Jerry posted this back some time ago: D.B.Cooper - Exposed I understand they dedicated a complete chapter to JT and decided he was a nut case at the end of it. I haven't read the book, but one is on the way. Might explain Jerry excusing himself for a while...as he created the same chaos for Harry and George as he did for me. In my case what I saw didn't exist per Jerry - yet, I found all but one of the sites. Had Jerry have been the expert he claimed to be - and had actually have listened and gone to the places - this thing could have been over 10 yrs ago. As for Galen Cook it is very evident he attempted to retrace Tosaw's investigation. I don't know if the book talks about Galen and Tosaw. I will say that Galen has been at this for a long time...and so have I. We both hurt our credibility at times - because we think OUT LOUD. I will attest to the problems that causes. I was told the Nuttall's book mentions Government Island and many things I have stated and tried to tell since May 25, 1996 - I didn't even have a map of the state when I made that phone call, just a book that was mostly fiction. I knew zero about Cooper other than what was in that book and yet the things I told the FBI in those calls that evening and the ensueing conversations with Himmelsbach - are the very things I related to the FBI and others in regards to Weber with NO prior knowledge of the case. Blevins again came out with his long defensive list of why Christiansen was Cooper, yet I have those SAME kind of records regarding Duane Weber. Blevins has NOTHING on Christiansen I do not have on Weber other than he can put him in a chute. Plus Duane confessed to being Cooper and told me he hurt his leg jumping out of a plane - I just did NOT understand what he was talking about even when he said "I'm Dan Cooooper"! In the last few days something POPPED up I did NOT expect, but something I have been curious about...something Duane told me. I cannot discuss this in the thread at this time, but will when I find out the WHY and the FACTS. Since I have been questioned about the St Peterbury/ Treasure Island new articles I want to clarify something to everyone. In the artlcle Weber claims he spent 5 yrs in the Ohio Penitentiary. Well, I knew we had found an arrest, but NO convictions or record of him having resided in the prison. In 1950 when he was sentence to Folsom and then moved to SanQuentin the last 2 yrs before release in 1957...there is a NOTE in the files that state OHIO had cancelled WANTED charges against him. Without pulling the actual record they accepted his time in Folsom and San Quentin for the crime in Ohio. So what we have is an arrest in Ohio during the yrs missing on Weber. Since he was born and raise in Ohio - and just wanted to go back home after being released from McNeil and then spending some time in a "place" his parents arranged. Why did he go back to Ohio other than that is where he was born, but his mother and father are living in CA at that time. He had no family left in the Ohio area other than his Uncle. Does anyone know how to get the information on this? Was he convicted, encarcerated, escaped - or what. The FBI has NEVER provided me with the records.... and NO explanation as to why they never compared the McNeil prints with more recent prints...NOTE Carr never produced anything evidence and no documentation to me. I would appreciate a little help on all this if anyone is so inclined... My main concernes are 1946 - 1950 and the fingerprints...need comparison of the early prints and with older KNOWN prints. I think the FBI has made a lot of mistakes. These young agents did not take this old case seriously and looked thru rose colored glasses. 1945 prints should have been compared to later prints made at the other institutions...wonder what they will find (but, the FBI has waited for the 40 yr mark when his encarceration prints from Jefferson will be destroyed). This is ODD that on an old case like this that they did NOT compare the PRINTS on file from the later encarcerations.... I spoke with Mitchell, the college student who sat across the isle from Cooper. I had 2 conversation with Mitchell and the contact was orginated with a family member. Without going back to my notes, he didn't pay much attention to Cooper and was the last person to reluctantly move forward, because he was studying. He didn't really pay much attention to the man. What he said "There was something sticking out from under his pants." I asked if it was socks and he didn't think so because the man had on Dark pants and socks don't hang down so he felt it was LONG UNDERWEAR. He told this to the FBI. He said he was a college student at the time and it had been too many yrs to remember what Cooper looked like. As for the photos I had at that time of Duane - he thought the ears might be too large, but it was his only negative comment and it had just been too many yrs for him to say that a photo of anyone was Cooper. He was young and just went on with his life - and that he truely did not remember what the man looked like. This is the same with any of the witnesses if they are being truthful. If you were on a plane in 1971 and 30 yrs later (I talked to Mitchell about 10 yrs ago) even though there was a commotion about this man - would you be able to identify a photo of Cooper after 30 yrs. I frankly do not believe there is anyone who could do that. It was Mitchell's opinion that Cooper was wearing long John's and that is the ONLY thing he really remembers regarding Cooper. The post had me thinking about the Knife and Duane using ropes. I think the most important thing was a knife I showed Sluggo. I had a hole in one end which I assume made it possible to connect to your body some how so one would not loose it. When I showed this knife to Sluggo I took a tweeser to remove what I thought was apiece of cord. He thought it was a dust bunny - don't really remember, but I put the piece back into the knife...and put it in a plastic bag. Every time I make a post that really says something - it goes POOF. I will never be able to reconstuct the reply I just made and make the points I made. This POOF thing is getting to me. It doesn't happen when I am just rambling. It was about a barracks kind of room and another room with a table to pack chutes. The knife with the hole in it. Making things simple and his way of working miracle with what he had. It was about a tower. It was about his way with young people and how he influenced them. Yes, his book is an exploratory of the suspects and he will present them independently. ASK Grey if he wants to be on a talk show with you...if he declines IT is NOT for the REASON you stated. I have pulled some old files trying to find the information on the old case in FL several yrs ago...and decided to clean house. Old book from the beginning: 1968 - Duane and his wife go to N.Y. and WA? In this conversations she talks about San Diego Aircraft and I am trying to describe Ed Huran to her - blue eyes and pock marked or scared face. Ray Griffin a man Duane worked for on occasion - who had Connections? Tommy G..... threatens me on the phone. I am upset. Duane knew people in High Place and for me to get rid of everything and destroy it and not to look back if I want to be around to play with my grandkid. Galen Cook even contacted me in those pre-computer days - prior to 2000, An attorney in MA contacts me about another Cooper subject. All of my contacts with Bill Mitchell the college student - and he really didn't remember a lot. Contact no longer valid because someone asked me about them and I tried and no bananas - or is that green tomatoes. Ah this is good: MJ tells me about President Johnson and this note dated before Snow ever figured it out on the thread: Why would this ex lie to me if such detail...American Legion Convention in WA. When this was being televised - seems like it was a story that was not supposed to be told at that time. Duane was really surprised it was being made public. Then there was something in the news about the controversary this segment created....I guess why I remember it. Also since it had never been aired HOW did he KNOW about the shadows just outside of those doors unless he knew someone who WAS there. The man who they showed with the rifle. I would give anything to see that program in its entirety as it was shown on TV that first time - sometime between 1988 and 1995. I have seen an edited edition that did NOT show the men in Fatigues and the conversations that ensure on the clip discussing some individuals who where there and showed their pictures. April 4, 1966 Jefferson incarceration - no way he and the EX could be at that convention in fall of 1966 (this came up many times and she was adamant about the convention)....at that time I told her he was in prison and she insisted they went to that convention...He was sent to the prison and given a leave - NOW why would that happen? Mone of this make any sense at all...but, then I have told this story before. Of course, I have no proof - I have a woman on the other end of the phone who had been bending her arm a few times to many that evening and I am trying to stay awake - it is 2 AM and I have to be at the office at 9 AM. That is as good at the one where a family member sees Duane in Miami at the Fountain Blue and he is supposed to be in prison. What year was that -the Bay of Pig?. Did I check that one out? Was he in prison or not? I talk to Folsom and SanQuentin. Names and addresses and phone numbers for the Wardens. Elwwod Reid contacts me - Doug warns me about him. Sure enough yrs later he comes out with a fiflty Book with D.B.Cooper in the title. I didn't read it but heard it was really nasty. Now I am in WA at the Tavern, but we won't go there - because it supposedly didn't happen because the building wasn't there per another poster. But, it was and I have a list of the men who we talked to and their contact information...all written in the handwriting of Scott Coburn who was the man there with me. Larry Nelson, Scothe Neal, Wayne Hansen, Bill Guerlerson and John Snow. Snow sent us to find a man called Harry Buscik who played at Happy Days and Don Joy an old hermit type who knew the guy who looked like Duane in the late 40's. "Angel" Udell Vanvouver, WA. but the address and phone number she gave never heard of her. Well, still haven't found what I was looking for and I am tired and this is all just repeating what I have said for yrs...Good Night. P.S. They do not prove Duane was Cooper, so what is your Beef and why do you hound me about this? 377 This is why I ended up in the ER several months ago - because in a conversation with Jerry threatening me and repeatedly saying "Tell me you are lieing and I won't release those tape" over and over and over and over. I could have hung up. but I kept trying to tell him he was the one who provided the names of the places - all I did was describe them. The most important thing is Duane and I crossed the Columbia before going to Lake Lacames, but Jerry insisted Duane doubled back and I was on the Columbia and that we went to Portland and up I-5. I knew we were on 500 and did NOT go to Portland until the return trip on our way to Tahoe. I even have a letter I wrote to Himmelsbach in 1996 with a drawing (elementary) describing what I was talking about - and I tried to explain this to Jerry. Since Jerry was not posting after that incident - he has NOT even bothered to read back and find out that I did PROVE what I said. He cannot handle the fact I was in WA and OR for 15 days and what I found and that I have notes and tapes and names of people. He didn't want to know about the people Duane knew in Rufus and Biggs - because he cannot deal with any part of my story being true even those these things do NOT prove Weber was Cooper. I am sorry - I just do not get it. I am willing to listen to anyone's story and see if any of the knowledge I have acquired will help them to find resolutions. Otherwise why would I even remind you guys of a remote story that has been long lost in the Cooper stories, but one that did indeed happen. Since this was not something I actual saw or held in my hands - it is a matter of trying to pull it out of my memory. I had been informed of the article and contacted someone involved. The individual was not well and I never got to talk to him. I do not remember how long ago this was - it may have been prior to 2002 and before my posting days. Vickie's story is what caused me to have this flash back. It may be something as simple as one of the individuals having the last or first name of Melvin or Wilson and be entirely unconnected...I really do NOT know why Vickie's story caused me to remember the article...but, it is worth a look see....I have always follow my gut even when it was wrong or if it made a fool out of me. I suggest you pull them while you can still correct the lables. Once false information is out there it forever stays and it never gets corrected. Been there and done that. I want to know which is the correct photo upon his arrest in 1971. If it is the one I orginally saw then it is very slim that the photo of your father labled 1971 with the sun glasses was taken in 1971. - People get older - not younger. This is why I do these things myself - someone else gets it all turned around and upside down. Once these things are made public with the wrong labels then before you know it - No One gets it and they just move on. I am sure Quade or someone can get the photo taken down until they are labeled correctly. To me the one important photo is the arrest photos of 1971...it is the best to find your father. I had wanted to print it out - because I got a hunch about something...but, I can't use my memory - I need to download the photo and print it....I got a hunch and we need his prints. There was a man from Central Florida who contacted the media about his friend who had died and he claimed the man was Cooper - I will really have to dig for all of that information and maybe Sluggo remembers the claim out of Central FL This was AFTER I went public. I can't remember the name use by this man - but if my mind remembers - the name Wilson or Melvin was either the person who was supposed to be Cooper or the friend. There were never any pictures of this available to my knowledge. What IF! Seems like the person who contact the media was a Minister. Sluggo - get it right for her - she doesn't need her life bogged down the way mine has been for 15 yrs. SURELY someone remembers that story out of central Fl. I am drawing a blank and I know I studied it and even contacted this man's son....but it has just flew out the window of the coocoos nest - my brain. Good pictures: I am having a problem with the eye color which is obviously light from the pictures (blue or hazel). The lower lips are much more fuller than any composite and the area under his chin (I guess I call it a qoiter) - someone else might know what would cause this appearance. I just feel if Cooper had this fullness under his chin it would have been noted by at least one witness. His disappearance in late 1971 fascinates me. Question for anyone. Today do they fingerprint people before they bury them or cremate them? I have often wondered if Duane was fingerprinted before they cremated him...the funeral home is gone and no one knows where the records are or any details.
