ledbetter home. M. The rails and the rail cars N. Battleground Lake and ever kind of Tower. O. Camps and fishing cottages. P. How the power was controled for the DAMs. Q. He told me all about the dams and how they were built and the channels. R. The boys at Beacon Rock and the Washougal and the beach. S. That a certain musician gave his firs live performance in The Dalles. T. The boys who picked apples and worked the CC's at Mt. Hood. U. The small airports in WA and Oregon...the small town near Redmond called Prineville the boys used to eat at. V. The moving of heavy equiptment near or on an Indian Reservation in Yakima. W. Every Indian reservation in Or and Wa. X. Specific places in WA - the house on the river across from the PDX - Topper Dr, Lieser Point or Image Lane - the old house would ahve been on one of the roads on the Columbia river prior to 1979 as there was NO home there in 1979. Y. Find who owned homes on those roads in 1971 that was NOT there in 1979 and you will find the roots of Cooper...or perhaps a glimps of who he was. Z. Find out how Weber knew the locations of the airstips and how he knew the owners and how he knew were very ficking tower was. Who was the WE who used to fly in and out of there...multiple airstrips. Find the answers to these and you will have NO doubt who Cooper was. In the past I have name names in connection to the airstrips but My mind will no longer let me continue to hold on to these memories. I am tired! I need for all of the HYPE to stop and for the FBI or some historian to provide me with the answers to all of these things. Who was Duane L. Weber, John C. Collins and other multiple names - this guy did NOT obtain the knowledge he had of WA in a few months of incarcerations in the system. Remember I was telling about the woman who rode horses before BLEVINS ever told his story and why I HAVE begged to be able to contact her - but BLEVINS will not allow that or for me to talk to someone who knew her - so she could see a picture of Weber from the day. He is waiting until she is dead and senile and probably is already. I do not need to talk to her, but she needs to see the early pictures of Weber and hear the story he told about her - then let her say if she remembers him. If I added all the other things Weber told me - about people and the area - it would be repetitious and I am VERY tired. Some one like Blevins could actually have stumbled upon the connections of Weber to WA - but his all inself and for gain - doesn't care about the people - that has been shown by his continued references to them, I am SICK and SICK of all of the continued - Oh it will pass and NO explanations of HOW and when Weber could have had such vast knowledge of the area. Even I did NOT realize how much and how much territory his stories covered until I went out in 2010. BUT it is all there and the secret lies within the historians, the forestry, the prisons system and anyone with a story to tell of the days - to for one time BAN together and LET'S GET THIS DAMN SHOW ON THE ROAD ONE LAST TIME! Present the things I have told and ALL pictures to the public in WA. with NO BIAS nor trying to connect anyone person to the skyjacking - ASK WASHINGTON to finally ban to gether and seach the old family albums and talk to those that are still alilve. EVEN I know it is too late, but 17 yrs ago it was NOT too LATE! THERE were individuals still alive, but I had NO way of reaching them and having them hear the story in its entirety. Margie Bouled did what she could - but, I didn't have the information I finally accumulated in 2010...now I can't finish this project, I just have to hope for the best & that someone will have is holding the key to open the doors and secrets of the the past. This needs to be over with and not in 2025 - It needs to be over with now - this yr 2014...as early in the yr as possible. I need for it to be over - I need for the FBI to finally be accountable and for anyone out there with holding information to be accountable....Who Dan Cooper was has NEVER been a REAL secret. DO U ever listen to anything or anyone other than yourself... the CHEMICAL WARFARE has been talked before. Duane Uncle helped develope it in WWI. Then there was the Balloon BOMBS in WA in WWII and at that time His Uncle was CALLED up again but served it as it in Public Service ( he had children and worked for Sherwin Williams). Duane hit an officer in war time in the Navy - and then he got booted out if the NAVY. Remember the FBI was adamant that Duane had never been in the Army and then when called down by me in 2000 claimed they have his army number wrong (HELL they had a copy of it from the records so how did the make that kind of mistake). At any rate finally they looked at the file AGAIN after the agent said SOMEONE had come in and he would call me back in a few hours. When he called back he said they had a NUMBER incorrect. Now HOW do you do THAT. It was 2000 and they dismissed Duane in 1998 and said DUANE had never been in the ARMY. Bare in mind it is then 2000 and I am the one who has to call them on the BOARD! If Doug Pasternac had not found the Army record - they WOULD never have corrected that part of their investigation. His wife and a new reporter had to find the ARMY Record - one the FBI denied since 1996 and until March of 2000. WHY! Without the letter he wrote from the base we never would have found his Army records! It took actually going to the ARCHIVES. THE FBI and the VA denied his Army Status even after I had the papers from Washington and until I took action myself in 2000! All the VA would tell me even after that was - YOU ARE NOT LISTED AS A RELATIVE. I HAD TO TELL THE MAN - THAT I WAS ONLY 3 YRS OLD WHEN DUANE WAS IN THE ARMY AND I DIDN'T MEET HIM UNTIL 1977 AND MARRIED HIM IN 1978. I wanted a detailed record of his Army stay - it was denied. WE did get the details of his Navy record. Because of the way they handled it - he may have been there on the other side of the Chemical Warfare - & not wanting his parent to know this.... I never received any verification just one piece of paper indicating he was in the Army for a few wks...and discharge as an undesirable. OH, WELL, if someone can get records GO FOR it. WE couldn't! Life's a BITCH and then we DIE. The 25 yr thing is a REAL BITCH since we were told he was NOT a CO, but other things state differently. So was he in the ARMY willingly or was he there as a CO and being experimented on. A lot the CO's hid their status from their families so they would NOT worry about what was happening to them. FRANKLY what the CO's did was actually pretty damn brave. HAVE any of you read about the experiments they allow to be done on their bodies? I is GRUESOME. HAVE you seen the pictures of the bones and skin and the lesions? WE do know such was such experiments were being done in AL within Camp SIEBERT. The government didn't want to acknowledge that CHEMICAL warfare was being experimented on there. It was actually a pretty big secret back then about what they were submitting these CO's to - probably they were told to write the letters they wrote home...I can try to scan the letter and post it. When he was called up again he served his time in PUBLIC SERVICE As he had children....and perhaps second thoughts about being pulled in this part of the war again. This question was not asked of me, but I will provide a suggestion. 1. If Cooper had participated in recent jumping and was a known jumper - someone would have suggested that person be looked at. 2. Cooper could be an unknown with some training but NOT known to the general public as a jumper. 3. The choice of chutes says he was old school. 4. Smoke jumpers did NOT always make the grade and just because they might have been injured in their 1st attempts to jump - did NOT in the 50's and 60' put them OUT of the loop.... 5. The best packers were NOT jumpers. They were taught the fundamentals and it was best if they could serve a dual purpose but that was NOT always the case. Most times they were also given medial jobs such as Cooking or cleaning and clearing and laundry and supply rooms. 6. Not everyone involved in the smoke jumpers - ended up being a jumper. They built the training equipment - all they needed was the desire and the means. The helped build the housing and used to clear and handle the edges of the fires - they did NOT have to be a smoke jumper to be involved. 7. Never forget the spotters - they would purposely look for someone who was far sighted - they made better spotters...this would also have provided Cooper with some training. The spotters had to be able to use a chute - but you will notice not all spotters wore a chute. Do you know why? 8. I didn't understand a picture Duane showed me - but it was a packing room for chutes. A similar picture has been publicized but not an exact picture. 9. Often the guys used for the purposed above were those who washed out. Most were sent down the road - but with family connection - some of these guy were retained for the medial jobs. 10. Go find the clues that have been infront of you guys all of these yrs...If you refuse to look at the exceptions you will loose. It is like gambling - you have to be able to take the chances. 11. Retrace the family and history of Richard "paperlegs" Petersen and you will find Cooper. Cooper was not a jumper. 12. Those who do not look under the ROCKS will never know. Take the 12 steps and find his name, but not his name. CC's often housed and used young men who were associated with the crew manager or relatives and friends of those and find the others....Even in those days young men were salvaged by family members in the attempt to create the reforms that are used even now. I recently posted about a dream when I fell asleep on the couch - during the day - which is a common occurence as of the last few months. That dream - I heard Doug Pasternac's very distinguishable voice saying "Jo, Jo wake up - it is not time yet". I left a message for Doug about the dream and then he called me and we had a SHORT conversation. Today I had an appt with the Temite people to inspect my home and was awake at 8:30 and did my usual routine - coffee and reading the paper. After the termite people left I decided I felf very tired and instead of falling asleep on the couch - decided to go crawl in the bed. Did NOT expect to fall asleep - but I did. This was around 12 noon, but at 2:30 I was struggling to escape the strangest dream I have ever experienced. I had taken NO medications other than my Vit E, a Bone density and a Calcium Tab. I had NOT been able to get the chill out of my bones and why I crawled back into the bed during the middle of the day. The Dream: Remember dreams are combinations of the past and the present and usually one can never remember the entire dream. This dream was past and present all in one dream. I am younger but Duane is already deceased. I am in WA (presumably). It is an apt. and a young man lives there - someone who I spent some time with talking about Cooper..he has to leave and told me I could stay for awhile to make some phone calls & do some emails ( it was obvious I was probably staying in a hotel or motel). He returns as I am leaving. In the first part of the dream I only knew the man was much younger than myself. When he returns and I tell him about something I left for him - weirdly in the bottom of something that resembled a nightstand but in the living room...It was something I had found (I now have NO idea what it was other than it was about Cooper). The point of the dream is the man. He is making movements - what I would call involuntary movements with his head and his arms and hands. Some things snap and I was feeling fear...but recognition. I wanted to get out of there fast - I do not know what Galen Cook looks like, but that is thought after awakening that went thru my mind - I know I have leave and leave fast. I was flashing back to a much younger man who I had met thru Duane, but without the movements. Suddenly this young man in the dream is ominous to me. He was slightly taller than myself - which in my past was 5'7 1/4". So this guy was less than 6 ft. Dark hair. He suddenly became familar to me and I realized a certain man must have been his father...who was a friend of Duane's and he had known who Cooper was all along...he seemed alarmed I had come upon the secret! The man was too young to have been Cooper - at least in the dream. JUST a dream - or was it more? Perhaps just the end stage of my life and the fatigue I continuosly feel. It is 7;30 pm here and I will fall asleep as soon as I lie back down on the couch to watch TV. JUST a dream - but, my dreams are never about Cooper, just about Duane or something else. There is a poster on this thread I will not identify by name, but want to know if any of you who have met a man in WA who fits the description of the man in my dream. Slender early 40's, but it was a dream - he was either the son of Cooper or someone related to a person who knew Cooper over 40 yrs ago....since I seemed to be younger this person might be my age but still have known Weber. This man talked the way I believe Gray Cop would talk - the way he writes - broken in segments and riddles. Seemingly to breaking up his speech and with loss of segments of what he is saying.
