  4. As noted very early in this thread, Eric is a stand up guy who will do(and now has done) the right thing. Eric, please post an address so I can send you a check to help you buy some new gear? You make us proud brother! You're an inspiration and I hope my son (who started jumping this summer) is reading this thread. Your honesty and integrety is just one reason I love jumpen camera for you guys. As for Ralph, I bought some gear from you many, many years ago. Many people speak highly of you and your business practices. Please remember, Actions speak louder than words! When you are dealing with Goz to get your gear back, remember that Eric is also a victom in this. So you are saying he gave it back?? Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  5. I really think you are missing the point here. All he is saying is once you get your A. You are responsible for your self. No more mandatory gear checks, Nothing. Of course I/ you should listen to people with more experience. Not ALL do. The only one (This is my understanding of it) is the S&TA or the DZO can ground someone for safety infractions. A instructor can advise you on something but its your responsibility to listen. If it was me and the advise was not listen too and I thought they might hurt themselves or others I would bring it up to the proper people and have them talk to them. I really think thats all he is trying to say Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  6. I thought this Ralph guy was the one that did not know how to check out customers. Now you UR saying SQ1 fucked people too. Who can we trust? That Not what he had said . You took what he said out of contents. READ AGAIN!!! Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  7. Ill sent fifty bucks. I don't think the Dealer( Don'T like naming names. They have yet to post) and the OP will both be careful the next time they do business. I don't think either should lose in this situation. Mistakes were made lets move past that. Scott since you are doing the posting for the Dealer. Is it possible for you to find out how this can be resolved WITHOUT both parties losing out. A happy medium as they say. PM and if their is ill send my 50 in? We are all skydivers and I don't think that anybody should get FUCKED any further in this situation. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  8. Thanks buddie Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  9. You tell me . You taught me Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  10. Ok thanks . My post is really on the money side of this. Some people feel that if I as a coach wear my camera on those jumps its taking money out of their pockets. I feel if the student wants a video of the jump that's fine they can pay for it from the out side. But I like using the video in the debrief and they think if the student doesn't pay then I shouldn't wear it. Its not like im cutting them a DVD or anything. Just using it for the debrief. I caught shit for it. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  11. *** Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  12. 200 is the MIN. to fly camera. That does not mean that you or anyone esle is really ready. The guys above have a lot of experience at this. Why is it so important to you to fly with a camera? The next question is why cant you wait for that? Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  13. I was talking to some people and I was getting different views on this. I was wondering what people thought when doing coach jumps or AFF if you wore a camera to help in your teaching process Some people got upset with me for doing this on coach jumps. I would review the jump with them in the debrief. Some people were upset, saying I was taking money out of pockets. I would not give them a copy . It was for education purposes only. Any opinions? 14. look at post above yours. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  15. SSK is in LEBANON, OHIO, USA. AIRTEC is in Germany. If the stolen gear lists had the information for the police, that's where SSK would contact. Do you have a problem with the idea that involving the police in a theft? Don't you think it would help to avoid fraud in the stolen gear lists themselves? I dont have a problem with that at all. I think it would protect both parties. In this case if the police were involved I think the the dealer would get the gear back and Im not sure if that would be right or wrong. I wish the dealer in this case would work something out with the OPer . I mean its been four years. He had to get some money back from this I would think and it would be a get PR move if you ask me. But no one is asking me but you Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  16. Ok thanks I thought they were in Germany. Sorry Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  17. Ask in video section Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  18. I was talking to another gear store about all this. He stated that its SSK policy, If gear is on a stolen list they automatically send the product to the Dealer. ( SSK didnt say this , A dealer I know said it) You also have to remember that SSK is in Germany not in the US so their laws are different then ours. I find it funny that a lot of questions were answered here but one was not. DID THE DEALER RECEIVE ANY COMBINATION ON HIS LOSSES??????? Edited for spelling Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  19. what has the velcro to do with that ? If you had ever seen a PArachutes de France toggle, you would definitely adopt that system. No I wouldn't.
  20. I like this for the pilot chute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axCeYlY_6io&feature=channel_page Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  21. The images on here are over two years old. I pulled my DZ up and its a lot different now then whats in the image. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  22. http://obit.krowickigorny.com/obitdisplay.html?id=619113&listing=Current[url] I came across this if anyone would like to see Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  23. I had to look back in my log book. My first one was at #397 It was a lot of fun but very nerve racking Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  24. As a more experienced jumper I can see them looking threw all those listing. But a newer jumper I don't think so. Im not even sure I would even after reading this tread. My general practice is to have the gear sent to a rigger and have them do a inspection and if the gear is good I buy it. I think to tell or ask someone to look threw the archives and the updated one then the one on DZ.com is a little much. Then again the other option is what Eric is going threw. I say just buy new and be done with it!! Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  25. The law doesnt really care about Websters when talking about legal definitions. ok you made me want to look further This is off this web site http://dictionary.law.com/ fraud the intentional use of deceit, a trick or some dishonest means to deprive another of his/her/its money, property or a legal right. A party who has lost something due to fraud is entitled to file a lawsuit for damages against the party acting fraudulently, and the damages may include punitive damages as a punishment or public example due to the malicious nature of the fraud. Quite often there are several persons involved in a scheme to commit fraud and each and all may be liable for the total damages. Inherent in fraud is an unjust advantage over another which injures that person or entity. It includes failing to point out a known mistake in a contract or other writing (such as a deed), or not revealing a fact which he/she has a duty to communicate, such as a survey which shows there are only 10 acres of land being purchased and not 20 as originally understood. Constructive fraud can be proved by a showing of breach of legal duty (like using the trust funds held for another in an investment in one's own business) without direct proof of fraud or fraudulent intent. Extrinsic fraud occurs when deceit is employed to keep someone from exercising a right, such as a fair trial, by hiding evidence or misleading the opposing party in a lawsuit. Since fraud is intended to employ dishonesty to deprive another of money, property or a right, it can also be a crime for which the fraudulent person(s) can be charged, tried and convicted. Borderline overreaching or taking advantage of another's naiveté involving smaller amounts is often overlooked by law enforcement, which suggests the victim seek a "civil remedy" (i.e., sue). However, increasingly fraud, which has victimized a large segment of the public (even in individually small amounts), has become the target of consumer fraud divisions in the offices of district attorneys and attorneys general. Stolen the crime of possession of goods which one knows or which any reasonable person would realize were stolen. It is generally a felony. Innocent possession is not a crime, but the goods are generally returned to the legal owner. That answers alot right there With that said sorry eric if you cant work something this the dealer hit me up. I will chip in too Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
