I deleted my post - because I found serious error there. The name on the card when I pulled it was not the same. His name was Edwards - and then Male Nurse. Not Nurse Edwards. The name and the dates seemed right and I jumped before I looked at the old wallet. It had been a long time since I pulled that old wallet out....it was for only a moment but it was like reaching for a star and I thought I had found it. THere are 2 other names on there - that I am going to research - to see what else I can find on them. I don't want to jump the gun on either one of those. Harris and Pennington. You will hang this on me forever, but at leasrt I caught my own error - I was reaching for the stars, but it was the wrong person. As soon as I pulled the old card - and read it I came back to pull the post and YOU had already repeated it....now I will hear that one till the end of time. I didn't know what you expected me to find on that site. I had been there yrs ago, but now there are new deaths listed. I was there yrs and yrs ago and it looked nothing like the site it is now. I had communicated with the man who was there yrs ago and I assume he is still incharge. There is a lot more there now....but and my communications with him date yrs ago. You're mixing to different types of parachuting up. Oddly, Jo some of the posts and memories, appear to be word for word lines from this web page. http://smokejumpers.com/index.php Matt When you say I am mixing up types of parachutes - what are you referring to. If you are referring to Paperlegs - he was military and he was a smokejumper and military. Yes, he was using smokejumping stuff in the 1960, but Intermountain was some kind of military thing. If you are referring to Cossey - that might be right, but as there has been a lot of confusing information on that stand point. What it finally came down to was who was re-imbursed for what on the chutes, but the government. Bruce added to this confusion as he knew nothing like myself about chutes. I am going to that site to see what you are talking about. I don't ever try very hard anymore since my puter is so slow now and with the aol - I get kicked off before it downloads. THanks. I no longer feel like making fun of myself or being detered from the things I do know. Check it out - the incident did happen and I am going to call my N.W. connections and find out very soon. I would not know if the watch had anything to do with this - but, it was the watch that caused me to remember the power glitch at the dam. So I do believe there is a power bigger and mightier than anything I have ever known driving right now. Had I not have been bugged about the Watch - I would never have recalled the damn glitch with the grids. Hell I didn't know what a grid was. Simple Simon that I am! It is just the flood gate has opened on memories recently and they just keep coming...but they were thing I discuss with other along the way - but only in passing. You and the world thinks I am crazy and I will not dispute that this thing make me feel like I am crazy, but nothing is made up. I did see that picture you could not find - it was in 2000 on a search I did trying to find smokejumpers & prisons & foresty..I had looked up San Quentin that night. I had only had my computer a couple of months and spent every spare moment trying to learn it and to do searchs. I can see that picture very clearly in my mind - 3 men - but the program did not ever start - but there was that picture and the statements under it. There was no article attached to it.... I KNOW people think I am a NUT CASE, but I know what I have told is true. If I told you I was making it all up - that would be a lie! I am not delusional at all - I go a little berserk with this once in awhile and off on tangents that go no where, but what I am doing now is recalling memories - not explorations as I have been known to do - hoping that exploration will lead to a logical conclusion. How do I find if this watch is 1970 or 1971? I have been searching but found nothing. If it was valuable surely it was reported stolen. This remark was also made regarding the Dam and the microwave grids. A man lost his job because of the qluich - the thought he had left his station without relief. If all of this is really true - then perhaps there is a ghost in my house. But, what is here is my memories - something is PUSHING me to finish this while I can - that I have to tell all that I know before it is too late. Duane knew the man! I must be crazy. Today my phenomenal memory found a mention of a very stort article regarding the night of Nov. 24, 1971. There was a glich /breach in the microwave communications at the Dams - one of the systemd had only been in operational a short time. It was brief and happened on the night of the Skyjacking. I do not remember if it was something written or stated - but, it was talk if it had anything to do with the Plane being so low. Duane mentioned the Cascade Locks and about working on a damn. Hell, it sounds like he was all over - but I have only been there 3 times in my wholed life. 1. With Duane in 1979 2. With a production crew 2001 3. In 2010 all by myself - just wandering around. I want to get intouch with the News Papers there - I need verification this brief bleep occurred. You guys think I am a fricking nut and all I have to prove I am not is my memory and the things Duane said and the things I remember from the other trips. Yea, I am a blooming idiot when it come to searches and capabilities, but never challenge my memory when it flood back in the waves. I am riding one of those waves - so HELP me find this. Please. I was using the gyromatic which requires NO battery just put it on set it and go. There was a brief post about the 1970 being the first and then 1971 was different with the Girard Perrigo. This post was taken down almost as soon as it went up - I believe 377 made the post. There are pictures of Duane with this watch on as early as 1973. So how does a dirty scum bag have a watch like that. Strange thing is the band is NOT the original or I would not think so - and this band was on the watch in a 1973 photo. Hardly logical they used a Spiedel band on such a watch. So how did the original band get damaged and does anyone have pictures of such a watch. I sent a picture of this watch to the FBI several months ago - but they did NOT even acknowledge it. How many were produced in 1970, 1971 and 1972 - Duane hardly existed in 1970 and 1971 with littel income, but ever with the income of 1972 he culd not have afforde such a watch. The other watch is just a cheap watch - that is winding and does not run...it was the one I thought might have belonged to his father or himself. Georger this watch DOES not use a battery. Laugh all you guys want, but Duane never wore these watches after I gave him just an ordinary watch...and was upset with me when I headed to work with it on. My watch was not working - I assure you he made sure I had a watch the next day...this was after we had moved to - in 1988. ONE of you great researcher should be able to find that comment about the dam breach the night of the skyjacking. Georger - I have been trying for yrs to understand this. NO one has shared any information with me. I have stressed the importance of the Gyro and the quartz watch for yrs...but never understood it could possibly have any meaning until I found out 3 wks ago that 3 dams controled the grids thur a microwave signal. ONly then did this start to make some kind of sense...but I still do NOT know what, just that it was important and Duane had told me about the microwave controls at the dams. NOTE: He had pointed out every tower in the area - fire and warning and others - so why would I think this was any different? NOT until 3 wks ago. I still do NOT understand what it means other than the skyjacker or someone on the ground had a way of communicating and/or knowning their location. Geoger NO one provided me with anything....and I have NO idea how or what category to have looked anything up. There are 2 watches - one is a gyromatic (does NOT use batteries) and the other was just a cheap old watch that was a windup. That cheap watch did not run and I wondered I did ask Duane why he kept it. His remark was - I thought I would take it apart and remove the jewel. I did NOT understand that, but that is what he said. I have since taken the watch apart - but found no jewel so I didn't even know what I was looking for. In a recent discussion with someone who was working for the power company in the 60 & 70's told me the dams used Microwave to control the power grids. I had called about something all together different. I did NOT understand this, but it caused me to remember something Duane said on that trip & something I have told, but never attached any thing to it. Duane told me about the mircowave tower, but I did not understand ever what a microwave tower was....in 1979 or if it was of any significance. I have mentioned this before in the thread. I have tried to explain this to these guys before and with forest fires - you do NOT want to be separated from your equipment. Paperlegs Petersen was one of the first and best to teach these guy how to go in and manuver away from the fires and down drafts and release the equipment just before hitting ground. Picture attached - the one DUANE WEBER left in a safe deposit box I KNEW nothing about! Paperlegs was using this method before 1962 when he was in the N.W. with firejumping. Then he was recruited to head up Intermountain Communications out of CO, AZ, WA, OR and NV - the training was done in many places and with different climates. The training head quarters was Canon, Leadville and a place north of Ft. Collins (I forget the name of it right now). Intermountain communications was shut down in 1973. SIMPLIFY! Hayden owned both chutes, Cossey packed them. They had to be repack due to the expiration date. Hayden had them for his plane...never used them. Carried to meet regulations. The 2 front packs came from another location - one was dummy. Hayden's chutes were at Cossey's house when the call came in for 2 chutes - he had 2 chutes he had just repacked for Hayden to meet regulations! NOW this DON'T come from Bruce. Long time ago conversation with Cossey. I spoke to Hayden before 2000. Mr. H had put me intouch with him - no computer in those days of my research. Call to Hayden on my long distance itemized bill. Notes in margin. Did NOT talk to Cossey until this thread - he was real nice, but could be a bear....he sent me some great picks. He packed the chutes and delivered them - he sent me picks of the hardware on the chutes. I did this when 377 and I were talking about the hardware on this thread. There was bad blood between Hayden and Cossey over the chutes. These are simple FACTS. To many people tell too many stories and get their stories all mixed up and some just to see their story in print. Too much embellishments in the details to make a story - done over the yrs and of recent for promotion purposes. This is plain & simple - When Bruce printed his article I just read it with ROLLING eyes - and some OH MY GOD's. Writers liberties are taken way to far. Note I stayed out of ALL of those conversations - just read and kept my mouth shut. NOW I will SPEAK UP! I have ONLY one question in regards to the chutes. Since it WAS not Cossey's chute and he was packing them so Hayden would meet regulations - WHY DID he DO a LEFTHAND pull on one of the CHUTES????? He never answered that question - so maybe Hayden can. SEEMS like an ODD thing to do on CHUTES no one ever used and ONLY carried for regulation purpose or a problem with the plane. WHY a left hand pull? BET the FBI didn't even question this! YOU guys get caught up in details that you cannot prove. Hayden either had to ask Cossey to do a left hand pull - but it stands to reason they were only for regulation purposes and Hayden didn't jump...and hoped he never had to use them. WHY was ONE RIGGED for a left hand pull? Between Cossey and Hayden there was bad blood after the jump - but, why? WHY was Cossey killed - maybe it wasn't just an accident? Where does Hayden LIVE? WHERE did Hayden live in 1971? What was Hayden's background? Answer these questions and someone might have a chance to solve this damn thing. I suggest someone contact Hayden and NOT BRUCE - he engarnishes for his benefit. Someone who knows CHUTES - like 377. Provide 377 with Hayden's info....and he better HURRY. At Hayden's age - every moment counts. WHY loose the last chance anyone has of finding the truth - WHAT was the REAL story behind the CHUTES. The number I have is 17 yrs old. Note: Cossey was killed after Bruce wrote his article on Hayden! Everyone has LOST the FOCUS and accepted what OTHERS have claimed instead of GOING to the HORSES mouth. Since Hayden was paid for the chutes - they must have been his....documentation was presented. WHY did Cossey claim they were his chutes? Too much he said she said and bull cocky and people just wanting to be a part of something they know squat about. If TRUE why did Cossey claim the chutes where his and WHY was there a LEFT hand PULL on one of the chutes he packed. Cossey told a lot of LIES -WHY? Was Cossey intending to use the chute and a jump it himself before returning it to Hayden? Did Cossey substitute a chute he had for the one he was packing for Hayden? WHY do a LEFT hand PULL on chutes that would only be used in an emergency. How would he know the preferences. Hayden only stated he hope he never had to use them. This is what I am trying to tell you - you don't have to see them. The damn watch tells you when you going thru them near them or around them....probably beeps, but I hear no peeps on the watch. These are NOT towers to talk from - They are towesr that TALK to EACH OTHER to control the amount of power going down the lines. They send messase to each other. Let someone else explain it - what I know is elementary - but it is how the system worked. The woman knew how they worked Quiet often beeps come in whewhen plane are in the area - the plane is getting that same peep with the right equipment. towers to release and govern the power needed. Well, there are things not addressed in the Microwave that I was referring to. Number one the Microwave towers I am referring to was operational on all three Dams along the Lewis. These systems were completely different. They controled the power lines somehow. I can't explain it, but I am sure there is someone out there in WA that will be able to explain this to many of you. Also remember the VOR near Battleground. The system worked on Mircowave lenghts and the power could not be transmitted until the the systems were operational. This was explained to me by someone who worked with the Power Companies in WA. It is beyond me to understand what was being explained. Duane also mentioned the wave lengths use by the Dams in 1979 on the trip. I kept looking for microwave towers - but the controling of the Towers for the power was a different system than others. I suggest you guys find someone who worked with these system located at the 3 damns. A form of communication does NOT mean they were "talking" to each other. Just the signals being put out could be read and with the right kind of equipment - Cooper would have known when to jump. I tried to grasp the conversation the woman was telling me - something about magnetic signals. I conducted a elementary experiement with a gyromatic Girard Perroguax Watch. I set up 3 magnetic towers and one vor. The watch does weird things. The towers cause it to hesistate and then move and then hesitae and it does this 3 times - you are in rang. JUMP! THE FACE IS ARMS ARE LUMINOUS IN THE DARK CLOSET. The target is the tower in the middle so you know you are some where between the towers. The VORS could be set to give SINGALS - binging back. Put me in a plane with this going over the same erea and I will know it is time to get read to jump - The Vor is an important part of this. He didn't need visuals. I guess I am dreaming. Nothing to do with my imagination. I do not understand the difference between the things you are talking about....but, one thing NWA claimed belonged to them - they took. Be it transcripts or the report or disk that indicates where the plane was at all time. It is GONE. I have neither the time or the strenght to dig thru my massive files to find the notes of my conversation with Himmelsbach and later with the man at the airport...and then to where the office used to be. This 'file' for lack of a better word had been requested by NWA. LATER NWA airlines claimed it was their property and not that of the FBI or anyone else. Purportedly needed for the purpose of insurance NWA had ACQUIRED IT. What ever IT never made it back to the authorities and a copy was never made. This means it could have been the actual transcript - communication made back and forth between the ground and the crew. YOU do understand I have little knowledge of this field.....This was more than just a report - Why seeing a picture of that roll that was posted makes me feel it was a actual thing that had the information on it. it was my understanding that yrs later - when someone was cleaning OUT files - this item was destroyed with no one realizing there was NO copy and that it was a pivitol piece of evidence in a 1971 skyjacking. This loss of information happened at the NWA - office. Whatever it was - was needed for insurance purpose and either never returned or destroyed ay a clerk who did know what it was. Just told to clean out the files. For some reason I think it was a thing. Why I say it was a "thing" as the FBI allowed them to have it...for the purpose they needed it for which was insurance - it was never given back. EVIDENCE was lost in this case and you are aware of that! Don't waste you time trying to get a dumb broad to grasp it. THis is one of those SOMETHINGS no amount of description or explanation thru post will help me understand. Seriously - this is useless - as I tried before to explain what I was talking about and no one got it. The property records are not available so NO one can even verifiy he still lives there or if he is even alive. I have not been provided with the name of the woman who road horses - maybe it was Geestmans wife. I DID NOT read your book - it was too far off to concern me or anyone really serious about doing the research. THE ONLY reason anything about your story got my attention was the mention of Paradise Park and the Woman who rode Horses standing & that Geestman had move to Port Angeles. I knew about these people BEFORE I ever heard anything about your story! I dare anyone who lives in the N.W. to go find them and talk to them - put them on the phone with me and have the pictures I send you in your possession and their seeing them as we talk. What their faces (if they are NOT too far gone) and you will see the eyes of recognition within their faces. They may even have old pictures that will prove - they knew Dusty. YOU want to WAIT until they die...so NO one can ever dispute YOUR story. IT may only be that Weber knew them - and nothing more. If I knew he was still in Port Angeles and still alive - and I was physical able I would be on a plane there. I have things in Puyallup that need to be taken care of also. Strangely I did NOT know that every one Duane told me about had Puyallup connections until the last few wks. I am in distress because I cannot get on a plane & GO there and look at the county records and talk to the people I need to see FACE TO FACE before they are all dead. Puyallup was the ONE place everything I was ever told goes back to and I mean the things Duane WEBER told me on that trip....ALL of which is documented before I ever read any book other than the MOSTLY fictional book by Max Gunther...based on 6 phone calls of approximately 45 minutes each - made by a woman stoned out of her mind by alcohol and needing to tell someone about what happened. The FBI ignored Max & the letters & the story he told. HIS book was a last resort...he had taken the infomation to the FBI & felt he needed to some how tell the story this woman tried to tell him. With little to build his story on he incorporated within his book details that only Cooper would know. When CLARA was communicating with Max - she believed that Cooper had already died. "Clara" did not know Cooper was still alive until she received a phone call from him after the book was published. HOW do I know this or am I making up the most fantastic story ever told about this crime? I had questioned a phone call to CA on his shop records..... WELL, I will be leaving NO book behind me nor a movie.I leave behind me what I have written in this thread & the papers I have collected and HOPES someone someday who has the tenacity to read thru 10's of 1,000's of pages I have in my files - even I would never attempt to tackle all this CRAP, therefore I expect the truth will die with me. Clara and Cooper shared a kinky life and in one or more of those ventures Clara had met Max. EVER wonder how Clara had a private phone number for MAX? Fact or Fiction? There was a completely separate article that was in an old magazine - Weber got very angry at me throwing out. It had an article written by Max and then another article about hidden identities. I was puzzled by the age of the book in the 60's and why Duane would be so attached to such an old magazine. One of the articles was about hidden identities and how one could do this. Max thinks perhaps Max Gunther had written that article or had something to do with that magazine - it was dated in the 60's. The other magazine Duane had hidden in that old metal box was the original magazine with an article about "The Man Who Knew To Much" THis article would be repeated again in later additions of Soldier of Fortune. NO MAX had NOTHING to do with this article or that magazine. TWO unusual Magazines for a man to keep in a metal box for so many yrs. THen when he brings them into our home - I did NOT know how important they were...I read them and then threw them away. Duane was raging, but he couldn't let me know why. He then found a copy of one of the books and put it in a safe deposit box - "The Man Who Knew Too Much". was the same article that was in one of the books I threw away. Duane had told me to read the article about the man with the secret identity. It was during this period he starts to tell me things about his life - this is when I learned he had been in Jefferson and used the name John Collins. I worked many hours a wk to help keep us going - I had little time for frivilous things or reading or dwelling on his past...I was working 10 plus hours per wk...still cooked all of his meals so all he had to do was warm them up....because I would still be working at dinner time. VERY tired and I will NOT bother to go back and check my spelling or my wording because everything I am telling is the truth. Time confuses some of the dates and the facts - I am doing the best I can. Because of the constant bickering and other BS in this thread, I admit to not following as closely as I have in the past and maybe I missed the speculations regarding the "why" of the redactions. 377...what do you think is the reason? Anyone else? I find this "redaction issue" one of the more fascinating parts of the DB puzzle. So our questions to ponder: Is the redaction directly related to the flight path info (as in purposefully excluded to keep public from discerning flight path? In which case you have to say...to what purpose? Or...did those entries contain names? EDITED TO ADD: But names are included in the other documents. Or..did those entries contain some type of information that auto triggered a redaction? The people that do the redactions, in many cases, have no special knowledge of the document. They are simply people who are following a generic procedure and are taught to redact if it looks like this or like that. So has anyone been able to aquire the dictations and then we can try to fill in the words just by using the spaces they back-out. It is worth a try - if there is even a printed version available. I am goint to tell you guys something I am NOT susposed to know - I didn't realize I actually knew this until now. I started to tell it and then erased it knowing NO one would ever believe me. So instead - I will ask you guys to see if you can find the names of the guys in the Towers during the skyjacking. Something Duane told me - ONE of them was on loan from Atlanta - he went to see him before we left for CO. I assumed it had to do with insurance as the company he had worked for was able to write them coverage at a fairly decent rate. The air traffic controller premiums were out of this world and most companies would not even write them. Something about seeing that picture Blevins posted triggered the memory. I have repeatedly told you guys my memory is visual and triggered by things I see - like a road sign or a building or something else unusual. I do NOT know why this keeps bugging me. Remember I couldn't find the Ledbetter road - all it took was for me to see the area and then the sign in 2001 and bingo I was on the lake. The crew had already left - just 4 old ladies and one driver....1 is deceased so that leaves 3. Both are older than myself...NO one cares if the Cooper case is ever solved. Story told to me many yrs ago: Now I am going to talk about a man whose name I fear giving. He may be deceased by now. He was skydiving in the 60 doing covert jumps into laos. This man was QUESTIONED shortly after the skyjacking. He owned a DZ in Idaho. Claimed that Cooper and he were employed by the CIA to steal planes in Mexico and deliver them to operators in S.A. THIS correspond with a story told to me by Ed Huran the airplane mechanic Duane knew....spoke about being a airplane mechanic. Could not get verification of this and the FBI didn't give a shit. The man was still alive in 2006....that was 8 yrs ago....perhaps it is time someone tried to see if there was anything to this. Comes out of the same area as the guy who was calling me...that I call Bulljax. This story is from the eyes of a child: Bulljax is telling me about the Vern guy and uses something I mentioned - he picks up on things remote. Started to mime me on the information I fed him. Next thing I know he is claiming witnesses out of Carson, WA. A woman who was 16 /17 yrs old in 1971 and man in his 80's now. Then claims he met with them in Sioux City this last yr 2013. He tells a story about a white Cadillac picking a guy up at the convenience store in Carson on the 3rd day. The man had asked about a pay phone & he was dirty and he was on the bench behind the store drying out. Had a package wrapped in plastic. Has on a tee shirt and this other clothes are drying on the rail..... Now does this young man know how ridiculous this sound - Carson 3 days after the jump is cold. Does he even know how Cold it is in Carson 3 days after the jump and the guy is on the porch down to a Tee shirt????? DUH! Claimed the girl said he had tape on his shoes. He insisted it was true. Now the only way to get there from the jump site is Goverment Road and the old camps thru there and removeable rails - would have been a cold and rough trip in 1971 and walking considering the time of the yr and the weather. Might have been able to get a pump car and used the LOGGING rails most or part of the way. The logging industry had a few cars of their own to transport the guys to and from the sites they worked on to build assemble the temporary rails. Anyone live in WA who can elaborate on this a little.,...please do. It is the stories like this I have not cirulated, but NOW I do not give a hoot - just get them out and find out if anyone ever heard of a similar story and if there was anything to them. This person or that person will tell me a story and then tell me not to go talk about it. I am ready to start giving the names were I have names to put out. Out of courtsey for the individuals dropping these stories - I now want the feed back of the OLD TIMERS to see what they think about the possibliity....probably all bunk - but with no one worring about being prosecuted anymore, why not? Anyone else ever hear a story similar to this one. This one supposedly was told to a young man who now lives in Iowa, but was about 8 yrs old in 1971 and yet he ventured to spend a lot of money to back up his story - IF he told the truth! Want to talk about the little story Bulljax or his alternate personality sent to me. Not sure of the spelling: He met with a man by the name of Vincent Marcella in Oregon in BIGGS. Supposedly this man had gotten intouch with him thru a man out of N.Y. buy the name of Gombalie Folks I have NO idea how these names are spelled only the sound of them as he only would talk on the phone - he refused to put things in writing. Tony was supposedly a nephew of Marcella or Marsella. This man susposedly owned the storage building that was near the airport where a rental was left. The rental was a company out the S.E. Supposedly when this Vincent met with Bulljax and his multiple other names it was at a small restaurant in Biggs. The man supposedly made him empty his pockets on the table and made sure his cell was off. HE tells him a bunch of garbage and that he has to wait 2 yrs before he tell anyone. Bulljax thinks the man might be ill because of the 2 yrs proposition. Bulljax claims serveral short trips to WA and one of them was to supposedly to be taken to a place where the proof would be. His converations got real flaky & I felt none of it was true.. Then supposedly this man calls him and tells him to meet a man by the last name of Walt Collins in Alton at the Adventure Hotel to recieve the BOX. I posted a pic of the box earlier. There was something about a man connected to a Seattle New paper with a name I never got the spelling of - but sounds like Gave or Gabe. This Marcella was supposedly in the 70's connected to a detail shop in Vancouver I believe. Remember he does not email me - he talks to me on the phone...but refusing to verify anything by email. Claims he is related to Elmer Lonn of Endersol Rand. Since this was something Duane had talked about - he got my attention. Elmer was supposedly his great Uncle. Endersol made diesels. He keeps trying to get the name of man out of me with the first name of Vern - and I keep refusing to give him the last name and he gets angry. He keeps fishing for this but I never relinquished the last name. He talked about Ape Cave and a man with Boeing Models. A man who was friend of the family had brought them to Ape Cave when he was in WA with his mother as a child. This friend of the family worked or contracted with Boeing. He claimed this was in WA when he was 8 yrs old and that the man was Cooper. Explained he wore the jumpsuit (blue/grey) dickeys and he had a silver lighter.
