Do you leave your neoprene folded back from the lens like that when you jump? Mine goes right up to the edge of the lens, although I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not. Miami

I've heard jumping with the lens (in my case the entire camera) wrapped in neoprene helps eliminate the shock of cold air on the lens...seems to work fine, but I didn't really have problems beforehand either. Any validity to that, that you know of? Miami

Once you get the card signed off and stamped it (the card) becomes your A-license. The only reason to send the $20 in to USPA is if you want a number to go with it. You do not need this number for anything though, and I suggest to all of my students to wait until they satisfy the B-license requirements to send in for a license. Hope this helps... Miami

clicky - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=288483&is=REG&addedTroughType=search The plate that mounts to the camera certainly looks like it fits the bill, but what is the deal with the base plate it locks into? Doesn't look very compatible with camera mounting onto helmets for freefall...can you post a picture of how yours is setup? Miami

I agree with Andy. I know of no quick release that leaves access to the tape door (bottom loading) while it is attached to the camera. Hope this helps... Miami

Actually, that's not anywhere near the truth of their stint on the show. At least, not for Michelle Rodriguez. Read this. Yadda, yadda, yadda - people will say whatever protects them. She and the producers say that her stint on the show was to be limited and that may be true, but I think she was gotten rid of sonner than planned along with her co-hort because of their law troubles. Just my opinion.

How much time did he say you had from 1000' till ground with a fully loaded 182? And what is your minimum bail out alt in an a/c emergency? Miami

Tonight's episode was pretty good...preview for next week looks REALLY good! Miami

If you don't take your rig your chance of not jumping is guarenteed. Miami

Zebra F-301...great pen. Miami

2K is expecting to be back on schedule by the end of this month, so you should be getting your helmet a bit closer to the 8 week point than some of the recent orders. Miami

About $12.5K. Miami

How many traffic tickets do you have over the last 5 or 6 years?
Miami replied to lawrocket's topic in The Bonfire
Been pulled over about 30-35 times, all of them for speeding, about 15 of them ended up in tickets. Being military has gotten me out of them the majority of the time. Doing good now though, haven't been pulled over in almost a year.[knock on wood] edit - this is over the past 11 years or so Miami -
2 cats, Rigs (a ragdoll) and Racer (a siamese). Miami

Man my nuts are aching...definitely going to take it easy this weekend, will only even think of jumping if everything feels 100% down there. Miami

Bringing back up an older thread... Anyone else have any interesting stories about their vasectomy? I just got snipped about an hour ago, now I'm laying on the couch with frozen peas on my nuts, hoping they don't swell too bad and that I'll be able to jump this weekend. Miami

Never doubted you would get there, congrats. Miami

1.1.1 Speaking of rumors...might we be seeing the replacement to the iBook Tuesday? Miami

Each persons capability is different. Five jumps does not sound out of the ordinary, as long as you are not continuing to push yourself when you are beginning to feel fatigued. I usually limit my students to 3 jumps per day while they are on AFF/AFP (the first 7-8 levels/categories), but if they are doing well and appear to be positive, hydrated, and not overly fatigued I'll let them do a fourth, if they want to. Hope this helps... Miami

The FFX was discontinued for a period of time, but it is now available once again. That really is the biggest difference. Otherwise they are nearly identical. Both are incredible helmets. If you decide to get one be sure to order through a dealer...you'll probably be able to get a nice discount! Also if you have more specific questions feel free to PM me. Miami

Re-read MB38's post for detailed instructions on how to resize...you're using the crop to try to resize, which is not the right way to do it. Miami

I am rated in and jump all three, and like the Sigma best. The Strong comes in at #2 for me out of the systems you listed. If I were investing in my own tandem gear I would get a Racer...the difference in comfort and weight are insane, so much more like a sport rig. Only a hand full of jumps on the Racer system but the differences are plainly felt from the first jump. Miami

Just echoing what Brook (MB38) said...iPhoto is very easy to use and sounds like it will take care of what you need to do. I originally thought I was going to need additional software until I started using iPhoto, now it's all I need. I will have to buy Photoshop CS for school next semester, but if it were not required I wouldn't be getting it. Miami

You obviously did not read the rest of the thread. Miami

The new chin cups from 2K are 40 GBP, which is about $75 US. As a reference the chin cups from Cookie are about $92 US. Shipping is the kicker for either one, however I am checking into ordering a batch of chin cups from 2K to reduce the shipping cost for those of us in the US. Visit my website, linked below, for my email if you want more info. edit - oops, posted price of the old chin cup, fixed now! Miami
