  1. I'm not offended by being called a thief l Well I guess if you are going to raise prices because of this change its wrong!! We can go on and on about how the cost of business has gone up and prices have not changed in 20 years but that was not the question that we have at hand. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  2. Here is one that is really low. I think he has a 143r http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=6847&string=marko First, Hey all! After visiting this site every day the past six months I finally registerd

  4. YES!! Enlightenment. I suggest to everyone else that is pissing and moaning about what they Charge for a repack - go get a new job. Otherwise, sit down and hush or we find a new rigger that is more reasonable . There I fixed it for you Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  5. It really just pisses me off that there are riggers that think they should charge more now because of this change. I got a letter today from a customer that stated if I want to continue doing business with them I have to allow them to take 10% off every months bill until April due to the economy. They are 80% of my business and they already cut 50% of the volume. Now you guys are going to do less work and want more money. (BULLSHIT) if you ask me. I think Ill will get my rigger ticket so I wont be robbed by thieves. My last two cents Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  6. Well we will never know the answer to that for sure, will we? Anyone can say yes to something that they know they will never have to do!!!! Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  7. My income has bin cut close to 50 percent.Thats why I am reacting the way I am Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  8. Since the reserve repack cycle is being raised to 180 days, an increase of 33%. Will riggers likewise increase their prices? That was the original question and from that question I dont think they should! They are doing the same job , just less times. As I said before the customer will always eat the raising cost of things in the end. There is NO rising cost here. They are just working less. Yes they will have to do more to make the same money. How is that the consumers problem. My costs in my business have gone up and I am being asked to lower my prices and do the same work. So why should I pay someone more money to do less work? Hey don't get me wrong here , I'm pissing up stream. I know that the price will go up. I just don't think its right!!!! Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  9. You do realize a rigger has to use certain things when doing a repack. There is the replacement of the closing loop, the cleaning of the cables, new rubberbands (if he inspects & packs the main), the seal, seal thread. Guess what? the cost of the material to make the closing loop has gone up, the price of the lubricant for the cables has gone up, the price of seal thread has gone up, the price of seals has gone up... . Skydiving in all aspects is expensive - deal with it or find a new sport. No I think Ill stay and not deal with you you catching on yet? NO IM not! His supplies costs just changed this week ? Yea I realize that.. None of that has change this week!!! The only thing that has changed is that I don't need a repack for a180 day. His supplies are still the same SO WHY WOULD IT COST MORE TO DO THE SAME THING AS LAST WEEK? Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  10. What about people in the "real world" that get raises every year even though they're still doing the same amount of work? Or the price of groceries/food going up. For example Pizza Hut recently raised the price of a pizza. I still get the same amount of pizza, but now it's $1 more. So it's ok for the rest of the world to raise prices but not riggers...interesting.... You are talking about inflation. That is totally different. The price of gas when I was a kid was .25. Now its over $2.00 As for the price for a repack 20 years ago was a lot cheaper then it is now Of course the consumer will always pay the price. If it cost more for riggers to their job I would expect them to raise their price. Just like every DZ I know raising their prices this year. Its not costing them more to pack less. Its that they are working less so they will be making less. There is a difference It's hard for riggers to put up prices because the rigger down the street may not and skydivers being cost conscious folk may just go there instead. Its the same way in my business. Their is always someone willing to do it cheaper. I work for car dealers and they are always looking to cut corners especially now!!! Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

  17. That great!!! I just had both my rigs repacked in the past month. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  18. Assuming no cutaways, you only need to get three repacks a year under the current rules. So your math doesn't work - same cost at 3x $50 or 2x $75. oops brain fart!!!! Fixed it Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  19. I have them on my rigs . I have not had one problem at all with them. I never notice them opening while freeflying either. Just to add I have over 400 jumps on these rigs. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  20. My bet is that they will raise the price up a little. Logic is that you need it done twice a year so you are still saving money. Example from 50 to 60 instead of 75. If you get three repacks in a year at 50 that is 150 If you get two pack jobs a year at 60 that is 120 So you are still saving money I can see some of them trying to use this as a sales pitch I agree that it should stay the same. They are still doing the same job as before just further apart Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  21. § 105.43 Use of single-harness, dual parachute systems. * * * * * (a) The main parachute must have been packed within 180 days before the date of its use by a certificated parachute rigger, the person making the next jump with that parachute, or a non certificated person under the direct supervision of a certificated parachute rigger. I got this from the link below page 6 left column http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2008/pdf/E8-27459.pdf So the rule for packers have not change if I am reading this correct. Just the the amount of days that it has to be done in. You don't need to be a rigger to pack mains for other people , Correct? Another question I have . I have given packing classes to students. Is that allowed?( For Mains) I always thought it was and now I am wondering if it is. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  22. Can a coach sign off anything, or just the two way skills? It depends on the card you are using. If its the 4 part card then Yes a coach can sign off on some parts of that card. If its the two sided card only a instructor can sign off on that card Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
