  1. Chris Gray, be on the lookout for a new bird from VA that joined the flock over the weekend at the Pepperell boogie. Lonnie did a flight on Sunday and rocked. I am pretty sure he will be down at Z-Hills the weekend of Flock 'n Dock so hopefully you will get to jump with him and see him around at your home DZ.
  2. If it was made of Titanium I think we would have a one legged friend now! You really do need to see the video....I hope it is posted somewhere. Funny shit. Not cool about having a borrowed smoke bracket get trashed with no compensation but funny nonetheless.
  3. Thanks for putting up the pics Dave! Very nice.
  4. "beak to beak".... love it. Didn't have to do that but a visiting doctor from Vermont helped adminster first aid. We did have a Lurch sighting in the afternoon today so we can confirm he is up and about. See you in the skies soon brother! We didn't get a 20 way today but got a couple awesone 14 or 15 ways including a beautiful gainer exit vertical formation that was beautiful. We all got 8 or 9 flocks in so all in all a great day! Hopefully tomorrow the weather will be good so we can jump with the dudes from Sister Hazel who will be doing tandems.
  5. After a shit day yesterday due to clouds we had an awesome day today. The CASA was flying all day and we got tons of flocks in. We also had quite a few first flights all of which went great. We should be doing 20 ways (or more) tomorrow so if you are within 100 miles of Pepperell get yer ass here tomorrow! Lurch might also be back from his second trip to the hospital in an ambulance. Trip #1 was after a cut-away and hard landing. Trip #2 was due to.....well I don't know what it was due to but he stopped chirping at the campfire tonight so we had to call 911 again. Hopefully the Pepperell Police and Fire department won't be as busy on Saturday!
  6. Evil indeed. I had no idea WTF you were talking about but a search on dz.com found the offending link to skydivingmovies.com: http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=4371 ...on the positive side I enjoyed the other 10 minutes of the video, especially the clips of the "ass docks". I started wingsuiting right after you posted this last year and hadn't seen it yet. Good stuff.
  7. Tony, you really gotta get 5 or 6 of these in the air and get a good pic of a "butterfly flock"....it would be a great Skydiving or Parachutist photo.
  8. Pink Mike is coming too? I knew that "Magenta Mike" was confirmed.....didn't know Pink Mike was going to join the festivities as well.
  9. ...and hot off the printing presses: free Flock-U T-Shirts for everyone who attends the boogie. Come on out and jump the CASA, hear Sister Hazel live on Sunday (along with 10 other bands Saturday and Sunday), and help put together some great flocks. This is a perfect warm-up for Flock 'n Dock. See you at the Birdhouse!
  10. Must be nice.... I needs to get me a job like that!
  11. The Ducks are not even in the minor leagues! They are a friggin' independent league. They get paid so little they probably have to pay to play I think Offerman is still pissed the Red Sox cut him 5 years ago....he just needed to take his anger out on someone!
  12. I wonder what the companies that make tandem rigs would think of this? Would they even allows it?
  13. This isn't a late April Fool's joke?
  14. From that thread: A bit of History: In 1972 shortly after the release of the first skydiving movie "Gypsy Moths" to the public, the stunt double for Burt Lancaster, Garth Taggart, was asked to do something with skydivers in his home town of Richmond, Indiana. Until then skydivers only gathered for competition at Confrence(Regions) meets or the Nationals held by USPA. Garth decided to have a gathering for fun, brought in some Twin Beeches and a DC 3. The Richmond Boys Club sponsered the ferry fees and the call went out to all the Drop Zones in the area. The turnout was phenomenal, lots of jumps and lots of just plain fun. In the 60's and 70's there was a cartoon character called the Boogie man best known for his phrase "Keep on Truckin' " Garth decided to borrow the name Boogie and became the first "Boogie man." The original Boogie turned into the Nationals at the end of the 70's. The sport was growing rapidly and had a bit of a "motorcycle gang" reputation. Skydivers were banned from the City of Richmond, In for several years, due to their excesses. In 1986 the Boogie was brought back to Richmond, and is going strong every Labor Day Weekend. The boogie is second only to the convention in size and number of jumps. Garth Taggart was home in 1998 for the Boogie and continued to jump and have fun. ...this was on rec.skydiving.
  15. Booked my tickets today....flying in with Justin on Friday morning, should be jumping by early afternoon
  16. CPI flock, thanks for a fun weekend. We all had a great time and are glad we came down. Hopefully next time we come "W" won't screw up plans for high altitude jumps......oh well, 17.5 was pretty fun anyway.
  17. Thanks for the heads up. Have the packers ready! Us birds from Bawston are lazy mother flockers and hate to pack. Make sure you order up some blue skies....
  18. Doing a July 4'th WS demo would be awesome.....If I was anywhere near you I would do it in a second. Unfortunately I am about 3,000 miles away "You get what you pay for"
  19. Well hot diggity-dog....I think we will have at least 4 or 5 of 'em that you can fly. I didn't know CPI had that many birds....I am stoked, should be a fun weekend. Thanks and see you then!
  20. Hey CPI Wingsuiters.....how many are there of ya'll? What time do things get cooking there on the weekend? I am driving from Boston and want to know what time to get there to be on the first load.
  21. I have a Magellan and love it. A few years ago I think the Garmin's were a piece of garbage but the newer ones seem much better so I think you can't go wrong with a Magellan, Garmin, or even a Tom-Tom which is a little cheaper.
  22. I would like to know why Sunpath's work week consists of 4 days. I can understand closing on the weekend but why close on Friday as well? If they added a few more production shifts then our waiting time would not be so excruciating. I too am waiting for a new Javelin Odyssey that I hoped to have in June. They will be closed the week of July 2'nd so that will probably add a week to delivery times as well
  23. Is the first or second weekend of Summerfest generally busier? Will either weekend be better for wingsuits? Nebelkopf, are you and Tony going to be there both weekends?
