Skydive Long Island (Calverton) Make A Wish
ozzy13 replied to Para5-0's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Email from Manifest at SDLI Hi All! Just wanted to send a little reminder that Rich's 40 for 40 benefit for the Make A Wish Foundation is this Friday, June 13th beginning at 7am. Local media such as News 12, WBAB, WBLI, and WABC77 will be present throughout the day and will be broadcasting the event live on air. All volunteers are welcome to help out in any way possible, from handing out information, to selling raffles and collecting donations. Please remember you do not need to be present to donate :-) All proceeds from the event are going to the Make a Wish Foundation to help a little girl named Hannah from Huntington go to Disney with her family. Hannah will be here at Skydive Long Island rooting on all the jumpers beginning around 12pm. Our goal is to reach $10,000 for the event and every penny helps! Please visit http://www.skydivelongisland.com/makeawish.shtml for a printable donation form that you can mail in to: Skydive Long Island, 4062 Grumman Blvd Bldg #24 Calverton, NY 11933 or bring down in person. The first load is scheduled for 7am on Friday with Rich taking Fingers from WBAB on a tandem skydive and afterwards the 40-40 will commence. Experienced skydivers are more than welcome to join Rich on his jumps as well as cheer him on from the ground. You may pre-manifest at anytime by e-mail or by calling 631-208-3900. We will also have accuracy comp loads and other fun festivities going throughout the day with half the winnings going to the winner and the other half to Make a Wish. Multiple manufacturers such as PD, UPT, WINGS, SSK Industries, and ALTI-2 have joined as sponsors for the event as well as have also donated multiple gift certificates and items to be raffled off (I.e. 25% off a Neptune, 50% off a Wings container, 30% off a Vector 3 container, 30% off a Racer Container, multiple DVDs and T-shirts as well as jumps and many other goodies) after sunset and we will also have a 50/50 raffle. Beginning at sunset, we will kick off Dicky's annual Crab Fest and all are welcome to attend! A Live DJ will here throughout the evening providing some awesome live entertainment and beer and crabs will be plentiful! The cost to participate during the evening hours is $25 per person and wrist bands will be available at all hours during the day. The proceeds will also be going to the Make A Wish Foundation. For all of you that need to work on Friday you can still attend the festivities, so come on down!!! FYI, Mark your calendars... Our first CASA Boogie of the season is June 20th-22nd!!! Pre-Register today by calling 631-208-3900! If you have any questions, would like to make a donation, or need further information please don't hesitate to contact us! Look forward to seeing you all very soon! Blue Skies, Lauren Skydive Long Island Calverton, NY 631-208-3900 www.skydivelongisland.com Celebrating 22 Years of Excellence! This is from Para5-0 To All of My Skydiving Friends at Skydive Long Island, I wanted to take a moment to say hello and kindly request that we all band together for a worthy cause. On June 13th, I will be making 40 jumps in one day to benefit a little girl named Hannah. Hannah is 15, has been diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia, and had a wish to go to Disney World. As of today we are only 1/10 of the way to our $10,000.00 goal. For the cost of one jump, we can absolutely make a difference in a local girl’s life. I have attached a sponsorship form which is very self explanatory. Any checks or donations can be sent to Skydive Long Island with the form. Please take a few moments and bring this form to your workplace, local eateries, local business’s, gas stations, ETC….anywhere you think you can get a donation (Any amount will be accepted and appreciated) We will have prizes for the most sponsorship money raised, as well as many other fun activities going on throughout the day. News 12, WABC(77), and other local media will be present and broadcasting all day to promote the event. The day’s events will conclude with the ever popular Dicky’s Crab Fest to also benefit the cause. For $25.00 you get all you can eat Crabs cooked on premise. Please, can you give us a hand? It feels good when we all band together, I know we are a small yet diverse group, but I know we can pull this off. Thank You and as always Blue Skies, Rich Winstock Never give the gates up and always trust your rears! -

When you click "show user's posts" that performs a search function. The "score" is how closely the message matches the requested search character string. The closer to 100%, the more closely the match. Why a name search like this isn't all "100%", beats me... Thanks Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Thank you everyone for voting. Looks like most people feel the same way I do. I have read in here what people think the role of a coach is. I must say when I did my coach jumps they sucked. The guy I did them with had a couple 1000 jumps exited the plain with me. Fell down the pipe and at the end of the jump gave me a 2 minute de-briefing. I didn't learn any thing. I got my card signed because I docked on him. Ok I think my role as a coach is to fine tune and get the student to understand everything he or she learn in AFF. A good coach jump takes me at least one hour ground prep. Going over the dive flow numinous times. The in air and the de- briefing. Now with that said. I know everyone knows this. I just don't think at a 100 jumps I had the skills to do this. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

I am Expensive, But worth it. Well, damn! J wins out...and here I thought offering free sex-slave services would win the bid. Lesson learned: Never sell yourself cheap. I think this is the only thing I learned here. I still dont no what the score means lol Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Every time any of us make a post, Each and every Post is reviewed by all the Mods. Each Mod then rates each post for Content, Composition and Delivery. Those scores are then combined and averaged out to give each a user rating. Those ratings are used to determine how much each of us are paid in royalties from the Millions of Dollars that this site brings in from advertising revenue. Those of us from The Farm used our royalty checks from last month to buy this. Next month we are thinking Casa. sweet that helped a lot. Where is my check. I can use some money !!!!
