That is a good idea - this is a hell of a lot more fun. The Big screen features the Search for D.B. Cooper - except it is the generation for Computers and Survival TV programs - put it all together and betcha it would pull the newer generations into the Cooper Game....some hot shot just might go away with 200K or more. Pick 12 individuals and tell them every question will be about the History of D.B. Cooper from 1971 to 2011...that is 40 yrs of stories - myths and truths. Wonder how many will know which one's are myth and which ones are truths. Each one is asked the same question in a sound booth. PS maxium age will be 30 - that ought to be fun to watch. Some the really good ones here would serve on the panel asking the questions. Each Question has to have a proven range of answers. Something like that might trigger enough interest to solve this and other unsolved crimes. After 1 hr every contestant would be eliminated - and there would be NO winner. They use the old Bing Crosby Composite and there nothing thing about Hazel eyes other than a copy of an item and you catch the color of eyes written as Hazel. They neglect to note that the witnesses all said Cooper had dark brown eyes. The floor thing with the hinges - not unusual for a house that old and anyone who did not have a safe - I expect he might have kept coins there. Nothing I noted unusual about his money. Duane bought 2 new car and a trailer (not in a trailer park) and then put central heat and air in it. I saw nothing unusual about his money situation for the times. Coopers face was angular and KC has an oval face. The friend of Christiansen I really felt sorry for - it sounded like he was dragged into this and with no preparation for the questions they were going to ask. Individuals who know nothing about the search for Cooper nor the situations and subjects who have been presented in this thread - might bite into it hook and sinker. Any production company will do an Option - but an option is nothing. They sit on it waiting for the FBI or someone to comfirm Christiansen is Cooper. I was disappointed the women you showed pictures of did not appear. I expect it was because their testimonies may have come off a little weak. Did they really surprise the man or was he aware they were coming? Yea, I got brave enough to ask someone if they would record it for me and instead was asked to their home to view it. These people had asked me about Duane before and they invited me to their home to view it. I was disappointed the production crew did NOT dig deeper...such as asking the prior owners if they were aware of the hinged attic and that NO testing was done to explain what the hiding place may have been used for. He was NOT a reader of Books. 2. He did NOT like more than one contact with a client and little contact with his co-workers (why he always took the traveling positions). Why his policies where delivered by me or mailed. 3. He did NOT talk to me about Cooper and I wasn't interested in the subject. 4. The subject was mentioned 3 times (maybe 4) in 17 yrs and one of those was 11 days before he died. Any comment was extremely brief and in passing other than the time in the hospital when he told me "I'm Dan Cooooper"! 5. The trigger was the trip to WA. He became more focused and aware of things. He made concerted efforts to build a new image of himself, but the real building would not happen until he took the DSM position in VA. 6. His taking the position in VA seemed to be a pivitol point and this is when the book showed up about NorJack (one he could NOT let me read, because he was afraid I would piece it together with what happened in WA in 1979). 7. Another book which again I have no idea what happened to that showed a picture of some towers, logging, forestry workers and some men and truck (on similar, but not the same as the one Snowman produced about Camino, CA.) Same guys and same truck - but different photo. More of the truck was exposed in the book. NO one has ever been able to find what book that came out of (I have researchers on this for yr. in CA and in the West in general). P.S. on number 7. By the way - the tower in the book is when Duane said "I help build that". This is the tower that Caretaker claimed I talked about in WA - so you can see how twisted he gets things - this was a major one for me. There was NO tower on the WA trip Duane claimed to have helped build. 8. Did going back to WA and either finding the money or getting rid of it - was that the trigger? Was he Cooper or did he know who was Cooper? This man made something out of his life and tried to undo the wrong he could - but, what did that? He was definitely still on a self-destruct pattern in 1978, 1979 and 1980. Even in 1981 and 1982 - and a 1983 - he was nervous about exposure....of course, that would have been his extensive criminal background I was unaware of. 9. Why even when the shop opened was he so nervous about a man who came to the shop he learned was a private investigator? I would contact this man after I found out about Cooper and he told me he was NOT investigating Duane, but simply a collector of old phonograph players and old albums. This is a sales opportunity ad in Mobile paper June of 1980 -- Looked like this person worked for a financial institution based out of Atlanta -- maybe trying to get students into college loans. Says to call Duane Weber if you're interested in this sales job. Just saying...if this is him, doesn't seem like he was worried about advertising his name -- maybe he left Fort Collins cause he got a better job opportunity in sales. ?? Yes, that was him. That was an organization a friend of his set-up, BUT, that is NOT what he was doing when he left to go to AL from CO. He went to AL with his clothes and his car and promises of leads with a company he had worked for out of the past and one that history shows had JMWAVE connections in the 60's and a company that hired anyone. The company in the ad you found was a program set up by a friend of Duane's in Atl. It never got off the ground in AL and was just money down the tubes. I am still friends with this man in Atl. Duane left Ft. Collins in March - so for 2 or 3 months he was floundering around in the South trying to build himself a nest, when his friend decides to open an office there...it did not work out - so we ended up back in Atl and working for the same Company he had been working for in Ft. Collins, CO. This company is where he belonged - benefits, health insurance and a decent income.....he just had to recruit, hire and train people, but he did NOT want that kind of contact with people. We had gone to the state of VA with a traveling sales mgmt contract, but after the 1st yr. they wanted an office opened and agents hired and trained. Between the Regional SM and myself we convinced him he could do it when he was offered the DSM in VA. When he got drunk before making the decision - he said "I have to keep a LOW-profile because of my record". Since I only knew about the 2 months he possibly spent in a county jail - from the 1978 nightmare about the aft-stairs, I encouraged him. I reminded him that he had been selling insurance in lots of places over the yrs and NO mention had ever been made of his past. He had made a mistake in his youth and it was behind him (so I thought). It was dead and gone. He accepted the position and we made LOTS of money until 1988. Thank heavens I am a penny pincher and our renewals were very healthy. He went on disabililty in 1988. Hope this answer your question. The ad was a good find - but, it did not change Duane's history or work background. The entire time he was trying to get this office off and running - he had to work leads with another non-competitve company to weasel out a living...why we ended up going back to our other company which by the way was domiciled in Seattle, WA. Wrong Georger: I did find the places he took me and I have tried to tell what happenend on that trip and what he said. You are short changing there - I don't even know when McCoy was killed but it was BEFORE we moved to Va. Bch, Va - we moved there in late 1983. He did NOT go out of his way to point the house out, but he was showing me where the shopping centre was and it was not to far from there. I did not think much about it. P.S. Please leave me out of Knoss's liberations. You are right in one aspect - he did NOT talk about his past - Cooper or otherwise. Until 1984 he was very closed mouth about his past. That was the first yr his sister had an address for him and he called her...he was so proud of that house. You would never believe how much pride he took in the house and we were really making GOOD money - very good money...and this would continue until 1988 at which time I basically became the breadwinner and the shop and his disability supplemented us. When the book on Norjack came out I asked what the book was about and he made an off the wall remark that I wouldn't be interested in it (note Duane NEVER read books). This was the 1st book I had ever known him to purchase. When I asked for the book so I could read it - it convenienenty was in the hands of one of the guy who worked for us. I did NOT get to read that book until Late 1996 AFTER his confession and AfTER my conversations with Himmelsbach when he sent me a copy. The book I read first was fictional book - D. B. Cooper, What Really Happened by Max Gunther in May of 1996 and after reading just a short way was on the phone to the FBI. It was after this stop that we went to the place on the Columbia with be big Tank and then to the Red Lion where he threw the paper sack in the river. Thanks for having the GUTs to reply with answers that parallel my own. My own story is the same thing over and over with no proof, but Caretaker has to realize that somethings absolutely cannot BE the way he sees them. You might fool 1% of the people, but you can't fool 99%...such as McCoy not being McCoy. Next thing we know someone will be trying to tell us JFK was not killed as we watched it on TV. I had to take the step forward and do what I did. It may have hurt me more than it did him, but I knew it was Time. I maintain Weber was Cooper, but if someone wishes to contribute something constructive pro or con that is great as long as it is realistic or just in fun. Most of the claims cannot be supported but for the most part they are realistic. Perhaps there are thoses who would think - Why would she try to stop someone who agreed with her ultimate goal? Someone with NO knowledge of this case - could easily fall into Caretakers story and most of us have worked hard to keep Myths and Truths from becoming intermingled. Regardless of who Cooper was and how strongly I believe Weber was Cooper - I refuse to be a participant in a ruse or something that far out. I had hoped the day would never come that I would have to do what I did - but, there have been times the forum and others participants here have had to let me know - OOopps, JO! Enough! You (Knoss) first contacted me in August of 2001. When you did this - I called Pasternak and Himmelsback. I have LOTS of emails with Himmelsbach and Pasternak where I discuss the things you told me and the BAIT used. Bear in mind at this time I had already had discussions with the Night Clerk and 2 articles had been done in Washington, plus the articles done by Pasternak. It was important for me to filter out truths from people just trying to feed me things. We had verified your telling me about Duane being in Mn with the ex-wife and decided to PLAY along and see what happened. You would again continue to feed what seemed on the surface to be reliable information. That is dated: August 18 2001. On August 22, 2001 - you had just been able to obtain a copy of the U.S. News and World Reports article. In this email you are going on about Bush and Hitler...absolutely no connection to the subject. August 23, 2001 - you are going on about McCoy and I have told you I don't believe you. August 23, 2001 - now you have taken the BAIT - suddenly you make this remark. "Mack liked the name Tommy Gunn and said that's the name he would use". Do you want me to continue? August 23, 2001 - " The picture of McCoy was a man who died of cancer. He did not look anything like McCoy" "McCoy had black hair and sharp features, was handsome, taller than Duane, a scar on his right cheek near his eye" "You have met McCoy. August 25, 2001: So far we haven't discussed the details of the crime, but it is August 25 and I do talk about the crime itself. I talk about a cottage on a body of water - a cabin where he took clothes from. I surmise a car had to be in Seattle because of the parking ticket or that someone picked him up....ALL suppositions and not specific. I have never said Duane buried anything under a ranger tower. I NEVER SAID DUANE BURIED ANYTHING UNDER A RANGER TOWER!. What I have said - Duane took me to an area and we went into the forest on a dirt road for about 2 football lenghts. There was a Clearing in a circle. He stated that maybe he missed his turn - that perhaps it was the road before this one. After sitting there looking around he satisfied himself he WAS in the right place. He pointed to our right and told me there used to be a shed there and that he buried something behind it at one time. NOTE: he never said chute NOR did he ever identify the object. He then told me about the tower that used to be there (he DID NOT say Ranger Tower). He said one could see the light for miles. He then pointed down to an area slightly to our left and showed me an area where the tree line was lower. He said "there used to be a logging road thur there that went all the way to the tracks". I DO NOT know if that was a RANGER Tower and I do NOT know WHAT he buried behind a Shed. He said nothing a about helping to build that Tower. The Tower - Duane claimed to have help build was a Picture in a Book...this was 5 yrs later while we were living in Virginia. You missed the logic on this one. If Cooper hit the ground and survived - he is intent on one thing getting away from the area he landed in. Regardless of if the skyjacking was planned or not - Cooper did not expect to survive and no one could have been more surprised than he was. I think Cooper actually expected to be caught and sent to prison...it was the only life he knew as he had spent most of his adult life in prison. He had a bad diagnosis and knew he would eventually face a kidney machine and he didn't have money to pay for his health care. He was still very able bodied, but knew from watching his mother that he didn't want to die that way.

I have been where Jamie is. I understand what he is going thru more than any other individual in this thread. There is MUCH you and others in this thread do NOT know about the past of Duane L. Weber - things even I have kept secret....things I have NOT told to protect those who are innocent of wrong doing and who themselves have been victimized. I am hoping that Jamie was not another victim of the D.B. Cooper Story and why I have asked him for some specific information. Life is a vicious circle and I have gone full circle as my life winds down to an end. There was subsequent posting regarding the family who found the money. They had separated the money and tried to dry it out - hence, to me this sounds as though the only description they have regarding the rubber bands would be what the Ingrams relayed...and then later Brian in subsequent yrs. As with everything else - memory is subject to change. The best recall would be statements made to the FBI at the time of the find...by Brian and his parents. He made several statements during that short conversation that proved to me he KNOWs absolutely nothing about the case. For example - "your ex-husband" and I did not even correct him. I am going to go out on a limb here and propose something very different all together. Take this scenario: What if the child had grown up hearing - your father was D.B.Cooper. Perhaps just for the fun of it because their names were really Cooper. Now put a strange twist on this story - since the mother and father were NOT married for a long period of time and divorced after the child was born. There are many questions to be answered. Did young Cooper's father - have other children? His mother we know had 2 other children by someone else. Jamie has never stated if his father had other natural children he fathered. If Jamie was the only seed - then this become territorial. What we have been told of Jamie's life doesn't feel natural...such as when the father took Jamie and held onto him during a time of unsettlement and only relinquished him when the baby started to fret. This sound like a father fighting to keep the only thing he had that was his very own. Then we have a mother who after the fact uses the child as leverage - claiming to have secrets. This does not have the feel of a loving mother who wants to shield her child. I have even stated that if Jamie's father had been Cooper - the reward money would have offset any lost his mother might have suffered in child support. There is more to this story than what Jamie knows or was told. There is something beneath the surface only the mother and father knew. Perhaps Jamie needs to explore with an open mind the circumstances of his birth.....perhaps he need to check into his birth records with his eyes open and with an open heart, because this secret is eating away at his life. If there was someone who was supposed to expose a secret to Jamie at a later date - that person may have decided that the timing was not right and that he might be better off know knowing...a person making this decision would destroy the evidence - NOT hide it away. This being the basis of what he heard all of his life - that would create false memories. The biggest puzzle is why did these 2 parents chose to perpetuate the story about D.B. Cooper. Why was the wife so resentful and why did she use the child as leverage, which according to Jamie's story seems to be the case? This is the reason I have "badgered" him for lack of a better word about his knowledge regarding the facts that surrounded his birth. In 1970 -in some states if an underage girl gave birth to a child she could give the child to the other parent if the other parent was married and could provide a stable home. It did not even require adoption papers in most states in 1970. Where is the house attorney and where is our child psychologist?
