  1. Have not seen one anywhere, actually. Just as a note there are other options along those lines, such as the Kryten from 2KComposites. PM me if you have questions about it. Miami
  2. I prefer without...you lose some flexibility as far as what you can do if you have booties on. I'm no 4-way video guru but I filmed all of my teams jumps at nationals, collegiate nationals, and CSL's with a "freefly" style camera suit and had zero video busts throughout (and pretty nice looking video, too!). I also use the same suit for backflying while filming tandems. Having booties on a camera suit will not do anything noticeable to get you up the hill any further, maneuver over your rw group any better, and in general going to just be more of a pita than they are worth. Hope that helps... Miami
  3. That is a bad analogy...the problem is not a defective part of the product, it is that the entire product is a lemon. Charging for the replacement of that lemon, even at a discount, does not seem like "above and beyond" to me. Their customer is happy with it though, so no big deal right? Miami
  4. Well they should. I agree with Wuffo (to a point) on this. I don't really see it as going above and beyond for pd to just give a discount on a new canopy. If told stories are true, it appears (even after a reline) they made a bad canopy...doing something of note that would warrant public praise would be replacing the canopy free of charge. Anyway, that's just my opinion. That's awesome that they made their customer happy. Miami
  5. I had to go back and look at my past posts, surprisingly found that I do it a lot! Now I'm all self-conscious about it... Miami
  6. That seems abnormal...it could be the case that you just got a bad one. Unless you are trying to film malfunction videos are you really missing that much by losing focus for a second during opening shock? Miami
  7. Correct. It seems, from what I've seen anyway, that the loss of focus happens more on the newer cameras like the hc-21, -42, pc-109, and -1000. That's just my personal experience though. Hope that helps... Miami
  8. Probably because it can, like many cameras I've seen, lose focus during opening shock (some only during hard openings) for a brief second. The "floating iris" or "3-chip" problem is a very distracting flutter that happens during all of freefall. It was common with the sony trv-900 and 950 3 chip mini dv cameras, and made the freefall footage pretty much useless. Hope that helps... Miami
  9. Read this, that should help. In short the pc-1000 is fine for skydiving. Miami
  10. Hmm...that would be a problem...gotta be able to video chat with my hunny when I'm on the road! On a side note, anyone who is actually using their exceedingly hot MacBook on their lap (or any laptop really), get an iLap. CompUSA had it cheaper then the online store and it is awesome! It keeps the hotness off of your lap and the cushion makes it super comfy for typing and trackpadding. Plus it's very stable in your lap and the computer doesn't move on the surface. Very well thought out piece of equipment! Miami

    Boobies Movies

Some of my favorites that haven't been mentioned: Uma Thurman in Dangerous Liaisons Katie Holmes in The Gift Anne Hathaway in Havoc The "charmed ones": Rose McGowan in Doom Generation Alyssa Milano in Embrace of the Vampire Holly Marie Combs in A Reason to Believe And of course Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Jason Leigh in FTARH Those are the only ones I could remember at the moment... 12. Ahh, I see. Should probably stick with the linksys I already have then and just update the firmware. When I went to that url I didn't understand what it needed...expect a PM coming your way soon. The .mac account definitely depends on the person who is going to use it. I had been researching setting up a website for a while now, and .mac will let me do it for half the price. Miami
  13. I just bought one when we got my wife's computer...they gave us a $30 discount on it because we got it with the computer. I have not installed it yet, still running on the trial .mac offer. I think it's worth it just for the fact that you can use it to publish a website and it covers the domain name (although it'll be http://web.mac.com/username/iWeb/sitename instead of just your site name) and the hosting. That alone would cost more to do outside of .mac. There are some other cool features...you should be able to sign up for the trial period to check it out, I think they are worth it though. Hope this helps... Miami
  14. That's cool...although I didn't know what to do once I was there... That would explain a lot about the video chat...I've been unable to connect with anyone else except for text chat. Maybe I will go with the airport extreme...then I could off my modem and wireless router on ebay and have it consolidated to one unit that is easy to use with macs...must do more research! Miami
  15. That's the router I'm using now, but every time it goes down I have to use a pc instead of a mac to get it back up again...big pain in the ass so I want one that is familier with macs. The express seemed to be the best bet, my home network is down right tiny (furthest we will evey be is about 30 feet away from it). I thought the extreme was the same as the express, just with the modem built in? I already have a decent cable modem so don't need another... Miami
  16. We got wireless after I got my MacBook Pro...it had to be setup with the wife's pc (linksys), but the MacBook picked it up immediately. Last night after we got home from the Apple store (Wife had Apple envy pretty bad...made me go buy her an iBook), her's picked up the wireless the moment it had booted...she was convinced I had done something to make it work while she wasn't looking! My MBP also gets extremely hot, so that seems pretty normal. I'm looking at getting an iLap to make sure it doesn't overheat from my lap. Also going to get Airport Express Base Station for our wireless since we are now entirely an Apple household. Miami
  17. How about putting a quick release on the shark fin itself for the still? Then you don't have to worry about the thumbscrew. Miami
  18. So is the hc90 the camera you went with? Miami
  19. That is not the floating iris problem, like the trv900 and trv950 had. The floating iris problem causes a jittery image and happens during all of the freefall. If you mean the focus (instead of the zoom) goes all the way out and back in during opening I've seen that happen to many cameras (my pc110 and trv17 both did it on occasion), usually on firmer openings. As far as I know there is no way to keep it from doing that. Miami
  20. It can be a wear point, but it's not the most common spot. I've seen a handful of broken lines that broke at the connector link. I think what they are implying is the point that the slider will not stop at the links and vibrate against the lines there, creating extra wear. With soft links it passes right on by, not damaging either the slider, the lines, or the soft links. Miami
  21. Really you would be happy with any of them as they are all very nice cameras. I would say go with the HC1 as it already fits all the accesories you have, as long as you have a good platform to mount it on. What price did you find it for and where? Miami
  22. We actually didn't use the cradles as much...we were just using the cameras for shooting aff and coach jumps from the instructors pov, then using them as debrief tools, so not using them to play the tapes for download and editing via firewire, just plugging the usb cables from camera to tv. I could see it being a little bit of a pita for firewire, but not so bad that it would hurt your workflow for editing tandem videos. Miami
  23. It's really not that bad. The pc-1000 is actually a very nice camera, if I did like the vertical format cameras it would be the one I went with. The shorter battery life is barely noticeable, we were able to get by just fine with our 6 pc-1000's with just one spare batt a piece. Miami
  24. I had 6 pc1000's that were shared by about 15 instructors for pov aff video...none of them ever had any of the 3 chip problems associated with the trv-900 and 950. Did you see a pc-1000 that had a floating iris problem? If money were not an issue I would say go with the HD video...it is where the technology is going and I'm kinda partial to top mounts for getting professional quality video (settle down folks, I'm not saying you can't get it with side mounted video, just that I'm partial to top mounted). edit for omitted word Miami

    eBay

I sold my truck on eBay...went smooth as could be. The buyer lived in Texas, I was in Colorado. He flew up (he worked for an airline so flew for free) to New Mexico, I drove down to meet him with the wife following me, he checked it out, gave me pre agreed on cash for my drive, and drove away. All the bank stuff was handled before hand so I just had to give him the keys and off he went. On another note, what are you asking for your Duc? Miami
