  1. Ugh. My bad. Too much beer yesterday, and no coffee yet this morning. Ok, Shania had NO excuse for lip-synching. And that dress was friggin rediculous. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  2. I think, had they sung completely accapella, it would've been amazing. Too bad they stuck with the accompanyment.... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  3. Not in the slightest. Why should we Canadians be ashamed? Me, I'm proud, actually. She first sang that at a post-september 11 fund raiser, and pretty much the entire world was shocked at the power of the song when she sang it. I think she took that song to an entirely different level then I've ever heard it before. And no, I don't generally like Celine, nor do I generally like overly patriotic songs either. Notwithstanding, when she sang that song, I was captivated. What was disapointing was when she sang at half-time, she was clearly lip-synching. There was a time where she wandered into the crowd, her lips stopped moving but the song didn't... kinda funny. I will give her the benefit of the doubt, that after singing God Bless America like she did, her voice might need a rest. I did find it humous, that of the 4 performers at the superbowl, only the Dixie Chicks were US native born. Celine, Sting, and I think No Doubt is British, aren't they? I see that as an indication of either how global US culture is, or how they suck the culture out of other countries. There might be an interesting debate in there, somewhere. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

  6. you REALLY have to stop using that as an excuse. You've got newer and better gear then anybody i know. If you wanted one, you'd have one. For you, it's never been about money. Stop trying to tell us otherwise. _AM __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

    SQL Virus

Nope! I finished converting all our servers to Oracle just a few monthes ago... ALMOST Microsoft free.... :) _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  8. The nickname Spinetto came about 10 years ago when everyone was jumping rectangular canopies, and didn't understand the importance of body position. You should know this, jeff... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  9. To a point. I'm pretty sure, for example, that a pilot can not allow you to bring your own gun on board. Federal law trumps FAR's. More specifically, what the TSA THINKS is federal law trumps the FAR's. Welcome to the new reality. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  10. Sure. I am entirely unprepared for nuclear war. I am entirely unprepared for a natural disaster to wipe out Chicago. The list of scenarios that I am entirely unprepared for is endless. I'm do not prepare for those events simply for the reason that I do not forsee them happening anytime soon. To spend my life preparing for those rare occaisions that these things things actually DO happen, seems a rather depressing way of living. Would you have me build a nuclear bombshelter in my backyard, too? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  11. Didn't see it, but no. That would be something else. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  12. Not only that, but mocking and discouraing those who do choose to be safer does not seem wise. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  13. Fortunately, I finished replacing all our SQL Servers with Oracle just a few monthes ago, and am now looking at going Postgres. I've had a workless weekend. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  14. Just out of curiosity, and apologies for the tangent... but do you consider Hiroshima a method of avoiding unnecesary casualties...? What about Nagasaki? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  15. Well, not really. This worm (not a virus, a worm. they're different) targets copies of Microsoft SQL Server. SQL Server is a database system, comparable to Oracle. It is frequently used to manage business back office systems, and also plays a critical roles in complex business websites. It is both popular in both Europe and the US. While the attack last night tended to be centered in the US, it's only a matter of time before it spreads to Europe. It doesn't target home users, it doesn't 'infect' home users. This is one of the rare cases where home users don't need to worry about it - except that some of their favorite websites might be innaccesible. Interestingly, one of the largest installs of SQL Server is... Microsoft! The first casualty of the attack was the XP registration system, people (yeah, even in europe) trying to install new versions of XP found that they couldn't register it. XP will not work without registration. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

  18. How many of these were tightly spun - to the point that your risers were part of the twists...? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  19. I know four people who've sold their cobalts within monthes of getting it. I don't know anyone who's done this with their Stileto. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  20. It appears they are, it's already on their website. http://www.aerodyne-int.com/sport/default.asp Click 'products', then check out their new canopies and their new container. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  21. There's a ton of information there. 4 new canopies, and a new container. The descriptions are very MarketingSpeak(tm), so it's tough to figure out what they actually are... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  22. The USPA has no such rule, nor do I ever imagine them making one. Most instructor have that as a personal rule. Most DZ's do not have it as an 'official' rule. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  23. A lot of the closing pin necklaces, like the ones Pammi makes, are really quite weak around the clasp, and would easily break if they got snagged. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  24. How about a website...? http://www.pia.com/skydance/accessor.htm _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
  25. It's important that anything you put around your neck be able to break relatively easily. Necklaces can come out from underneath shirts in freefall, and could conceivably get hooked up with a riser on deployment. It wouldn't be that inconceivable, I've gotten hit in the nose with a riser, risers DO get into weird places. People who wear packing tools around their necks, are asking for trouble, I think. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
