July 2, 1969 Where was Mr. Cooper (Jamie's father) - and why was he arrested or questioned about the case? What do the county documents state? Did Mr. Cooper leave the area for a while due to the embarrassment of his being questioned in the case....? Perhaps one of you super sleuths would like to DIG up the files - Who was questioned in regards to Willie's death and what the Bradford Township actually believed happened. Since Jamie thinks his father was Dan Cooper - this might be a worth while effort on someones behalf. This is how mucked up the media gets - one journalist quoted me as say Duane threw the money in the river in a SOCK. Yes, you read that correctly - A SOCK! There was no Sock or sack thrown from a bridge! I really thought you would rise above something like that with the History Channel special coming up. NOW, if something like that regarding Duane is presented in this special on History Channel - I will not only ask, but DEMAND equal time to defend the truth. In fact I would take them to TASK in court on that one. When I posted the above I read the following apology you made and got a real chuckle out of it. If you had lived in Vancouver in 1979 and had read my story about the money in the bag you would know this. That hotel sat on the water in Vancouver - there were some pilings and this is where he put the money in the water. He DID NOT throw the bag from the bridge...so NO great height was involved and also note the bag I mentioned was far more sturdy than the paper bags of today. Note. that when they built the new Hotel - the pilings where change and raised - one used to be able to walk out to the end of the pilings and they were not very high. ----------------------------- The bag was already floating out of site when I got out there - I was just barely able to see it, but he could still see it. ------------------------------ Did you do a test? Note that Tena's bar is NOT very far in that river...someone at one time gave me the distance by water. ------------------------ I WILL REPEAT ONE MORE TIME - HE DID NOT THROW IT OFF A BRIDGE! [reply Duane floated some trash down the river to see where the money floated off to...simple. That won't work today. What the kid found is indicative of where the other $160K is, or floated past... The human intervention was the flooding. Nobody messed with the money. Mother Nature got it. Duane Weber did NO float test. When we left the area he threw the bag into the Columbia in Vancouver we crossed the river and took a ride along the South side of the Columbia in Oregon. This drive along the Oregon side of the river ended when we turned around East of a point we could see Wahougal and the tressle on the opposite shore line. I do not remember how far we went beyond this point other than his mentioning a road that went to Mt.Hood. My impression between the trip in 1979 and my recent trip in 2010 is that the Highway as it is today had not been completed at these points in 1979. If this Constituted a "test" - what would have been the purpose of this if we were on our way to Tahoe? Please don't bother to answer, because the answer is "It didn't Happen". I try to ignore your post but a direct attack - NO WAY. I have explained many times (if you would be so kind as to READ the thread) about the paper bag...I am the first and only person to put anything in that river and I didn't even know diddle squat about the crime. All I did was tell the FBI and Himmelsbach what I remembered. I didn't know if any of it had any significance. I did NOT know were Tena's bar was in relation to the place Duane put the bag in the water...all I had was a FICTIONAL book called D.B. Cooper What Really Happened...and had only read a small part of it before I was on the phone to the FBI. I told that story that night in May of 1996 - one yr and 2 months after Duane died. Hell - I DIDN"T KNOW D.B. Cooper had called himself Dan until that night. I don't go around claiming memories of when I was 1 yr old. Remember that Duane had been dead 1 yr and 2 months before I even knew who DAN Cooper was! Being REPETIOUS - I had been reading a book about widow hood - the book gave useful hints when one starts to date. If you date someone you would like to keep as a friend, but are not romantically interested in - you talk about you deceased. I told this guy the things Duane said while he was in the hospital. Had it not been for him - I would NEVER have know who DAN Cooper WAS - and I did not read the book until about 3 wks later. It was the only book available on the subject in our area. Did you see him put money into the bag? If not, how do you know it was money and not leftovers from a visit to McDonald's? Seems like a reasonable question. BECAUSE as I have explained before THE BAG was not there when he left me in the car when he went DOWN to the shoreline. Straight down as his body just disapppeared with the head being the last thing I saw. He opened the trunk before he went down and after he returned. We made another stop at a big green tank along the river...when we got back into the car is when noticed the paper sack in the floor board...he had placed it there after going down to the river. This man and I worked together and we traveled together. I mentioned that I had NOT see the sack before and he made a comment it was just some trash he was going to throw away. I always cleaned out the front seat and back seat...I am a NEAT FREAK. I like everything in its place - our cars where always clean as a whistle. A sack in our car was NOT the norm...and very much out of place. He made a point to direct me to the facilities and to the snack machines and told me he would be in the back. When I got out there - he was standing on the sea-wall and I asked what he was doing. He said "Watching that bag floating down the river". I got MAD - because I never allowed my children to litter and he didn't. I even checked the trash barrels which had already been emptied by the clean up crews...because I just could NOT believe he would do that. visual and chemical tests would make this an easy identification. plus, there are some advantages to dealing with a ground up mixture of a thing; makes assays easier (in bulk). Harold and Pat Ingram described 'decayed material' being in the vicinity of the found money. So obviously they probed and inspected the area where the bundles were pulled from and very likely they were observing decayed money or perhaps a combination of decayed cotton fibres and some biological material. The group Brian pulled out was wet. Georger, You know if that was the actually what happened there it would have been in the reports from way back when...1980. IF ARE you are stating that is in the ACTUALLY FBI reports in 1980 that is a different thing. If you are basing this on what a kid of 8 or 10 is now claiming after all of these yrs, that is a mute point. Present evidence of this claim and how you acquired this evidence report, claiming rotten fibers. The shore lines always have rotten biological debris - to a certain extent depending on the weather and the pollution present....if what you claim actually existed. Where are the reports? Did you read what Georger wrote about the total mass? He said that by all accounts it was at least twice that, but the $5800 was the amount that was what could be pieced together into recognizable bills. In any case, the reason i posted that bit was to show there is a way the money could get there without human intervention. Jo had claimed it was impossible. That's clearly wrong. I don't believe it was impossible for the money to get on Tena's bar in other ways - I just know he watched that bag float down the river from the I-5 bridge (the old one) and what size it was and it could well have held more than 3 stacks of money. It was the size of what we now consider a large lunch bag and NOT the little one. I don't even know how thick the money stacks were as I have not asked, but I am now. Then and only then would I be able to estimate how many bundles could have fit in that bag...and I know the top was folded over about 3 times. I believe if Cooper was hanging in a tree as you suggested the money would have been scattered from yay to yonder. The people searching were constantly looking up and Cooper searchers for yrs looked up thinking the very same thing you proposed. I really believe if Cooper snagged in a tree - other parts of the chute and other debris would have been found over the past 39 yrs. There are only a few people that know exactly what that report says. I just remembered there were dredged spoils in the soil layer, but NOT in the layer the money was found in. Seems like it was in layers below the find. I can understand if there had been dredging below the money find - and a layer was deposited along the shore and then several weeks later sediment and other things the dredging stirred up may have washed ashore... Something as simple as that could put the money there....but it was the consensus of Palmer and others that the MONEY was NOT in the WATER for 8 yrs...that it had to have been protected and NOT in the river. Unless that money was in a sealed container - it woud have been unidentifiable 9 yrs later due to the mud and river sedimentation. Put a bill in MUD and water and it will absorb the sedimentation...those bills were ratty, but not discolored in the manner 8 yrs would have created. Anyone claiming that money was in the water for 8 yrs prior to washing ashore - has to know there had to be human intervention. The money would have to have been stored in a container other than what Cooper had available on the plane. Come on Jo. Don't get too moralistic here. Duane was two of the three above. You didn't hate him. Watergate? Do you realize you've already linked Duane to RFK, JFK, MLK and the Bay of Pigs? What's next? The idea that Norjack was a CIA job is completely illogical. I don't buy it. Govt conspiracies are usually just convenient excuses for those who can't solve civilian crimes. When I found out Duane had done REAL time - I was 12 yrs into the marriage and he was on dialysis. What kind of person would I have been if I had walked away at that time? I don't know if he was CIA or not - but, what I do know - is the track record and the people he knew and the places he was in and the things he told me (things I did NOT know involved CIA knowledge or that were secret at that time). I actually met someone involved in Watergate thru Duane. I met other parties involved in Covert action during the same period of time. I had no idea who these individuals where - I did NOT keep up with things like that. I DO NOT believe the Skyjack was a CIA job. THAT is Caretaker or what-ever name you wish to call him or he calls himself. I do KNOW Duane's involvement in some shady things during the yrs - 1960 thru 1969 resulted in his having more than a casual involvement with some main characters in those actions - too much not to have been part of it. The JMWave (Bay of Pigs) story was told to me by Duane's own brother. A friend of the family contacted the brother about Duane's activies in the Florida area during the Bay of Pigs. (in writing and on the phone). I know first hand that Duane had more than a casual involvement in the Miami area - with known Mafia elements. He knew all about the planes and told me things, but the dumb blonde in me didn't know what he was talking about. I was introduce to some people in the Miami area who I found later were involved in the Bay of Pigs - but I didn't know who these people where until I started to investigate Duane's background and revisited the past. The N.O. thing is REAL and it is NOT pretty...now I will talk in circles the way Jamie does. I cannot tell what happened in N.O., but some real bad things happened involving people he cared about. After leaving the area the N.O. and Mobile area - he learned of the damage and went back to rectify and justify - he was out for revenge. Had it not been for his actions and involvement prior to 1968 this incident would never have happened..and the damage to those he loved would never have occured. Duane wanted to blame everyone, but himself for this. He was trying to rectify the damage, but it was too late. When the kidney thing came up in 1970/71 - he knew exactly what he was going to do - it was pay-back time. The DEED was DONE. This was an expression Duane only used TWICE in my 17 yrs with him ...but, I didn't understand what he was talking about. The Reaction of the detective when you told him you thought your father was Cooper - is the same reaction I have had - suddenly they have a phone call. Your father has never surfaced and they didn't bother to put his fingerprints in the system - there is something really wrong with that....sounds like they already know he is dead or has an ID provided by them, otherwise why not put him in the system? Did the TV program do an age regression of your Father? Jason's claim is so ridiculous - he needs to study the case and the area and the thread. I already knew what Amboy was and did NOT even realize I had been there before. I was really shocked at how CLOSE all of those things where. I would pull up to places and I knew - I was there before, but that makes me sound like Knoss and Jason and others. I don't really want to leave this world with everyone thinking I am someone like Caretaker and Jamie...I am just not in that category. It makes me sick that I am considered in this manner. I have always said I wished he had taken his secret with him...I really really do. If I had known for one moment the FBI and others would conceal facts (WHICH I CAN PROVE THEY DID), I would never have gone public. I have emails and recordings...that will be left behind in the event anyone or someone can ever uncover the truth. I serious doubt the individuals I have directed this information to will hold on to it for very long. I never in my life ever conceived this drama would go on for 14 yrs and consume my life. It was my choice and my destiny - because I hate liars and dirty government and thieves. If I had never had that conversation with a gentleman friend - I would never have known who Dan Cooper was. For one yr and 2 months MY life was normal - and it was never normal after that....now I see a young man consumed by this and I believe I hold the KEY that would unlock what he thinks he knows. That makes me as crazy as I think they are! Cooper left a lot of legacies - and one is now called the Cooper Phenomena unless you guys can think of a better name. Perhaps that is the book that needs to be written - how Cooper destroyed so many lives and forever altered some...the casualties of the legacy Cooper left behind. One would start with the crew, the FBI and right on down the line. I have, but one problem - all of this connects to the 60's ALL of it. Everything I find connects to the 60's and N.O.'s and a company out of Tx, So much I do NOT tell because of innocent individuals I refuse to pull into this and they probably don't remember anything anyway. The relative and the witnesses who told me things are all gone now - and there is only one more link to the present - a KEY that will pull the story together, but it will NOT prove Weber was Cooper. A young man in N.O. who when I met him in 1982 was still young and boyish looking although he knew Duane from the past - but this guy was not any older than myself (not by appearance). He told me he and Duane went way back. I have always thought he told me his name was Alan, but i really really don't remember, but I remember his face. I remembered how nice he was and I felt sure he was younger than I was....and I found it difficult him in my mind to make his connection to Weber...just because of the age. This is the same time I met the man I now know to be Barker - yes, Barker as in Watergate. There was another man present whose name also I do not remember but he was the host...a very very tall handsome man with a solid jaw line...I remember the shirt he was wearing. The other man I was told about by Duane's family - a man who died in 1969, but who left scars and nightmares behind. Truth be known - Duane had reason to kill this man...and maybe he went back and did just that. This is the same person questioned regarding the JFK assasination along with a man by the name of Braden. Could Braden and Weber be the same person as I never found later records regarding this Braden. Since I have absolutely NOTHING to loose at this point - and I won't be around to see the end result (if any exist) - I just as well spit all the venom out now. What do I have to loose? I believe Duane got caught up in all of this around 1962 when he was recruited out of TX and AZ and that he was still involved in 1964 while in KS working as John Collins, but he screwed up and ended up back in trouble. I think the Cooper caper was planned while he was in Jefferson (most of the reports about individuals claiming to know who Cooper was came out of Jefferson)...NOT the other prisons as they have claimed...and as Himmelsbach claimed they all went back to Coffelt. Was there a connection between Coffelt and Weber? I am not possitive about that, but they both worked for the same Company or organization out of TX.....they recruited ex-cons...I did NOT know this until a few months ago. You know what Amboy is and so do I as of Oct of 2010. The 2 guys I spoke to looked like homeless guys, but they were very polite. I didn't go in the bar - as the only time I do that is if I am someplace and the only place to get something to eat is in the bar. When I arrived n OR that first night the only restuarant in walking distance was closed and the only place to get something to eat was in the bar. So I had breakfast for dinner. I did not pick-up the rental until the next morning because I knew I would be too tired upon arrival - I know my limitations. By the way I stayed that night and the night before departing OR at the old Rodeway Inn - it is now The Red Lion Airport. A real twist because you know the Rodeway was the hotel the night clerk worked in...and that is why I stayed there. The Red Lion in Vancouver is where he pitched the paper bag. I just thought it was an interesting fact that both places are NOW Red Lions. Who is Noone (remember I have been looking for a man with a similar name - it is in the thread). Duane had told me he used to know a man in the Vancouver area - it was something like Nooten, Newton, Newsome, Neustel.....others can look it up and I communicated with a man who has a DZ in Or about the man. Since my memory was vacant except for possible names listed above - that search never went anywhere. I am sure Knoss probably spoke of this in on his FACE book and/or other mediums. I did discuss this with Knoss and ran the name past him. Outside of Duane knowing a man in the Vancouver area by one of the sound-ing names - who knows. Too much of Jason's story has been tainted by time and his communications with others. One thing stood out "they owed us". This fits the trained and then cancelled profile of a CIA operation that just didn't happen. Although Caretaker claimes they did do it???? I don't think so - one man and maybe an accomplice pulled this off. Regarding the walk-thru. Any repairs that would have been done and not up to pare would be noted. Most of the homes I sold had inspections prior to acceptance of the contracts - I often paid for these to protect myself. NO one (not even the President) is going to order a home dismanteled with the information Jason provided. Surely this man had relatives? The information I asked Jason to provide is simple and straight forward unless he just wants to extend the DRAMA...I may know the information he might need to know...but without the requested information I asked for there is NO way I can help him Pictures and vital information to me is NOT dangerous - they would be destroyed if not related to what I am looking for. Remember I got this information from 3 different sources over a 30 yr period of time and all of it was the same. I could do this with the DNA he provided, but that DNA report is incomplete for the kind of comparison that will need to be done...and it is not verifiable. Jason States: I was in Amboy in October and I stopped and talked to a couple OLD Timers there. Give Me a break - the last place Cooper would go is a BAR in Amboy on that night. How would you use an airstrip without an accomplice and without a plane and without transportation. You do know Amboy is a very rural and small place and in 1971 was just a turn in the road with a couple of stores...not much bigger now. You talk about your father having chutes lying around - prove it. Where was your father in 1969 around Oct. Was he in Atlanta, GA, Ft. Benning, GA, NC, Columbia, SC, MO. LA or KS? Was he jumping at that time? What did your mother and father do together in those yrs? Who did they associate with and do you have pictures from those days? We also don't know if the latent prints were Cooper's or if they were on the plane since it was built...he left NO prints around his seat. The prints they used came from inside the Aft Stairway. All you have to do is contact the authorities in that case and ask them if they would pull your fathers prints and check them against prints in the case. I am sure some Cold Case desk clerk would be willing to do that. . When the walk thru is done and something is there that does not go with the house it is removed or trashed. I have been a licensed real estate agent since 1979. You do NOT have a single bit of evidence. Study the case and the witness testimonies and the case over the yrs - Cooper was NOT wearing Make-up. In fact study this thread - ALL of this had been discussed over and over and over...it is there for your pleasure or displeasure. Believe it or not - this thread has more reseach and information about the case than any one other location outside of the FBI files. . I was in contact over the yrs with two individuals who worked on the river in recovery. The one who did this for over 30 yrs claims if Cooper hit the Water - he survived. Evidently from his experience there would have been something to show up over the yrs. I want to agree. The money was NOT in the river bank or in the Columbia for 8 yrs - it was protected most of those yrs, but where and how it got to Tena's bar seems to be debatable...but, NOT for me. I know in my heart from the look on his face in 1979 when he watched that paper bag float down the river and what he told me in 1995 when he said "I'm Dan Cooper"....I know how that money got to Tena's bar. One time a woman who was trying to HOAX me suggested that maybe I didn't remember the complete trip...and because of the changes and time restaints I didn't get to do everything I had scheduled for WA in this Oct of 2010 but, I think I may have remembered all I am going to remember at this stage of the game. In 2001 when I was in WA with the film crew - I rode in a car with Himmelsbach to Tena's bar. Arriving at Tena's bar I knew this was not the place Duane took me to because he walked "down" to the water on a steep incline East of the Vancouver Bridge and not West. The woman felt that I did not remember all of the stops we made - and I do remember his pointing to the West at one point talking about marsh/swamp land - and I remembered a house and trees, because I argued with Himmelsbach about this...and why I thought in the beinging we were at Tena's bar. Things had changed in 2001 - and also it could have been the route they took out to Tena's...I should have tried to recreate this, but I got side track...on my 2010 trip. Maybe someone will drop a bundle of money in my lap and the Creator will grant me a few days in Sept of 2011 - so I can do this. The weather was nasty in Oct 2010 when I was there, but I made the best of it and came home rather content. In a post above I have made public the 3rd and 4th PM's I made to Jamie after being labled a stalker. As our resident attorney - please read them and advise if they seem out of order. We have had many posters come and go - but a newbie to the Cooper case has 98% of the time taken our advise and read this thread plus the first one that got LOCKED and why. I suppose I have an attitude about newbies who come here and expect this to be a BLOG. Yes, we have our moments, but the newbies usually take our advice about reading the two threads to learn the basics of the case and what has been accomplished. Still waiting to find out what the FBI agent meant when he told me to be "patient for a few more wks". Maybe they are going to announce Jamie's father was the skyjacker! You Think? I am very serious about needing picures of Jamie over his life span....and unfortunately he reads something sinister into this. If I am wrong about this thing - I suspect, I will be the first to admit it. Even if I am right about this thing - is will NOT prove anyone is Cooper, but it will cast some more strange co-incidences into the pot. One being Motive and why the name Cooper was use. Forget What you are thinking - NO Duane Weber WAS NOT Jamie's father and NONE of my posts or PM's would suggest such a thing. Over a period of 30 yrs I was told a story by 3 different individuals - that makes me want to know MORE about Jamie because of his birth date. All 3 stories were consist and no one knew the other told me the same story...one of the most consistent denominators in my story. One of the reasons I do NOT believe Duane lied to me about other things. I was told there are newpaper articles in Kansas about Duane L. Weber / aka John C. Collins. Some of them where about the awards he won and others where about his arrest. Wonder if Snowmman can find those. Pyramid Life insurance refused to give me anything, but finding out the other day that Duane Weber nor John Collilns actually held a insurance license in Ks was ing and might be why he was purged from their records. There is one thing you can do - in the forum - post 5 pictures of yourself. Age 5, 15, 20 and 30 and 40 approx. The other question I asked was if your birth certificate indicated a witness present - such as a Dr or Nurse. and the county and state you were born in. There are people in this world who prefer NOT to BLOG their lives in the PUBLIC EYE. Frankly I am afraid of you - as you come across as a very scary person. If I called you it would be on a throw away phone - that is how scary you are. I possibily have information that might change your life - but the choice is yours.
