DSE, Glad you are flying into Manchester....the traffic in Boston is going to be shitty because of the Celts victory parade! On a side note why in fucks sake would you get an exam from an OB-GYN anyway?!? -
That sucks....any pics from an ATM security camera?

nyet.....and don't know if I would want to!

Do a search in the general skydiving forum as a lot of people have posted about ACL tears, surgeries, and recovery times. It took me about 4 months to recover enough to think about jumping. If you do the recommended physical therapy and rehab your recovery will be quicker, less painful, and more complete. Putting off the surgery was an option but I ended up doing it in June and missed that summer and fall of jumping. If you do it in the fall you should be ready to go by spring....

Paid! P.S. to cover the cost of the weather bill either jump or prices are going to have to be jacked up. -

It aint the Taj Mahal but it is not a total hole either. If you want to spend a little more money ($100 to $120) then the Radisson in Nashua is the best choice. It is a very nice hotel and used to be a Sheraton Tara. I think you will be OK at the Motel 6 which is probably around $60 a night....but if you want upgraded accomodations and nicer amenities then go with the Radisson. See you this weekend! -

Congrats to Monica Ballus who did her first 3 flights last weekend at Pepperell. She absolutely nailed it and is excited about doing more jumps, learning more next weekend at our little get together, and getting on some bigger flocks.

..sounds fun. Think I am going to have to try and make this boogie next year. Date's didn't work out this year but this would be a good reason to finally book a nordic vacation. Post some pics!

yep...that's 'bout what he looks like when he gets to the DZ before noon and hasn't had his java yet.

Yes....these bills were just a portion of what was found. The auction says Brian Ingram owns 84 bills and fragments (now it is 69 as 15 were sold today). From ha.com: "Fifteen of the $20 denomination bills will be offered to the public for the first time in the upcoming auction. His decision to sell the notes was made several weeks before the recent discovery of what may be the skyjacker's parachute. The coincidental timing couldn't be better," said Ivy.
-
Auction is over. The 15 bills went for a total of about $38,000 with the top 5 going for between $3,346 and $6,572 each. The cheapest one which was just a tiny piece of a bill showing the Federal Reservce letter went for $358. I really wanted one of the more complete bills but my cut-off was $3,000. Oh well.....maybe I will bid on the canopy when it is found.
-
Damn dude, flying a wingsuit over the White House would get you a record all right....a prison record (that is if you don't get shot out of the sky!).
-
Anyone in on the auction today for the Cooper cash? The 5 bills that are in the best shape (there are about 15 all together but some are just tiny little pieces) are currently in the range of $2,800 to $5,500. These bids are from internet bidding which closed last night. The live auction is happening in a couple of hours. I was hoping to grab one of them but the prices undoubtedly will rise when the live auction starts so I may have to pull the cord and drop out.

.....yet so far away!

Cal City Otter & C206 at Pepperell, MA
skyjumpsteve replied to ZigZagMarquis's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
...and what was really cool was the host doing an interview plane to plane between the Otter and the 206! The massive HD cam and camera crew was in the 206 and host was leaning out the door of the Otter (with rig on being held by a "handler") talking about the 8 way Wingsuit jump we were about ready to do. Then as we exited the 206 dove with us and got the flock forming. We had a few nice puffies so the shot should be very cool. We will post the air date and times...should be late Aug. -

Other than Logan I think the only other good option is Manchester NH which is served by a few large airlines (Continetal, Delta, NWA, Southwest, and United). Manchester would be a little quicker than Logan if you can get a good flight......but if you have to fly into Logan it really isn't a bad drive to Pepperell and the new tunnels that are part of the Big Dig project have really helped get the traffic to and from Logan more efficiently..... -

Pepperell is a little less than an hour from Boston and is easy to get to. If you fly into Manchester (Southwest and a few others) it is about half an hour from the DZ.
