  1. 3 out of 4300. First was jump #1601, my solo jump on a tandem rig to get my rating and I had a tension knot. Second was a tension knot again on a tandem rig, this time with a passenger, at about 3200 jumps. Third was a line over on my Xaos at around 3600 jumps. Now that was fun one! Miami
  2. Depends on whether it's steel tip or soft tip. No clue what the soft tip measurements are, steel tip are as follows: Center of the bull should be 5'8" from the floor. Stab a dart in the center, tie a string to it, and measure the height with that. The front edge of the throwing line should be 7'9 & 1/4" from the face of the board. Use that string that's hanging from your dart (make sure it's pushed up to the board) as a guide to where the face of the board is in relation to the floor. For lighting either at least two spotlight like direct light sources that are plenty out of the way so those people who really arc their darts up high don't hit them, or a couple of fluorescent bulbs lengthwise across the board but a couple feet out from the board work really well. You should also put a backboard up to keep from putting a bunch of holes in your wall from stray darts, and a white erase board mounted somewhere nearby is nice, too. Hope this helps... Miami
  3. When I was jumping a .42 on my video I found a 24mm lens to be the best match, that would equate more to a 15mm for a 350D. Hope that helps... Miami
  4. So did I. Yep...it was still being certified when I was there, but they did load it with weight one time to see how it would climb. I can't remember exactly what weight they put in it but it was something of the neighborhood of equivalent to 22 or 23 jumpers and it got to alt (14.5k I think) in 10 minutes. Miami
  5. Hey Lisa! It is...was glad I could help. You guys were a lot of fun, wish we could have hung out and partied longer! Speaking of which we probably would have been better off had we stayed there longer...we broke our rental the next day heading down to Elsinore...did get down there till just before the sunset load! Miami
  6. And your point is.... Miami
  7. If I remember correctly, single engine otters (at least ones not on floats!) are tail draggers. This could make it more difficult to find qualified pilots. I remember the single engine otter they had in Dallas could fly a full load to alt in an obscene period of time... Miami
  8. Ah, cool...learn something new every day. Thanks for the info. And I agree with Tom, it is a pita. I've been an S&TA for 3 different dz's and two different regions. A fair amount of extra responsibility but no authority. Not exactly fun, but it is necessary. Miami
  9. I priced a Dell configured exactly like my 2 gig MacBook Pro and the dell was $300 more. Miami
  10. I'm not sure if that is an actual "requirement" or not as there is nothing in writing afaik. I do doubt, however, that you would easily find a RD willing to appoint someone who is not (or was not) an I of some sort. Miami
  11. Best bet is probably to talk to your dzo...they can let your regional director know they need a new one and recommend you for it, then the RD can appoint you if he feels you are capable for the job. Miami
  12. I guess you could, but they (the RD) will usually only appoint a new one when they feel there is a need for one at a particular dz. Miami
  13. There are no requirements, regional directors make judgment calls as to who they feel is appropriate for the job and appoint that person. Miami
  14. But does it have that pesky "3-chip" problem? Flea...Sony cameras are the norm for freefall video. Stay away from hard drive or dvd cameras...you want one that is mini-dv or, if you have the cash, hdv. B&H has some of the most recent models, or you can just use the search option here to get an idea of popular models, then find them cheap on eBay! Hope that helps... Miami
  15. Is it a 5 cell swift or a swift plus? Has the bruise lite been treated with anything to lower porosity? What's the DOM of the container? That setup sounds nearly exactly like my first rig. Miami
  16. It is a two ring cutaway system, much like your three ring system on your main canopy. When you pull the cutaway handle the rings release and the helmet is free from your head. It does a pretty good job of staying put, but I have had a couple customers say that it does touch their neck when they look down, but it does not flop around. The cutaway handle stays in your hand, the chin cup stays attached to the helmet via the ratchet on the left side I have not heard of anyone having to use it yet, but the tests I have done with it on the ground have proved very successful, no problems at all with the release. If you visit my web page, linked below, there is a photo of the cutaway system (on the 2k page under accessories). It may be kind of hard to see but it is attached with industrial velcro on the bottom side of the chin cup. Hope this helps... Miami
  17. From what I've researched on grey market products that is not necessarily true. In most cases it has nothing to do with manufacturing at all, it has to do with importing. If a camera gets imported by Sony into the US then it is a USA version, and covered under warrantee by Sony. If it gets imported via other means then it is not covered by Sony. The cameras are the same, just how they got over here is different. B&H often sells both versions, USA and import, of their products to give their customers the option of getting a cheaper, though not covered by warrantee through the manufacturer, product. Hope that helps... Miami
  18. 23k msl, no O2. Symptoms prior to exit: loss of color vision, slight euphoria, numb lips, tingling fingers and toes. Miami
  19. Here is the updated cutaway system used on the Azimuth. Miami
  20. The cutaway has been updated from the one displayed on their website...it is now internal. I'll try to post pics tonight if I can, my internet connection is a little sketchy while I'm on the road. Miami
  21. My webpage made with iWeb and published with .mac in linked below. Miami
  22. If you are figuring the msrp yes, that is a correct conversion...but I am pretty certain you can find a nice discount from any of the US dealers for 2K, you just have to look around a little. Miami
  23. Where did you run into problems? Miami
  24. I doubt it, as that would give our friend in the black and yellow a metal d-ring for a cutaway handle. Miami
  25. Naa...from the elongated mudflaps, the tapered d-ring reserve handle, the riser covers (both NOS type racers as well), the main pin protector flaps, the hip junctions, the chest strap hardware on the left instead of the right, even the little orange plastic hook knife on the left leg strap...plainly both racers.
