Oh, please. Pinkie, you're doing FABULOUSLY well in there. It's just takes time, any way you look at it. I'll second the league recommendation, though. I usually supplement league with my own time on the weekend and it seems to be a pretty good combination. TPM Sister #102

In the last couple of years, I felt like it would have been kinder to have the Pens playing college teams. It was just ugly. I love those guys, but still . . . there's no way around it. They SUCKED. I still get excited every time I see them win a game! TPM Sister #102

WooooHOOOOOO!!!!!! Good for him! I love seeing the Pens having a good season so far. This is just a nice cherry on top. Pittsburgh is long overdue for something to REALLY celebrate. Well, okay, it's early in the season and they only have, what, 12 points?, but almost ANYTHING that's not at the bottom of their division is a good season. TPM Sister #102

College Entrance Essay: Skydiving?

I would LOVE to see the attorneys in my firm jump, but I think they're whuffos. They give me "the look" when anything related to skydiving comes up, so now I just mostly shut my mouth. Maybe I need you to organize an outing! After all, who wouldn't want to push a bunch of lawyers out of a plane? TPM Sister #102

Is it wrong to give forgiveness to those who kill your children?

Forgiveness is a gift--both to yourself and to the lady involved. I commend you for recognizing that your response in this situation is a choice and that how you decide to move forward will have a lot to do with how you heal. It doesn't sound like a situation in which punishment will serve a higher purpose other than retribution. I can certainly understand why your family would feel tremendous anger along with their grief, but your description does make it sound like a tragic accident rather than a situation with a flippant driver who was at fault. From my perspective, we could all use a little more leniency in the small things, as well as the big ones such as this. Whatever happens next, I wish you and your family the best, and pray that you'll have a tremendous amount of support surrounding you--not just now, but in the months and years ahead. It's wind tunnel night. The transmission light in the car didn't mean that my transmission died. (WOOOHOOOO!!! That would've been the end of the wind tunnel for SURE.) We had cookies at lunch. My office finally warmed up. We had a monthly meeting and it lasted less than 30 minutes! TPM Sister #102

I LOVE hockey! Where's Shell?? That's another person with the right priorities around here. . . . I'm in Avalanche country and I do like them, but I actually get more excited about a lot of the Eastern Conference teams. But, Bobbi, I feel your pain about the South and hockey. I lived in Atlanta for three years and the locals just didn't seem to quite know what to do with the sport. I've been away for a while, though, so maybe it's better now. TPM Sister #102 -
My porch light isn't motion sensitive, but it is light sensitive, so it's supposed to come on when it starts to get dark and then go off again in the morning. This is an excellent plan and a very nice feature, but considering that the bulb has been burned out all summer, it is entirely meaningless. TPM Sister #102
