  1. I've got it set to 25 concurrent users, with a 5 connection per IP max. The biggest problem is people who leasve their connection open for DAYS on end. I'm trying to get the FTP server to disconnect them automatically, but it isn't working propelry.... Oh well, at least bandwidth isn't a problem... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  2. 1985 Cutlass GT, with the 3.8 litre V6, bucket leather seats, Console shifter... Sweet ride. I bought it for $500, sold it a year later after the timing chain broke for $100. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  3. WooHoo! Congrats to Merrick.... This has been a long process. I'm so happy this move is working out for you guys... What's the job? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  4. When I was skiing compeditively, I'd frequently whack into gates (intentionally), sometimes at over 50MPH. Original ski gates were bamboo, and they'd break. Over time they'd replace the bamboo gates with plastic gates on a flexible rubber base. When we'd whack into the gate, the pole could just bend over out of our way, then bounce right back into the original shape. The rubber base was strong enough to support the gates with a pretty big flag on top. I wonder why something like this isn't used for wind-blades. Any skiiers here know what I'm talking about, and can explain why we don't use something like that? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  5. I was on a sales call last week, selling the product I've spent the last 2 years coding. The application is at version 2.6.1, those numbers being major release, minor release, bugfix. On one of my sales visits, the person I was meeting with asked me how our product can possibly be better then our compeditors, because they were at version 3.0, and we were only at 2.6.1. Honestly, I can't blame them. Especially now with the trend having major releases numbered as the year (eg windows 98, 2000, office 2000, etc). Office 2000 IS better then Word Perfect 98. And if Symantec came out with a 2003 and Norton didn't? People would assume that 2003 is better then 2002, and buy it - just because it's a bigger number. I'm starting to believe that most major releases are purely done for maketing reasons. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

  10. I have a spare pair you can have, if you're ever in the area. Otherwise, Radio Shack is fine. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  11. They are very popular at Chicagland... I was looking at getting one, but decided the read out was too small for me. I might consider getting one when I'm more confident in my visual altitude recognition... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  12. The old guys who don't understand freeflying don't bug me. Older people are allowed to be narrow minded in my books, for the most part that comes with age, to some degree. People just get to the point where they LIKE what they're doing, and don't see a need to learn something new. That's a bad thing then they're 28... but if they're 58? or 68? I won't hold it against them. What I really don't understand is the attitude among so many freeflyers that they ONLY freefly. People who simply won't jump with anyone unless they're on their head. Young people have no excuse for not learning new things, and good RW skills are definately dificult to learn, and a whole lotta fun when you pull it off. A lot of people talk about RW skills and say things like "you should learn RW because it's part of your history". It's not only part of our history, it's part of our present, and part of our future. You can think of it the same way as style and accuracy... Accuracy isn't dead, DZ's still have 'peas'. People are still trying to nail the peas. A big part of every swooping competition is an accuracy contest. Accuracy has just evolved into HIGH PERFORMANCE accuracy. RW is doing the same thing. RW jumps keep getting bigger and bigger. Younger and younger jumpers are being able to jump in on 20+ ways. Hell, our very own Vallerina did a two-plane shot 40+ way last weekend, and if I remember correctly, she's got 250ish jumps. That's AWESOME. I'm jealous! Anybody who thinks RW is going away has got blinders on. And before anybody says something, yes, I freefly too. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

  15. You can get a list of dealers here, and many dealers are also instructors. At the very least, they'd be able to help you find one close. http://www.bird-man.com/html/usa.htm _Am [url]http://www.bird-man.com/html/usa.htm[/u __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

  19. If you look at my profile picture, you'll see me suffering from an evulsion fracture of the left ankle. I did this running. However, while trying to be gentle to my mostly healed left ankle, I gave myself an evulsion fracture to my RIGHT ankle, two weeks ago. I think maybe I should just flip that picture in photoshop... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  20. That's a hell of a lot of money for an outdated camera. I'd suggest going to www.dbuys.com, get something new - like that PC101 for $960 _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  21. The only question I have for you Bill, is given that bill - how do you quantify it? How do you tell if a big company (like GM) or even government is following the law? Doesn't it ultimately require some kind of "quota" (god, I hate that word) ? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  22. Anyone know an easy way to export .gif's or .jpg's of the speed chart from jump track? The best I've been able to do is screenshots... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  23. Ok, there was ONE study that was published in the New England Journal of Medicine that showed this in rats. The study has not been duplicated. Moreover, it's not simply Naproxin, it was all NSAIDS - non-steoridal anti-inflamatories, a categorization which includes Naproxin (Aleve), Ibuprofen (Advil), ASA (asprin), and acetaminophen (tylenol) - or pretty much every over the counter pain releiver. The list also includes perscription only NSAID's like Celebrex, Voltaren, Lodine, Nalfon, Indocin, Orudis, Oruvail, Toradol, Daypro, Relafen, Clinoril, Tolectin and Vioxx. So you're saying that based on one study that hasn't been replicated, we should ignore our doctors advice and not take ANY over the counter or perscription anti-inflamatories? My injuries seem to be healing quite well, even with the Naproxen. Thankfully to, because the Naproxen allows me to do physiotherapy, bike 10 miles, and jump from airplanes. Of course, we should all be discussing the effects and side-effects of any drugs that we take with our doctors... But I'm certainly not going to give up my freedom over one study. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
