  1. What about when it escapes from the helmet in the wind tunnel? Arrrrggghhhh! There is no rat's nest quite like a 120 mph rat's nest. I have a friend who has started stuffing her hair in a swimming cap under the helmet because she was going bald trying to yank out all the knots. TPM Sister #102
  2. Jewels

    Proud Uncle!!

I think that's fantastic! Congrats to both of you. You SHOULD be proud.
  3. They're adorable! There's always something like "Java," but that only helps with one of them. What sweeties! TPM Sister #102
  4. I was gonna say oh look, a hat, pair of gloves, and maybe some slippers. Walt don't you know DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS!!! Well, he DOES have four of them. You can get a lot more apparel out of a whole family.... TPM Sister #102
  5. Oh lord, not you too....come back from the dark side Jewels, let's talk about hockey again to get your mind off it! HOCKEY! Yeah, okay, I can go there. And it works just as well--they'd probably be great little puck handlers, but they'd be just as likely to run off with the biscuit and that would be that. TPM Sister #102
  6. Maybe a thread about raccoons zits? Walt They have pretty good dexterity. I'll bet they could pop their own zits. TPM Sister #102
  7. They really are malevolent little bastards. I have no illusions about that. They just look so cute, though! Walt LOL--I know; there's just something irrestible about them. I couldn't help it--I named ours. They were Marauder, Sticky Fingers and Lefty. I think the electric encounter kind of scared them off, though. TPM Sister #102
  8. They are adorable--until they eat through the siding on your house and chew through the electrical wires, leading to interesting-but-dangerous power surges. For the record, it's damage caused by "vermin" and the insurance company won't cover that. *Sigh.* Too bad. They really are precious! (That sounded so negative! I'm just bitter about MY close encounter with them. I actually loved your pics!) TPM Sister #102
  9. A long interview, complete with lunch, is a very good sign! You'll be terrific, I'm sure. What's their practice area? Whatever you can do to express the fact that this is your chosen area of law should also be helpful, because it's an interview and EVERYONE is going to swear that that's what they want to do. Sincerity goes a long way. If you can tie in a relevant class that you particularly enjoyed or any other activities to show that you're really interested in their field would be helpful. Wish I knew some people in TN. I can't help with law firms there, but I do have some friends in Atlanta. If you ever decide to go a little further south, I can try to help expand your network in that direction! Julie TPM Sister #102
  10. I have SO been there, but don't worry. You want this to be truly right and not just an offer. My first job out of law school was with a firm that gave me an offer I wasn't crazy about, and I took it just to get a foot in the door. I did get experience, but I didn't enjoy much of my time there. Is it a big firm or a small firm? Know their practice areas, in any event, and see what information you can get about the lawyers ahead of time--www.martindale.com. You'll probably meet with a panel of attorneys or be shuffled from office to office so that you meet with several--and you'll have pretty much the same conversation, over and over. I will say, much to my chagrin, that most attorneys are NOT good interviewers, so if you can bring good conversation to the table and simultaneously convey something about who you are and what you want to do, it should go well! GOOD LUCK! TPM Sister #102
  11. Rats. I was hoping you'd do something on door fear and I could be your guinea pig--as long as you weren't trying to INDUCE door fear. I pretty much have that covered. Sounds like you have some great suggestions! TPM Sister #102
  12. LOL--It's just so nice to meet someone with the right set of priorities and such a healthy outlook!
  13. GO OILERS! That's a good beginning! The Avs did their job against Dallas last night, too. All in all, a good night on the ice. TPM Sister #102
  14. Yeah, unfortunately, they keep acquiring players I like. It's just that a hockey fan has to have principles. TPM Sister #102
  15. The answer to this, of course, is to watch the game WITH him. TPM Sister #102
  16. I'd say watch my team 'cause they don't stink but I guess it depends on what games are televised in your neck of the woods! Watch the Blackhawk games ... they ARE playing another team, ya know! 'Shell In fairness, the Oilers ARE good. They were close enough to the Cup to almost taste the champagne in it last year. But, in all good conscience, I cannot recommend watching anything involving Detroit, whether they are good or not. PLUS, you have the added bonus of not having octopi thrown on the ice. The only things I want to see down there are HATS. TPM Sister #102
  17. Ah, sweet Mario! You just like the hot Canadians! Well, the "hot Canadian" part certainly doesn't hurt! The accompanying wife is a shame, but then, any couple that can survive professional sports is probably really meant to be together. TPM Sister #102
  18. QuoteQuote Gretzky ... AKA "The Great One"! Quote I'm still a fan of #66. The name says it all. TPM Sister #102
  19. LOL--I know. It's okay if you don't connect. I don't get football, and I've tried. Watch the play. Watch the replay. Watch the replay with more commentary. Wait for the commercial. Watch the next play. Repeat (for what seems like 12 hours). But hockey--it speaks to my heart. TPM Sister #102
  20. You have Ville! I still miss him. Love for the game--it's a beautiful thing! *Sniff, sniff!* TPM Sister #102
  21. Is Chilly Beach on CBC? That would be a fine addition to the fall line-up! TPM Sister #102
  22. Oh, you and I are going to get along just fine. I have no problem with the Devils, really, but the Flyers. . . . And the Rangers used to have a lot of the old Pens players that I really loved. I don't know who is in their line-up this year, though. TPM Sister #102
  23. Yep ... been a fan since they started up here with some young upstart named Wayne ... LOL--yeah, I guess rookies like that will do if you can't come up with someone good. TPM Sister #102
  24. Wait--how is it that you're a Nashville fan? Not that it matters where you are. . . . I'm in Colorado and most of my favorite teams are in the Eastern Conference. TPM Sister #102
  25. I am soooo envious! It used to be that way here, but the Avs have fallen apart and now it's a lot easier to get tickets. (I guess that's the up-side. It's now easier to see all the teams I love.) Of course, the falling apart thing could have something to do with the fact that we let our first, second and third lines go to other teams. I think we're recruiting from the mini-mites now. TPM Sister #102
