  1. very nice....not quite going to make me run and buy some Becks but loved the commercial.
  2. Easy! http://icingphoto.com/ http://www.icingimages.com/
  3. Can you make a living? Not really. If you use the search feature you can find a ton of old threads about this topic. Take some time reading through them and decide if you really want to think about trying to make a career out of skydiving. Some do....BUT I think most people find that continuing a non-skydiving career and jumping as a hobby is a wiser choice.
  4. All finished? The scores posted on the wingsuit comp website are final? I may have missed it....are the vidoes of the comp jumps posted anywhere?
  5. Did you speak with the DZO? That is total bull shit for that ass-hole to tell you that "he doesn't make the rules I do". If the guy who told you that is the owner or manager tell him that you are taking your business elsewhere....if not perhaps the prick with the ego trip can be talked to and told to be a little friendlier to jumpers who are paying good money to jump there. Newer jumpers shouldn't be expected to figure out which instructors or staff members to listen to....it is not up to you to figure out their DZ politics and power structure. Jesus Christ....this DZ sounds like a piece of work.
  6. Syesha Mercado--Vanishing David Cook--Always Be My Baby Carly Smithson--Without You Brooke White--Hero Jason Castro--I Don't Wanna Cry Kristy Lee Cook--Forever David Archuleta--When You Believe and yup...I think Chris is right with this: Bottom 3: Carly, Syesha and Brooke.
  7. That first list (Eloy,Perris Valley,Z-Hills,Deland, Skydive Chicago, the Ranch) looks accurate. If you go in the middle of the summer I think Skydive Chicago is going to be one of your best bets given the weather and the amount of jumping activity. Keep an eye out in Skydiving and Parachutist (or DZ.com calendar) for big boogies....those are worth traveling to as well and are not always at the biggest DZ's. Lost Prairie in Montana is sweet as an example.....
  8. Found it....it is called "Declaration of fitness to parachute". http://www.bpa.org.uk/forms/docs/Form%20114%20-%20Declaration%20of%20Fitness.pdf ....looks like you need to have this signed if over 40 and then renewed every 2 years until 50 and then every year when 50 or older! There is also a note that says "...No person under the age of 16, or over the age of 55 years will be permitted to carry out initial 'solo' parachute training....". Wow.
  9. from post 1191: >>What does "LE Surprise Party" refer to???
  10. Have you checked out Flight 26 yet? Awesome.
  11. I'd buy one too....would be cool to have in our bird house.
  12. Pink nail polish to match the wingsuit?
  13. ...that's all right....New Hampshire is a couple hundred yards down the runway so if we run out in Massachusetts we can just head over to NH. Too funny!
  14. WTF is that? Is it Jeff doing his toilet bowl thing? He wasn't on many flocks because he was teaching.....but it looks like it might be him.....
  15. Good news Safe...they are hiring! WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The FBI needs more than 1,000 new agents, intelligence analysts and support staff, bureau Director Robert Mueller told House members Tuesday. Mueller is appearing on Capitol Hill to push for a $450 million budget increase to capture DB Cooper, expand the bureau's ability to combat terrorism, spying, and other national security threats. ....OK OK I added in the DB Cooper part.
  16. From their MySpace page: Skydive Baltimore will be opening its doors in the Spring of 2008 at Harford County Airport in Churchville Maryland. We have approvals now from Airport ownership and are currently working on facilities. We are currently developing the contracts for securing our aircraft for our opening season. We will have a Cessna 182 for sure full time and ready to go on a moments notice, however, we have worked out agreements to get Twin Otter coverage for "Planned" larger dive weekends this season. DZO's Brent Kluge and Flora Uragallo will be staffing up for the season in the next month or so. If you are interested, please let us know. Our vision is to have a fully functional and fun DZ centered around promoting the sport of sport parachuting. If you are licensed jumper, a student, want a tandem ride or just want to come out and see what the hub-bub is all about, please join our friends and we will keep you in the loop for developments in the near future. Our website will be operational soon and I will send out an announcment when we are off the ground. So, Please help us to spread the word about bringing skydiving to beautiful state of Maryland. Thank you and can't wait to see everyone in the Spring, Brent & Flora
  17. There is a thread in the events and places to jump forum: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3072491;search_string=Flora;#3072491 DZO's Brent Kluge & Flora Uragallo (of TonySuits) are pleased to announce the opening of a new dropzone, Skydive Baltimore!! We will be located just north of the city off of I95 in Churchville MD @ Harford County Airpark (aka Wright/Simmons Airfield). Although we are limited with the startup aircraft we will have( Cessna 182/206 fulltime) we hope to get an Otter by the middle of this season, but that will be dictated by the interest and how quickly we grow our local DZ. Our intention is not to build a tandem factory. Our belief in the future of skydiving is in fostering new interest and in welcoming new students into the sport. We will have all necessary facilities when the doors open in the spring, Office, Hanger for all skydivers w/ seating & video, snack shack, gear shop, shower/bath facilities, camping area (electric soon coming), and many other new developments. Although we will not have a bar or swoop pond, we will have one very soon. We do not have dates yet but will also have a couple dates you may be interested in. First will be an opening boogie! We will have an Otter for the weekend and hope to introduce everyone to real Maryland Skydiving. This site is amazing with incredible views of the upper Chesapeake and Susquehanna River. Just one hour south of Philly, 30 mins north of Baltimore and one hour north of Washington DC., we will have a great pool of skydivers to really have a showing. Its up to us to make a dropzone with a great vibe and a fun, safe environment. Please sign up to our Myspace page for latest news and developments: http://www.myspace.com/skydivebaltimore We will have our website up and running by the end of this month, so please feel free to check back there as well: www.skydivebaltimore.com One last point of interest, we are currently interviewing people for staffing. If you believe you are qualified, have a friendly smile and professional attitude, please contact us! We would like to talk to you. Blue Skies in Maryland!
  18. ...well, they certainly are not a dime a dozen BUT they are a little more common than that! If you do a search in this forum and narrow it down to the last 2 years you will find 200+ posts with "Balloon" in it. Tons of boogies have balloon jumps....look for ads in the Skydiving rags and you will see them advertised. Good luck in finding one! They are wicked fun
  19. ...horrible. But, as a point of clarification that was a chest mount. I suppose anything is possible but a mud-flap mount would probably be much less likely to cause that one in a million type of problem.
  20. ...yes Lurch, bring a phone but remember...you have to actually take it outta yer pocket and use it! Bad bird....bad bird!!!
  21. The Bonehead Altimeter Mud-Flap Mount is awesome. http://www.boneheadcomposites.com/cammount.htm ...you can find it at many skydiving equipment dealers.
  22. ....wow. For a long time I had been reading every post in the DB Cooper threads because I found them A) amusing and B) very interesting. I stopped reading a few weeks ago when it had gone south. I didn't see the last few posts labrys refers to until today but after looking at them I couldn't believe how rudely Ckret was treated. Absolutely appaling. I really don't get why someone who should have known better was so over the top rude. Geeeez.....
