  1. I second that. Pictures of the FF2 are here. The camera box is built into the helmet so all hardware is internal...just smooth box on the exterior... Miami
  2. You can strike the hung riser from behind on the 3 ring assembly to try to help it release...sometimes the webbing around the 3 rings, especially if not maintained properly, can become stiff and not allow them to release. Using a knife is a possibility, but it's not an easy task, and you don't want to spend the rest of your life trying to cut lines while you should be finishing your emergency procedures. Talk with your instructors, get their input, and take any information you get from dz.com with a grain of salt...the people here have widely varying degrees of experience and/or expertise and do not know you or your specific situations nearly as well as your instructors should. Hope this helps... Miami

    FF2

The FF2 is hands down the best side mount camera helmet I have ever had the please of using. It is light, well balanced, comfy, and you don't have to worry about all those snag points. With the camera box integrated into the helmet there is very little you have to do to get it ready to jump, and there is no hassle of having to drill on your helmet to get a box on there. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in getting a side mount camera helmet. Miami

Mamba if you don't wear glasses...Havok if you do. Hope this helps... Miami
  5. It would be an area like this I would be afraid of running into trouble. I'm not educated enough as a photographer to be able to look at a situation and pick the right aperture for it, and hell, right now I only have a vague idea for using the right shutter speed. Guess that means it's time to start looking into going to photography school... The lens sounds pretty good and that price is a hell of a lot better than anything else I've seen. Thanks for the info! Miami
  6. I'm quite happy with a 3/1 wingloading (2.9 if I'm not doing video)...landing at 5300' is pretty sporty, but it was perfect at sea level. Not sure if that is optimal but it sure is fun! Hope this helps... Miami
  7. As a matter of fact, I am. And I give a nice discount on all of their helmets. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Hope this helps... Miami
  8. When I get my Rebel XT I will be drooling over this until I save up enough cash. The weight/size is not much more than the Sigma 15mm, it's a USM, and gives a little more versatility than a fixed lens. Anyone know if that logic is flawed? Hope this helps... Miami
  9. Interesting...I had played with the secondary toggles (i.e. doing practice flares with them up high to see if they would work alone) and it didn't seem like they were effective at all by themselves. Good to know that could be an option should the situation arise... Miami
  10. Did you try to fly/flare with the rears? That could have been a possibility but I would only consider something like that if I had a little passenger on my chest. If you've ever tried to flare with the secondaries only you'll find they don't do much by themselves... Hope this helps... Miami
  11. Isn't it...I love mine as well. I cut my strap off just cause I'll never need it...it looks good how you have it routed, as long as it's not putting too much bulk under the padding. You can change the angle your camera is shooting a bit...at first mine was just like yours but I wanted it to shoot a little more downward, and in doing so I now have about a half a cm of lens extending (still no chance of snagging though) in front of the box. The socket in the camera is probably not deep enough for the screw. You can get a pretty easy fix for this by getting a small washer on the underside of the thumb screw. Good to hear you like your FF2...I like mine so much I started selling them and everyone who has gotten one has been super happy with it. Hope this helps... Miami
  12. Well, roughly 400...it will keep 6.5 hours of information (max of 15 minutes per jump, and that's freefall and canopy time) so if you do a lot of low H&P's it will hold a lot more, do a lot of birdman jumps or high pulls it will hold less. Hope this helps... Miami
  13. Thats odd, they should store detailed information for the last 200 jumps...how old is your unit? Miami
  14. Not sure what retail is yet...guessing around $300. If that is correct I'm willing to bet it will be available here in the classifieds for less... But to answer your question...yes, I would definitely pay $300 for it. Miami
  15. I'm not very familiar with the neptune so I'm not sure if it does any of these functions or not, but some of the functions the Altitrack has that I really like are: - Analog face (can't stand digital readouts) - Student simulation mode for those aff dirt dives - Replays previous jumps from exit to landing - Tracks information during the canopy decent (finally I'll be able to see what my decent rate is on my hook!) Like I said, maybe the neptune does some of this, but I have not had much experience with it. I've jumped one a couple of times but just can't get over the digital readout and it was hard to see at some angles. On a good note though they do have some kick ass customer service...my glow face galaxy has served me very well over the years, but it will be replaced with an Altitrack when they are released. Hope this helps... Miami
  16. Oh you are so on! I'll bring my spectre up this weekend...we can both do a h&p and run the course. Miami
  17. Hmm...your tune was a little different when you jumped it... Oh, it's already been broughten, Biotch!!!!! Miami
  18. ...cough...bullshit....cough Haha, you panzy...you never could do more than a 90 with that thing! Miami
  19. You mean one of these? Hope this helps... Miami
  20. That is true...they do have great customer service, but it's really frustrating having something not work like it should. I've been jumping with a pro-track just about since the day it was introduced and the only problems I ever had with it were problems I caused (dropping it, stepping on it, etc.), and every time it was replaced for free with no questions asked. And I see no reason not to expect the same from the new line L&B has coming out soon. Hope this helps... Miami
  21. Same that I have seen...nearly all of the neptunes I have seen have had problems of some sort. And I don't like the digital read out for an altimeter...much prefer the good ol' analog... Hope this helps... Edit added in italics Miami
  22. The bulletin is for Racers with single strand adjustable main lift webs. Not sure if they can be modified...doesn't say they can in the bulletin though. Just get a new Racer and there is no concern. Hope this helps... Miami
  23. Hehe, yep...I was unstable and that was the only grip they could catch me on...fortunately I still passed... Miami
  24. Couple more from today...this stuff just never gets old for me... Miami
