Not sure how much GALEN COOK knows, but I do NOT believe he knows the real truth. He has chased SO many COOPERS and "ghosts of Cooper" that little he has to say will be given a lot of attention. Gossett may indeed have had knowledge of who Cooper was & why he talked about a safe deposit box in AK and BC . If the man in the photo below made by ME (Jo Weber) in Salt Lake City was GOSSETT then you have the connection. If that photo was NOT Gossett it was a pilot who flew planes that may have at one time carried a man who later became known to be Dan Cooper. The man was a pilot and Duane did NOT want him to see him. Duane mentioned Air Alaska or something like that, The Cooper thing was NOT expected & was the repercussion from someone who didn't think they got what they deserved and/or promises not kept. Cooper did NOT expect to survive, but he did. Why do you think he did everything he could - to make it appear that he died? It was 1979 when he made the deposit of the monies in WA. The crime was 8 yrs old and he had the opportunity to do it. Those who knew him in connection to a chute only knew him by another name. One that could NOT be connected to Duane L. Weber or John Collins - perhaps only a nickname - because they were paid in CASH - 5K if they finished the mission. 5K was a lot of money in 1962 - 1965. Because of things the ex told me I have narrowed the time frame from 1962 to 1965. THREE fricking yrs one would have thought the FBI would have figured out...but they had to have ALL of the info and that damn sure was not forth coming. $5K for a few months of your life - an excon could get a pretty good start in life with $5k in 1963 and 1964. He knew eventually someone might figure out who he was & the reason Cooper could NOT ever be revealed was because of what he did know! (NOT sure they ever actually knew who Cooper was until 1990). Perhaps Weber cashed in on a little life insurance in 1990. In 1971 - the government didn't want the public to know they hired men of his kind to take on certain DIRTY jobs. "The Man Who Knew Too Much" - Maybe the title was a play on words and I do believe Duane knew more than one man who was on that assignment - I can only guess why Duane left nothing in safe deposit box other than an OLD magazine with the very article that was in the older magazine I had thrown away yrs before. When he pointed out the magazine article in the other book, he commented "I used to know a couple of those guys". Duane left behind more, but since I didn't grasp who Dan Cooper was - it just got sold with the VAN or it was something I thought was just trash. I only kept the magazine because of WHERE it was found and he had noted something about the article. If I had known who Dan Cooper was perhaps I would have been a little cautious in disposing of things after his death. I would have check the soles of those shoe and have looked for hidden things - but I just packed stuff up and took it to the Helping Hands. So much for the past - it is gone & now all I can do is let someone know the things I found, but not to be revealed in a thread so some WRITER can use it in his next up and coming book or so Galen can make it part of his book & movie. There was ONLY one Dan Cooper and I had him all along. A coward he wasn't - perhaps a good man only because being known would have meant a certain death. I think that is why when we first moved to VA - Duane would take his eyes all around the room and I wondered about that - I only notice this action to be exaggerated in Va. Beach, Va....(Duane told me about training there -but that was all he said). He knew the military facilities backwards and forwards in that area....strange for man who had never lived there or served there? NOW try to cipher thur all of that CRAP! I am not a writer, but I was married to one strange guy - who did a LOT of weird things. NO I did not make up things that Duane said or did - I tried to make sense out of them! Plus I wanted to remind those who have followed this - that Duane did KNOW his way around mililtary facilities. AS far as I have been able to find out Duane was never in VA. Bch., but how the hell did he know all of the facilities there and described what was on the base and in the area. He talked about amphib training there - I do NOT know if I spelled that right - but that was the main thing he mentioned plus the on base public facilities. Yea when he gets Mitchell's contact information - he will HOUND him to death and then make his contact information PUBLIC. The man with the Enquire Mentality in the DZ? Ask Tina WHY she basically slammed the door in Smith's face? BRUCE only prints what BENEFITS him! I have informed all to be sure if they allow an interview that they have their own recording of the interview - not to depend on the interviewer to self disciplin his venture. Also to request and make mandatory a proof anything he intends to publish regarding the time you give him...and that you have to sign off on it. Also informing them of how you hounded the media when Cossey died and to read the articles on Cossey and Tina before considering granting an interview. Contact Tina and others as to his accuracy in reporting. If they do NOT approve of what they READ then say NO and walk...or deny permission for the interview. Got news for you Brucie - the word was already out - by way of Mr. H. and others you interviewed, contradicted and compromised. The meaning of the word Confidential Bruce does not grasp and will be using the information for a publication for profit....and by the time it is published will not look or sound anything like the conversation you had with him. As with Tina he divuged publically her confidential information...with pictures he took spying on her. Ask if he will divulge your location and private information. Expect him to have all of the proper privacy agreements and that they be signed and witnessed. If you disagree with him he will rage and do and say whatever he wants. I worked in the dining room serving the RICH kids and often had to go to class due to time in my uniform which was on the other side of town. Well - 1st have U ever met him? Have U been interviewed by him? Have U read things he CLAIMS? Did U read his approached of Tina? Do U read his evaluations of her mental status? Did U read how he lusts after her? That is all I need to say! U believe then let U live with it when harm comes to others...evidently you condon his actions with people he interviews! NONE of U will care until U become his victim or know others he victimizes. He is polite in person, but READ his accounting of the interviews. He gets NASTY with his attitude & pushy, then makes it appear the other individual was the one who was pushy or irrational & ALWAYS claims the other person has a mental problem. HE needs to LOOK in the mirror. He is polite & he is a good writer - but IT IS HIS UGLY TWISTS HE WRITES ABOUT THE INTERVIEW & HIS TWISTED OPINION OF THE OTHER PERSON'S REACTIONS. I TREAT him the way HE treats others who he has interviewed....it is the only way to get thru to someone like that. They will NOT recognize the pain inflicted upon their victim, UNTIL it comes right back at them.....some never grow-up or get the message. What he does is either a learned process thru association (for instance perhaps how his mother or father treated him) and the other option is he really is deep down that rude demeaning opinionated person his writing indicated. I found it interesting that Cook Supposedly according to Bruce made a statement about not sharing evidence to protect his investment. I have 18 yrs invested in this - but, what Cook supposedly said made me feel ANGER. ALL he has he got from me - I found things HE could NOT find. I corrected him when he was going the WRONG way and I have 100's of emaisl to prove this - should he use anything I provided to him to advance another subject - He will pay the keeper. I am NOT sure I believe everything that Bruce claims Cook said. I do NOT believe Bruce has the tight connection to Cook that Bruce claims. Cook is a sneaky snake and I do NOT trust him. I do expect he is working on his project (book & movie), but has to get ME out of the way. He may also be protecting Union rights - which in the day involved underground crime. The only negative posts you are seeing from me relate to the BULLY and when he attacks the witnesses - I just loose it. I have been intouch with most of them over the yrs other than Shaffner and have the contact info for them - but, I do not post or harass or call them. I made an exception for VICKIE because her story touched me and I made the information available to Mitchell and left ALL of the REST to him and to VICKIE. We are closed off now. The Bay Bridge is close, Three Mile Bridge is closed - most of the Channel 3 crew live in Gulf Breeze - they may not get home tonight. The back road to I 10 is close - it is a narrow road and with a long bridge that goes over part of the Bayou. I-10 is closed. Only hospital is Gulf Breeze - if you dare attempt it. Road is open to Ft. Walton. The worse is yet to come tomorrow. I have lost power briefly 3 times tonight. Those guys are on top of it. My subdivision has underground electric so that is good...the switching station is just down the road. Getting ready to go to bed to conserve the heat - I have NO gas tank for my fire place - if I loose power I am without heat. We are hoping the temps go just above freezing tomorrow long enough to save some trees and plants. Do NOT believe my Sandy Pines will make it - they are loaded & hanging low with a lots of ice. It is still raining and it makes ice as soon as it hits the ground. I walked outside onto the grass - drive way covered in ice and the grass was crunchy and when I reached down it was 2 inches thick with ice. The centipede lawns like mine may suffer a lot of damage and the sod people will make a lot of money this spring and summer. I have a pump for my lawn and I covered it, but didn't have the strength to drain the pipe - if that is damaged - that will be a big expense. I know there will be sprinklers to be replaced, but that is a never ending cycle - they don't make the new one like MY old sprinklers that survive yr after yr. Main concern is a water spigot we had to pull underground and bring up in the back (city water). I covered it well, but it had a break shortly after it was put due to some cold weather. My husband did something to insulate it - not sure what he did as it was done before we got married. At the cut off - that pipe is underground and goes to the very back of the house before it surfaces (the builder forgot to put a spigot in the back). I covered the pipe coming up out of the ground with insulation and put plastic bags all around it and then taped a bigger bag on top. Today I added two old towels and another plastic bag. If that breaks I loose water to the house and would have to cut it off at the meter...NOT sure I know HOW to do that...or if I have the strength to do it. REMEMBER this: I put a lot of money and time into a package I sent to Florence YRS ago. I sent it with the return postage already on the special return envelope. A letter was on the front of the book explaining if she did NOT want to open it I understood & that was okay but, to put it in the other envelope and drop it at any post office. I never got it back. I did get a contact from an unknow source telling me they had my Cooper package in Ohio or Missouri. I did NOT understand that. There was NO offer to return it to me. I had over $30 tied up in postage and over $35 in the photos....not to mention all of the hours I spent putting it together. I knew the address for Florence was correct - so you figure it out! Oh, I found it. There IS a Roswell in Georgia. Here's the Google Map link. Good news. It isn't a wilderness area. Zooming in the map I see shopping centers, neighborhoods galore. Hopefully she is okay. Her problem is staying out the way of sliding cars and she is NO where near an exit. She lived in Canton. She was trying to get to 75 and they shut 75 down so she is in traffic that is bearly moving with no exit near her and out of gas. If she gets out of the car that is very very dangerous. My daughter sent home at 1:30 PM near Roswell due to the weather. I-75 is SHUT DOWN - she is out of GAS and stranded someplace between Roswell and I-75. SHE is driving a green sab. ANYONE - please relay to others stranded - STOP and get her to safety....It is now 9:22 PM in Atlanta. Last contact couldn't make it to a GAS STATION - traffic NOT moving...not enough GAS to make it moving at 1 mile per hour. Last contact about 1 hour ago. Atlanta usually gets a little snow. Ga. had a BIG snow in the early 70's - I was living in a small town in GA about 40 miles East of Macon.... My children were delighted and built their first Snowman - the snow was several inches that yr - and I took lots of pictures so my girls could remember that snow. I taped plastic bags over their shoes to the ankles. They actually got to walk to the convenience store in the snow. It was magic to this then 9 yr & 10 yr old. Snow Angels, Snowmen and Snowballs. They got to experience the things I grew-up with. Florida - Today on the GULF Jan 2013. Brrrr it is cold. Today at 2 pm I went to the mail box - it had icicles hanging on it but the temp was 40% - but the wind was very cold. The schools are close today and tomorrow...these idiots do NOT know how to drive on ICE. On the TV they were showing one accident after another taken from a Camcorder on a highway and on major streets in Pensacola. They think the road is just wet and it is a thin layer of ice created by the moisture in the air and the freezing wind......I wonder what the 10pm news will show? I haven' seen snow here yet - I am less than 3 miles from the gulf and 2 miles from one bay and 1 mile from the other bay. In other words I am surrounded by water on all sides. What you do Bruce Smith is called exploitation based on your own warped sense of right and wrong. YOUR opinions and behavior are warped and NOT part of the Cooper Story at all. YOUR opinions because of this self centering sydrome and behavior are NOT intergral to the story. You have done many articles that represent this self centering syndrome and all one has to do is read your online "news site" and the examples of this are all over the place. YOU thrive on putting yourself into the stories of others and/or by controlling. They seldom can work in an enviroment that requires they interact with others on a daily basis and take instruction. The syndrome often becomes exaggerate when the individual is facing a crisis such as the health of an elderly parent or their own illness. It is very subjective to certain medications - such as anti-depressants. Spoiled children and last born often have this self-centered syndrome which has been unknowingly fostered by the families. Eventually the familes even tire of the individual leaving him or her to fiend for themselves. They are rarely self-supporting depending on the charity of family and others and often end up suicidal and/or institutionalized. Religion is usually their first line of defense and when that fails they become agressive and absorbed in the something else or someone else. With you it is writing and then Cooper. To survive they find it necesary to become part of the story and have to maintain control - it defines them...makes their life have substance and they have to be in control. When they are no longer able to control their subject or median they have chosen and do not obtain professional help they usually bottom out with alchohol and/or drugs. YOUR statement below is an example of this: Interjecting yourself into the story is definitely not ethical or professional...and your motives and goal is only to control the subject. YOUR only motivation should be to tell the story - NOT make yourself part of it. This typical of the sydrome often called LAST Born or Self-centered syndrome. A seasoned professional you are NOT. When YOU cannot successfully interview one individual whose life was altered - you have failed. You are STONEWALLED by your own undoing and creating an auora of disgust and rejection around yourself. It should be a CLUE you did something wrong - but the Syndrome causes you to blame the other party rather than see yourself for what you have and/or are becoming. A person NO one cares to be around. THE only message Tina was giving you was "GO AWAY". You did NOT get a story - YOU created a STORY to avoid facing YOUR own faults. You are an OBTUSE person and that can be seen in your BODY LANGUAGE - you don't have to say ONE word. TINA owes you nor anyone anything. I was strong - and I put my hand out Palm FACING you & fingers spread - and that is what she should have done. Remember the action I made with my hand - and said. "We agreed NOT to go there - otherwise this interview is OVER with NOW!" YOU nor I have any right to question a principal in a crime unless they have agreed to do so. WHY do U think I wrote a letter to TINA and I got a phone call? Because I did it the WAY it should be done! It was a short conversation, but never the less it was HER CALL! After 42 yrs there is NO COVER-UP regarding the witnesses - they just do NOT remember anymore. I don't expect others to remember things the way I do... YOUR experience as a reporter is ENQUIRER mode and you are easy to see thru. All they have to do is speak to one person you have interviewed and then have read the article. 1 and 1 doesn't equal 2 in your game play. 1 and 1 might equal 10 off handed Opinioned comments that were never asked nor answered. YOU acted like TINA owed you an interview - she owed you nothing! YOU were entirely out of line. YOU just knocked on her door - how obtuse can you be. As for Lee Dormuth - it was the same senarior. They are entitled to their privacy and to POP in and knock on their door unanounced is about the RUDEST thing any reporter can do. When it come to NEWS reporters and TV reports - doing so is NOT unusual but the crime you were contacting Tina about was NOT NEWS. IT was PERSONAL and it was 42 yrs ago. YOU were entirely OUT of line from GET GO. YOUR attitude is the very sydrome I described above - and if it is NOT curbed or treated - you will self destruct. ONE does NOT get to do it THEIR way just BECAUSE they say SO! You aren't interview them - you are interogating them! Otherwise U would have made an appointment in both instances. U R a BULL in a CHINA Closet! THAT is the last child syndrome or Spoiled Child syndrome. Little skirmishes ! NOT hardly YOU are setting YOURSELF up to FAIL and this time there won't be anyone to catch you - probably not even your family. Ethics - YOU have NONE! Your OBTUSE remarks about responsibility to Appolgize to the victims. That is a personal thing - the most important thing is for you to APOLOGIZE for having to speak with them or make an intrusion into their lives in the first place. I was not responsible for What Duane did or may have done to anyone, but I can say I am sorry to intrude upon you and I know you are weary of individuals like me approaching you... Certainly she experienced some trauma in 1971 and thereafter- BUT it is NOT up to you to show up on her door unannouced to put her thru more trauma - HOW RUDE! Bruce STATED: THat is YOUR own STATEMENT - and you need to think REAL hard and REAL long before you make that statement again. THERE is NO fame and glory being related to Cooper - IT is just the relief of knowing the victims will NOT be victimized by him again - that they never have to worry that they might one day meet him on the street. YOUR misplaced thoughts are deplorable! YOU only want to write a book - you do NOT care about the victims! YOU do NOT CARE who U hurt to OBTAIN your goal! Well, if I have anything to do with it - YOU will have NO part in this .....Oh, how do you know all of this has NOT already be taken care of. Perhaps it is time to end this thread. The bashing is just over the top! Nonsensical postings, promotional postings and rants of other throwing trash on those who worked hard to make this an informative thread. One is deliberately stoking a fire....per instructions from a 3rd party. I put my heart & my soul into the hands of the FBI & the media trying to find answers to the mystery Weber left me with. My story is genuine & very REAL. I told what I knew & what Duane told me & what I have found. The nonsensiless postings & promotions & those slinging garbage - sounds like a bar full of drunks - THIS conduct is unacceptable for HISTORY & TRIVIA. The very basics of what was known about Weber came from actual files - files the FBI could NOT access. Files a REAL journalist was able to extract - files & interviews that put the FBI to shame...such as the one with the composite artist & the finding of the Army record. A journalist whose hair was standing on end after listening to a recording. Things NO one wants to believe or acknowledge and the files the FBI refused to access or make public. Ask yourselves WHY it took 16 yrs & an interested poster on this thread to produce the Jefferson pics & files. Something the FBI could or would not make available - & after almost 50 yrs - who would remember that guy from 1966. Those files were NOT made available to the "witnesses" & after 42 yr any picture of any suspect is just that "a picture". The instigation of the twisting of known facts & attacks by certain posters is unacceptable for an informative HISTORY & TRIVIA thread. EGO trips & posting for no purpose than to incite posters & seekers of sensationalism & untruths is not acceptable for History & Trivia. The bar room bashing & the behavior currently being displayed in this thread is unacceptable. The thread has become a hopelessly series of bar room rants and not a place to find knowledge and discover subjects related to the Skyjacking of 1971. Unacceptable behavior for a Thread in History and Trivia. A new thread in one of the other more appropriate genre's where accountabililty is not required might be warranted (but a lot of you will not be happy in that atmosphere). The thread has lost it investigative capabilities & is NO longer a place to discuss D.B.Cooper in a intelligent manner. The historical value has been lost to serious researchers & visitors & all about personalities & who is going to sell the most books or who gets the next book & who can out bash another poster to win brownie points or who makes the most nonsensical postings in one night. Have to tell you -- as someone who was only able to visit your exhibit on-line, it added to my store of Cooper knowledge and I enjoyed it. I have profound sympathy for the woman. I believe she is the victim of multiple crimes, and I salute her stellar work aboard 305.
