No idea...it's a picture of her at an event to benefit tsunami victims though and she looks fine to me. Miami

My wife pointed out to me in the June 5, 2006 issue of people magazine a picture of a model named Petra Nemcova who is wearing a closing pin necklace (pg 100, lower right). Anyone know if she is a jumper? Miami

If humidity is your only concern a neoprene case would work well for you. It would not provide much protection from bums and bangs, but it will keep moisture out better than a box. Miami

I will soon, I promise! Miami

That one is my favorite as well...but I'm munching on some apple cinnamon right now. I haven't found it yet so I may have to order it online, but I really want to try the Vanilla Almond Crunch cereal. Miami

www.bearnaked.com Who else eats it? What's your favorite flavor? I've only had a few types of the granola so far and it's friggin great, would really like to try the rest of their line. Miami

The first season was much better...I'll watch next season just cause I'm already sucked into the story, but if they streatch it out to a 4th season...I don't know. Miami

I felt the same...was hoping for an explanation of the numbers, something more definitive than "I may have crashed your plane", more of what happened with the event when the key was turned, and not hanging so much with the 3 left with the others. Oh well. At least now we know Henry really did enter the numbers. Miami

Paragear, 8th from the bottom. Works fine for me. Hope this helps... Miami -
Same for me out of the 182, although I haven't done a tandem out of a 182 for a couple years now. Out of otters I had been doing poised, but for the past 6 months I've been jumping PACs all the time and I have found I am too tall to kneel or crouch in the door, so the student and I sit in the door and hop out to a back layout. When I ever get back to otters I plan on doing the same...in my opinion it is a much nicer exit and is just as safe. Miami

So does the quality of the HD footage change at all during the editing process on the MBP, or is it just not adequate to view on the screen of the MBP? Something just hooking up a 30" cinema would fix? Miami

I used to jump a suit almost identical to that in the summer at Moss Point, MS. Loved it, and it took very little to get used to the lack of drag on the legs. Miami

I'm a little confused by "semi-normal" as well...what do you mean by that? I'm kind of taking it to mean something other than belly into the relative wind...just out stable and drogue out. If I'm following correctly I think it depends a lot on what the TI's experience was before they got their rating. It seems like it would be a case by case scenario, depends mostly on the TI's level of experience and comfort. Scary to who? If it's the DZO or manager they are scaring then I would guess it would only be one before someone says something. If it is a video guy or another tandem instructor getting scared I guess it would depend on the situation, but should probably be brought up to the DZO to handle. I've on rare occasions shown some scary footage of a tandem (thrown drogue on back, lack of control, etc.) to the DZO or manager just so they would have a heads up on how their staff is performing...but I don't feel it is my place to lecture the TI on how scary they are. This (4th from the bottom) works well and it keeps you from reinventing the wheel. Miami

The pc-1000 does not have the "3-chip problem"...this post has some good discussion on it. Hope that helps! Miami -
Walker...yea, he has some prior experience...breezed through his cat d-1 today before the weather rolled in. Come on down anytime...I swear I'll be up to Orange again sometime, I had a lot of fun the weekend I did get to spend out there! Miami

That would certainly spice up the entertainment level a bit... Miami

I probably didn't notice much that happened Saturday...was teaching the FJC most of the day, didn't get to get out and in the air till 2 or 3 in the afternoon... Miami

Requst for Beginner video camera advice

I sent a PM as well...but in case any lurkers are looking for similar info... I feel the FF2 is perfect for your situation...you are headed in the right direction with that. As for cameras...for used (found on eBay) I really like the pc110, 120, and 330. If you want to buy a new one I really like the pc1000, and you would be able to get it from B&H and stay at your budget. If you went the used route you could probably put an entire video only system together for around $1000. Hope that helps, and if you need more info feel free to contact me! Miami -
Thanks again for the reply...3/4" seems pretty tall! I haven't had a strobo for a while so can't remember how high they were, but I know Schumacher's Quick Shoe is only 3/8" tall. That was going to be my next question...how easy it is to access the base to release the top plate. Even with the height it seems a feasible option for someone who must access their tape after every jump and does not want to use a dbox. Miami
-
So everything did feel 100%...made five jumps yesterday (including one tandem) after teaching the FJC, and one more today. Everything is good, no swelling and no pain. Miami
-
Thanks for the explanation! How much height does that add to the camera? And how wide is the base? Miami

That makes two of you who were down there with us yesterday and I didn't even know. It makes it really hard to notice we have visiting Orange jumpers if you guys aren't running around naked, you know... Glad you had fun...and I wish Orange were closer so I could visit up there more often! Miami
