Snowman: I cannot find this Sheehan mentioned in the article except in the introduction. It is written in first person by Byron H. Brown. The introduction only is by. JES. The story begins with the report, the crime and the revelation. In the November issue it say "I went" - "I discovered" - "I noticed" - "In 1974 as my father and I" - "I travelled"," and finally "When I finally found her in July of 1977, the pretty, half Filipino stewardess, who was then working for Frontier Airlines in Denver took one look at my photographs of Jack coffelt, her mouth dropped open, and she gasped, "Oh my god! Where did you get those? I never thought I would see that face again! It's him!"" All of this except the introduction with a copyright by Byron H. Brown. Note Florence identified Christiansen also - I don't believe if multiple pictures (never used before) of all the suspects where put in front of her that she could ID Cooper. I will remind Sluggo that whatever I shared with him he is private and will remain private. I thought he was being my friend. I did very much appreciate all of the maps he went to so much trouble to acquire for me. I will set some records straight. Duane use various alias: the the arrest below are under Duane L. Weber. In 1975 or there about when Duane was MARRIED to someone else - he was stopped in Jacksonville, Florida (I think Carr posted the charges on the forum). I believe it was a DUI and he had a gun in his possession. I questioned the FBI - how a convicted Felon could have possession of a gun and have not gone to jail. The only incident I had knowledge of that involved a gun was in 1990 when he was attempting to obtain the John C. Collins drivers license and was followed by the Highway Patrol to the next county. He did somehow manage to obtain that drivers license in the next county. Since he was using false Identification in an attempt to obtain a drivers license in the name of John Collins - that is a felony in the State of Florida. He was arrested - and at that time he had a brand new 38 with split bullets in it...he intended to go after someone for some reason. He had just gone on diaylsis and I contacted the Dr. who was counseling him regarding the diaylsis and he intervened - making sure that Duane WAS not arrested, but was put under observation for 72 hour in a local facility - I did not not like the facility they where taking him to and managed with the Dr.s help to have him transferred to the best facility in the area with the same hospital who was doing the dialysis. Duane L. Weber had a record that included serveral prisons and county jails - the Jefferson Mo prison was under John Collins. As all of you can see so much of what I have told and said gets turned and misinterperted by those to whom I am telling the story or who are viewing my research and documents. Other individuals (there have been many) use the information I have provided to fit their own use or purpose. Attention Sluggo: Use some logic here - if Duane was involved in a "search" for Cooper - why didn't he just tell me and his friend that over the yrs. Have you interviewed his employers and friends and asked them? Of course not.

That is exactly what they are "guesses" because I have zero knowledge of this kind of thing. The sister he kept intouch with - usually once a yr. not telling her where he was and she was the very one who told me to leave the past in the past. The sister had one living son who was also NOT involved in Duane's life. The family had disowned him 37 yrs prior to his death He had NO OTHER relatives. In 1971 what technology was available to detect that radio signal? In 1971 there were not the massive number of frequencies there are now.

Some where along the line - I got the impression one could rig up a wire that would vibrate when passing near that VOR. Maybe Cooper didn't know or care where that VOR was, but Duane knew where it was and pointed it out after we passed it so I never saw it - just what he said, but I didn't understand what he was talking about - so I just let it go. The only thing I understood at that time was that is was some type of radar detection for airplanes.

Snowmman: Are you talking about that VOR - I guess that is the ID (not going back to find it)? The radar contraption around Orchards and below Battleground? 377: Could someone rig a contraption using a back brace with metal staves and the battery in the "bomb" to give signals to the wearer of the brace he was near the VOR? Forgive me for not remembering the technical terms - short term memory loss! Duane had this back brace he would not let me throw away - yet, there was NO way it would have fit him during our marriage. I finally threw it away after he died. This brace had lace-up cords to tighten it - like a corset, NOTE: Duane NEVER complained about his back during our marriage. In fact he NEVER ccmplained about pain of any kind. The notes on pain made me remember something else about Duane - he NEVER complained about pain. He was given pain medication when he broke bones, but used little of it. He never complained about much of anything - it was as if he was so grateful for what he had - that there was NOTHING to complain about. If he was angry - he was known to SULK, but NOT complain. I suppose that is something he learned from spending so much time in prison - not to complain. My personal opinion is that complaining would only subject the individual to retailiation by other prisoners and personnel. AND so do I, but I was tooting this yrs ago - 1997 and the FBI turned a deaf ear. I proved Duane worked for a company with JMWave connections and that JMWave bought 727's. Duane's taxes showed 2 yrs of involvement with one company - (out of 9 agents - 4 or 5 had criminal background and they sold GOVERNMENT employees Insurance supplements. Wonder who provided the leads they worked? My agenda is very different from yours, but found some of your information "fuzzy", regarding the subjects of other writers such as Christiansen. DO you KNOW HOW many SUSPECTS - Florence has "positively" ID'd as Cooper? She was on record as saying Coffelt was Cooper (perhaps you need to read the very rare and basically buried Vegan articles by Byron Brown the son James Brown)and now she Id's Christiansen by simply fingering the photo and saying - "I thing you are on to something". Of course the forum and others will tell you I interpert everything my way and I DO have a one tract mind. I do NOT link Duane in anyway to your theory of subject idea - There is only one suspect Duane may have had knowledge of or contact with and that is Coffelt because of the Lawrence, Ks connection and Coffelt's aka - of ROSS. The FBI has been so secretive about Duane's criminal record - it was promised to me and never delivered (I made several requests). The FBI agent made part of it public on this forum, but NEVER sent the details to me. I will explain that I very upset with the standards of the FBI - especially since some of the individuals who went to WA had privey to the records of Duane L. Weber and his wife can't have them..... Does it take a trip to the FBI office in Seattle for the wife to recieve the records - in detail and complete? The FBI has never done the SIMPLE SS checks I asked them to do - for dual income under his AKA and dual income under another name he used. AGENT CARR knows what that name is and it is not John Collins. I do not have the files for Jefferson and Columbia, but I had the others before the FBI had them. I did my own search and contacted living relatives of the other suspected AKA and was told that their uncle never worked in the specific area I asked them about. This "man" worked in OR. Got a pill in me so I hope I make sense - Llloyd Johnson , Larel 'Sargent, Carl Rosseli Hal Harden, These name mean something to me - probably I jusr read about them before.] There was a group that went to MT Hood from CA. Where are they. Leo Harder and cowboy (don't remember his name). What happened to Larel Sargent...that name I heard in the Columbus and Alabama area in the late 70's - had an old town full of antiques. Simply called him Sarg. Keep digging for the Mt. Hood group...remember we aren't looking for jumpers - they had their crew pilot and load master and other workers - some just packed the equipment. Pill is messing me up ---going to bed. BAD day - sure could have use a man around today and for the next wk. Got to get rid of all this stuff - tools, etc nothing I need. So much stuff I don't know where to start. or what to ask for it., but I have to get the garage where I can find the car. I think knapsack needs to be researched - my understanding is that knapsack was a COMMON expression for smokejumpers and forestry rangers. I have held on to that for a long time --- I sent emails yrs ago to different foresty and smokejumper groups - and knapsack was a common term for them, but I couldn't get any specifics. I sent so many emails and enquires and I made copies of them all - in the 1,000's of pages I have. Knapsack was also a Scouting term. If he was aware of it he sure didn't admit it early on nor did the prior agents. For yrs I told the FBI that Cooper was a firejumper or the one on the plane who communicated with the ground and the search planes in order to drop the load (ground fighters) in the right location. Until this forum I didn't know the name of that position. Duane's extreme knowledge of CB's and communications - along with the title he used indicates he was what you guys call a Load Master. I would bet that he used that communications title from 1945 - to 1949 out of the Mt. Hood area. I would put a bet on Ed Horan being a mechanic or pilot out of that area in those same yrs. I have explained this to the FBI until I am blue in the face - it was this forum that helped me put things together about that period of time. His experience from that time period was utilized again in the mid to late 60's....a group not so upfront as the firejumpers. The Worlds Greatest Jock Ball Carrier - was not meant to be a dirty joke. In the 40's his cargo was some of the greatest Jocks around and it was his job to make sure they got where they were supposed to be and not in the middle of the fire. Truth, Fiction, Lie or just a "bad" story by a desparate woman. Bet the FBI doesn't want to make bets at this time. Right MAXs? That's right you read it right - I said Max. I saw that photo also and thought it quiet out of context with the Cooper investigation - wondered why IT would be in Cooper files. Probably just a joke - seems like Carr likes jokes. I do not know why Carr would use the most fanciful idea that was presented on this forum as a profile on Cooper. He projected a profile base on the Comic book? This might add humor and imagination, but no more connected to the Real Cooper than other ideas presented. I am sorry I don't know if I should cry or laugh. Funny, Carr did NOT touch other profiles in this forum - such as the information Orange provided - which makes for another very good profile. You know, I was thinking tonight there should be another HA HA HA by D.B.Cooper book. Shawn was not the only person who contacted me - there were countless others. There was a girl who contacted me saying her mother told her that her father was Cooper. She sent me a picture and it was really nice as the girl was fresh and country - someone I would like to know. The information she sent was as it was on the other person - no correlating information with what we know about Cooper or Weber. Wonder how many men did one night stands claiming they were Cooper and how many women out there think they gave birth to Cooper's child? I have had 4 such contact in the last few yrs - All of these contact and yet I didn't find Edna, a former wife (or common-law) and her daughter Zona. Each time I had a contact I tried to make the dates work - but they were just too far off. There are lots of HA HA HA's that I did not find necessary to mention in the forum. These are definitely not Ha Ha Ha's to these individuals looking for their father. My heart went out to each of them, but I couldn't help them. One even sent a birth certificate and I verified that it was legitimate. Cooper or Cooper wannabe's and impersonators sure kept busy thru the yrs.

I did talk to Shawn on 2 occassions and he was trying to find his FATHER who his mother thought was Cooper (If I remember rightly the man told the mother his name was Cooper) and also his father. I don't remember the specifics but Shawn was too young to have been Duane's son. His mother never talked to me, but supposedly relayed information thru Shawn. We found NO correlation between the man she was with and Duane Weber or Cooper. None of the information matched enough with what was known about Cooper or Duane to proceed any further. I did inform the FBI of this encounter although brief on my part. I saw no reason to go any further with the information I was provided. . I change my story - i don't think so. I wrote this 8 yrs ago. ====================== The Washington/Oregon Trip We were living in Colorado in 1978-1980. He worked for a company with a home office in Seattle. We were going out there on business and he said he wanted to go a day or so early because he wanted to take a side trip. I did ask how he knew the area so well --- but I do not remember the answer. He mentioned a scout camp, a prison, a story about prisoners escaping, named several of the more remote places by name -- not common and mentioned the many Indian names of areas and how remote some of the area was. He told me at a certain point that there was a tower over to our left and a cabin directly in front of us across the water and to our right would have been an old mill or mill encampment. All of this was across the water and later when we left the area he turned me around and as we crossed a small stream said that was were Cooper walked out of the woods. I asked how he could know that and he replied that maybe he was the one on the ground. I took it as kidding and knowing little about Cooper or the story did not regard it as anymore than kidding. On our return trip home he said he had one more stop to make. This was in Vancouver --- this is were he told me to stay in the car and he walked down to the river --- the path he took he quickly descended out of sight. It was early morning and we had partied the night before so I fell asleep and do not know how much time really went by. He did open the trunk before he left. I did get restless and just as he came back up the path I asked if I could get out. He said sure as he opened the trunk again --- I did not see nor ask what he was doing. When we stood on the bank high above the river he pointed to an area and told me that he used to know a man who lived there and then the point to another area and told me that was the airport --- I did not know it was the airport that Cooper departed from. He said something else about the river west of us but I do not remember what he said. After 23yrs and the help from a local resident, I found this area on the Columbia. The area was East of where the money was found. Thus if he did indeed dig it up or attempt to dig it up and found it useless it would have drifted to the point that the $5800 was found several months later. Later when the money was found and it was in the paper - he said "I know-it was useless" I asked him how he knew that because he had not yet seen the paper. He never answered. I learned early on never to ask to many questions and he had a way of just changing the subject. Also as my daughter put it. "Mother, you were clueless" Note that I was also voted "Most likely to get Lost in a Crowd" my senior year in school. I was the PERFECT wife for a good con man who led a double life and with a past he needed to keep secret. I also asked little about his past because we had a relative good life. ====================== I believe I wrote this in 2001 after my trip to WA. I was not specific on the places because I didn't have the maps then. I just told the driver what the Angel Udell had told me - the woman truck driver who befriended me in Portland the morning of my trip out with the 3 ladies and a family member who worked in law enforcement. He was our driver and guide and the ladies were related to him. I still do not know who sent me those black and white copied maps - I thought it was W.Walker (sluggo) but he said he didn't send them. Somewhere in my files I have the envelope they came in - and one day I wlll get to thank that person. AND so you see my story has not changed - I have only added the places and specifics. I did make a minor correction in this I had said West when I meant East referencing where the money was found. This was one of my first accountings of the trip - and I was not as in detailed as I am today - because I only had my memory of the places. Also the computer was a very NEW thing to me. I hope this explains that MY story has NOT changed...just more details and more facts over all of these yrs. How do I produce evidence if NO one looks at What I have already have. The FBI never provided me with Duane's records, but have talked about him in public and with others confidentially - Why has the FBI not provided me with these records and what they may know about Duane's past - especially the yrs 1944 - 1949...and the yrs. between 1962 and 1968. If he is innocent WHAT is the BIG secret. I have asked for these records over and over and over. Attention Orange; I would appreciate it IF you would just one time put yourself in my shoes and have seen what I saw and heard what I heard - YOU would not be able to put it down. YOU would want the FBI to tell you things - especially when you had already caught them in lies YOU would want someone to prove to you that they had REALLY investigated your father or whoever . That is what I want - proof they did investigate Duane's past. To see the interviews they have of the people who knew him as John Collins...DID they even try to contact them? T.G. and T.W. were still alive at that time. DID they actually contact them or make any attempt to do so? I told them the last known area for both. DID they actually interview several employers - especially the one who went back to Chicago? ALL the FBI ever did was a cursory background check and contacted the ex-wife -. She told me things and the daughter told me things - was this family just playing a big JOKE on me? NOT one time has the FBI given me anything that would explain DUANE's knowing WA the way he knew it - they even denied until 2000 that he was in McNeil. Then Duane seemed to get lost until 1949? Duane Weber ceased existing until 1949 - that is a 4 yrs period of time - did he go into the service under another man's ID or where was he working - the SS records should show that - but the FBI told me NOTHING and I have asked. How do I find Tina and talk to her before she too is gone - is her memory still intact? Does she remember missing something and just thinking the FBI took it for evidence? I desperately need to talk to her in person - and face to face. That one thing could help me to put this down - and until I see here face to face - I cannot let go of this. I cannot let go until the FBI provides me with Data on the missing yrs and his SS records for John Collins and Duane Weber. Also to find out if the SS records of a certain individual show dual incomes at the same time separated by several states.
