  1. On the "products" page of the Bird-man website they have something listed called "Blade". Underneath the logo it says "Prepare. January 2007". There is no other info. What is the Blade? ...is it the next Skyflyer?
  2. Sweet....thanks for the update. I checked out Condor's website and it looks like their regular schedule in the summer to and from Orlando and Frankfurt is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The online quote for a regular (i.e. non charter) flight is about $750 roundtrip. On Expedia and Orbitz the quotes were about $1,100. It would be awesome if we could get the charter as it would be a fun trip! Thanks for the legwork in trying to make this happen.
  3. Wow.......I was Sports Illustrated's person of the year two years ago (Red Sox Nation)...now I am Time's person of the year as well. Awesome. I should quit while I am ahead and skydive full time!
  4. I just checked a bunch of the local hotels and they all still have plenty of availability. Microtel, Best Western, and Quality Inn can all be booked online. Skydive City's website lists about 12 hotels. Here are some of the numbers. Make a reservation now....no excuses that there was no place to stay! Best Western (813) 782-5527 Crystal Sprngs Mtr Inn (813) 782-1214 Microtel (813) 783-2211 Happy Hill Motel (813) 782-4131 Quality Inn & Suites (813) 762-2000 Living Waters Retreat 877-LW-RETREAT Clyde's Cottages (813) 782-1613 Siesta Motel (813) 779-9472 Twilite Motel (813)788-2695 Masters Economy Inn (813) 973-0155
  5. Maybe mornings can be skills and smaller groups and afternoons can be big-ways. I am coming for the big ways so I would really hate to not get in quite a few large flocks. Or maybe Friday and Saturday can focus on small and mid-size with Sunday being all about big-ways. Of course at a minimum the sunset dive every day should be a big 'ole flock!
  6. Well...there were at least 3 deliveries of Mach-1's today. freeatlast got his (36 hours "SEEMS" like amazing service? Holy Christ that is amazing!), Justin (PhoenixRising) got his and I got to FedEx a few minutes before they closed to make #3. Justin and I are pretty pumped to do some jumps this weekend if the New England weather holds up....right now it is looking pretty good. We are also booking tix to Florida for next month so we can bang out a bunch of jumps.
  7. Hell ya....I hear he is in. I guess it is not 100% confirmed but I think you can count on it. Sorry to tell you Lurch but you will no longer have the most bad-ass suit in New England. The M1's have arrived! My suit is on a FedEx truck in South Boston right now and Justin is getting his tonight as well. Wanna fly at CPI with us this weekend? Hell yeah....I am psyched.

  9. True true....but we are trying to grow the New England Flock so the more events and visibilty we have the more jumpers we can convert. The idea behind the New England event is to to get all the Northeast WS jumpers together so all the flat-fliers see the flock and say to themselves "Fuck that looks cool...I gotta try that!" I think we need all the things you said (tail gate, beer, food, etc...) just to get the New England birds together! Hopefully we can pull it together because it definitely would be fun. Steve
  10. I am psyched! Will have to drive to CT this weekend if I want to jump it but I can't wait. I may have to do like pierre3636 and ty it on at work next to the bathroom near my equity trading floor
  11. Sweet...thanks! Hopefully the weather holds up.
  12. I see from a post last week that CPI is open all winter....but they evidently were closed last Saturday. Can someone confirm they will be open this coming Saturday (12/16)? Fuck Christmas shopping....I gotta fly my new wingsuit!
  13. Jeff N. just sent me a PM and said my M1 shipped today. Less then 2 weeks from my order date and Tony did some custom work on the leg wing....I will post a pic as soon as I get it. Now I have to book another trip to FL so I can get some jumps on it!
  14. I am probably not the best person to comment because I have not flown other high end suits...but I think the Mach-1 was phenomenally easy to fly. After two full days of jumping it my arms were a little sore but during the jumps it did not take a tremendous amount of strength or effort to max it out. I think you will start seeing a lot of 'em real soon!
  15. I have about 100 total WS jumps and did about 15 on the Mach-1 and absolutely loved it. No problems at all at pull time or with controlling the suit. Prior to that all my flights were on a GTI or another Tony suit the "Acrobat". I did do a bunch of 1 on 1 training jumps with Jeff N. which gave me the confidence to give the Mach-1 a try....and now I am definitely glad I did. The suit is awesome and mine should be here soon!
  16. How many U.S. wingsuiters attended last year? It looks like 3 were on the 69 way....how many others were at the boogie? Is "www.mdskydive.de" the only web-site with info on this boogie? ...the English translation option does not appear to be working. I am trying to get as much info on this boogie as possible as I want to get my vacation plans locked in and recruit some other Northeast birds.
  17. Definitely interested....coming from Boston.
  18. Many thanks to all the Z-Hills wingsuiters for some great jumps and for welcoming me to the flock. I had a great time and will be down again soon with some other Northeastern birds who are kind of cooped up until spring time. A special thanks to Jeff for spending a ton of time with me and teaching me more than I ever imagined I could learn in a week. It was also awesome to fly the Mach-1. What a great suit. Oiy! P.S. Thanks Manny for the Chopter ride.
  19. Anyone know if there is any jumping in Turks and Caicos? I have found many gerneral references to Skydiving in Turks and Caicos but no information on DZ, location, etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve
  20. Very cool! When I was trying to figure out what DZ to go to for some Wingsuiting I picked Skydive City specifically because it is so wingsuit friendly. I plan on 3 or 4 trips this winter (from Boston) so thanks in advance Skydive City for creating a great WS environment!
  21. Thanks for the info. I just saw the post about the new "Birdcage" at Skydive City for Wingsuiters...Awesome! I think I made the right choice about where to go
  22. I am a relatively new wingsuit jumper and will be at Skydive City next Wednesday (11/22) for 5 days. I am looking for an experienced bird who I can do a bunch of coaching jumps with. I have about 45 or 50 WS jumps and most have been small flocks (3 to 6 ways). As I have not had much time yet to focus on certain skills like max time and distance I think some 1 on 1 coaching jumps would be very beneficial. I am looking to do 15 or 20 jumps with a coach the first few days I am there and then join the flock on the weekend. Please send me a PM or post some info on who I can arrange this with. I sent a note to Chuck but I believe he is out of the area for a while. Thanks, Steve P.S. I just read the "Direction of Wingsuiting" thread (wow!) and see that there is a little controversy about charging for WS training. I am definitely willing and happy to compensate someone who can help me accelerate my learning and make me a better and safer flocker....so I will be there cash in hand gladly willing to pay someone who can help get me prepared for Flock 'n Dock and other large WS events
  23. You've got to be kidding me.... the exact same fucking thing just happened to me!!!! My iPod is 13 months old and 4 days ago it shit the bed. I also am getting the little sad iPod frowny face when I try and turn it on. I only ever use it at the gym and it has never been dropped or exposed to "the elements". I brought it back to the Apple store where I bought it to see if it could be fixed but of course this wasn't an option. Sucks for me too because I really rely on it to motivate my ass at the gym. Thinking about buying a portable XM radio instead of another IPOD..... For all the shit Microsoft gets I am surprised that Apple doesn't get beaten down every now and then for crap like this.
  24. The Kenmore HE4T is phenomenal. I did a lot of research a year ago when I bought both the washer and drier and many sources, including consumer reports as you mentioned, rated it as the best. I have had other high end machines in the past but this particular model is really the best. Everyone I know that bought a Neptune has had issues with it although I hear the quality control problems have recently been corrected....if you want to buy a Neptune make sure it is an altimiter!
  25. Great weekend of flocking at Pepperell. Saturday we had some nice 5 and 6 ways and Sunday saw the first ever 8 way flock at Pepperell. If I hadn't gone to the Pats game we would have had a 9 way! Oh well...there is always next weekend. So congrats to Reed, Ted, Rich, Ricardo, Ken, Justin, Nik and Lurch (who is psyched to finally be flying his new S6) on the 8 way...let's get a couple more and make it 10! Current forecast for Saturday is sunny and nice.
