Yes drones seem to very effective,yet poor poverty stricken people still seem to put up pretty good resistance with small arms and explosives. Unless a military force is willing blast a territory into oblivion,it seems it is very difficult to control said territory if there is a pissed off and armed population willing to fight back. If some nut opens fire on you and others, and you have no firearm to fight back,then you are a sitting duck. Even if you do have a firearm,the nut has the advantage for sure,but just because he shoots you,even repeatedly,it does not mean you are automatically killed or even left helpless. You may still have a chance if you can shoot your weapon. There are many,many,many examples of humans being shot with everything from 12 gauge shot guns to full auto machine guns,who not only survived being shot,but were actually able to shoot and kill the person or persons who shot them first. This has happened in war,in law enforcement,in self defense. Guns have a high level of lethality for sure,but they are not even close to 100% lethal,or even gauranteed to stop an attack if the threat is determined. Hell recently that goergia woman shot that guy FIVE times in the face at point blank and he was still able run down to his car and drive off,and he is still alive! Well over 100,000 people die every year directly from acute medical mistakes in the US. This does not include the bigger number of people who have their quality of life, and life expectancy reduced by medical mistakes. How many mistakes are made in regard to mental and emotionally ill people? They seem to be in the heat of the debate.

They want to eliminate the ability of the citizens of the US to resist the government with any effectiveness. This has taken place many times throughout the history of civilizations around the world. For a few examples-The romans would take away all the swords,spears,arrows of conquered people and then force them to to pay taxes,or force them into military service,or slavery. The Japanese ruling class also outlawed all weapons from the hands of the average person so that there would be less chance of revolt against the tyranny of the rulers. The english tried to eliminate the Scots ability to resist in order to oppress them into servitude(Braveheart). The nazis and hitler were better able to set up their 3rd reich after germany's gun control actions left people without the effective means of resistance. It's often said that history repeats itself.

I for one would vote for a candidate who was endorsed by the NRA. I do not care how you try to inject some crap poll stats from Raleigh,NC to try and make it sound like the NRA has lost all it's support from the majority of US citizens. Almost every person I have talked to in washington and oregon has not only stated their support for the NRA but many have given donations in excess of their yearly dues in support of the NRA. How about the footage of the female resource officer preventing the gunman from proceeding further into the school, that took place a couple of years ago? Do you think she could have stopped him without her hand gun pointing at him? Without her gun,that guy could have got past her with no resistance at all. Instead she chased him out to the waiting police who killed the piece of shit.

Then why are there armed guards at many private schools including the school attended by President Obama's children? The public schools seem to be the ones being targeted. You give one example of incompetence regarding a guard leaving an UNLOADED weapon in the bathroom of one school. Did this unloaded weapon lead to a tragic incident? I've never heard of a resource officers gun being used against innocents,yet I've seen a video of a female resource officer holding off an armed bad guy in a school setting,most likely saving the lives of children. I know personaly three policemen who have shot themselves from accidental discharge,does this mean we should do away with cops having guns? Should we get rid of cops because sometimes (rarely)they go batshit crazy and kill there wife and pets?

There are many private schools like the ones where the Obama girls attend school that use armed gaurds. Now I know alot of people will say that this is because they are the children of politicians,the wealthy,ect,and because of their parents positions or wealth they are at greater risk of being attacked,but it seems that the poor kids in the public schools are the ones who are getting abducted,molested,and shot. So why not give public schools armed guards and better security, as it seems they are just as much at risk,if not more so it seems, than the rich kids who attend private schools are.

If I recall,the guy was not legal to have any firearms.
