  1. 1928 the liberal Weimar party controlled government enacts extensive gun registration laws in germany. 1938 november 8th the nazis use gun registry to confinscate firearms starting first with the jews. 1938 november 10th the nazis began the round up of jews which would lead to the holocaust, and the nazis continued to use gun registries to confiscate guns not only in germany, but across europe. 1941 US attorney general Robert Jackson pushes for gun registry in the US and meets heavy resistance from congress, and as the world watches the spread of tyranny across europe, the nazis use each fallen countries gun registry to squash any chance of well armed resistance. The US congress takes measures to further strengthen the 2nd amendment and Jackson loses favor. This is recent history, just 75 years ago, thats one lifespan.
  2. Wow,some of these folks are getting mean. Maybe they should have a snickers bar or something.
  3. Yea, I bet those drone operators sit there and eat doritos and drink mountain dew while they do their jobs. I'm still in a state of disbelief about this.
  4. What an insult to all those who have been placed in harms way to protect and serve our country.
  5. I never said double barrels were obsolete or no longer had a niche in the shooting world. And hell yes you can drop some serious coin on double barrel guns, but in most situations, and for most people the semi auto and pump guns are preferred over double barrels. I have seen some extremely nice over unders and alot of less expensive side by sides, but have never shot either. Most of my shotgun experience has been with 20 gauge and 410 single shots on turkey, grouse and quail, but they can't shoot back,or charge at you with big horns,or claws and teeth. I'm more of a rifle guy when it comes to long guns anyway.
  6. >Really? Why? Who knows what might happen? There could be projactiles flying in all directions, and since I'm a big guy,I stand a bigger chance of catching some of them.. Seriously though,it could get nuckin futs around here.
  7. You are right about one inch per yard. But a while a dinner plate size pattern, say ten-fourteen inches is not my exaggerated wall of lead,it is still bigger than I would want. I like pistols up close, and that is just my preference. If someone likes shotguns better then they should use one. If you like AR15's better, then you should use one of those. My point in this thread is that there is no one best weapon for all situations,or needs, and Biden has not a clue about what he is talking aboutas we already know. If the double barrel shotguns were the best, then thats all anyone in any situation would ever want or need, including LE or secret service body gaurds.
  8. >Are you"good and thus need a different parachute than your average pilot? Hmmm,I've never thought of using a parachute for self defense before, but I guess you could find some way to suffocate someone or strangle them with it. If they had a knive,or gun,or were just far bigger, stronger, and more athletic than you were, then they might just hold your own chute against your head and rape your wife while you watch though. I think using a gun is far easier than using a parachute.
  9. >but a cop uses his gun differently that homeowners do. Not really, they point and squeaze the trigger. The big issue is why use a pump if the double barrel is better? The answer is that the pump action shot gun holds more rounds, and is from my experience, easier to wield than big old long ass double barrel shotguns are. These are the same reasons most people prefer pumps over double barrel for hunting, defense,or sport shooting. I would love to own a nice 12 gauge pump, but I would still prefer my pistol, because it is far easier to use in close quarters, and I do not want to shoot someone who is say at the end of a long hallway, unless they are holding a gun as well,or are advancing on myself or others. If a home invader is advancing on another person in the house, say across the living room, then using a 12 gauge of any type could quite possibly hit both the perp and the innocent person. Hand guns are far less powerful, but are also far better at placing fire onto specific targets and not hitting evrything close with a wall of lead. Just my preference, and once again I hope I will never have to actually fire my weapon at someone.
  10. >Because they don't use there weapons to protect themselves. They use them to protect their principals. You are making a pun right, because cops use their weapons to protect themselves as they enforce the law. If a perp doesn't use threat of deadly force when interacting with the cops, then the cops are not suppose to shoot them in selfdefense. But as we both know cops make mistakes, and blaze away on unarmed people, like the women in the pickup delivering papers in california who were mistaken for the ex cop nutcase.
  11. If thats what Granny likes, then thats what Granny should have. But if Granny wants an AR15 then she should have one of those as well. A 223 cal round would be better at getting small varmits for the stew pot as they would be far less likely to obliterate the critters like a 12 gauge would. I loved that show! My favorite episode was when Jethro played Robin Hood in the park and ran into the hippy bikers.
  12. >I'm paying attention to the hypocrisy of the OP. The hypocrisy is in Bidens stement. If you are trying to paint the OP with hypocrisy, because in another thread someone said a 12 gauge pump shot gun is good for defense, then you do not know much about guns. A double barrel shot gun holds two rounds and the Remington 870 holds seven rounds, and as mentioned many times, the sound of the pump action is distinct and would make anyone who knows that sound very nervous if not fill them with sheer terror. The double barrel shotgun has no pump action and makes far less noise, and the sound is far less distinctive. The only time the two make the same sound is when they are discharged. If the double barrel is the best then why don't LE or the secret service employ them. Hell I do not know anyone who would by a double barrel shotgun for self defense unless that is all they could afford. I personally prefer a high capacity 45 acp for home defense because they are much easier to wield in tight quarters, and though not as big and powerful as a 12 gauge pump shotgun, they are still very effective at close range, and I'm good at using one.
  13. Yea,I know, they use as many as they have room to position. I was being sarcastic when I said a few snipers,as we know they cover every possible angle and position.
  14. Yea I would not want to kill someone over theft either. Hell,I don't ever want to have to kill anyone for any reason. You are right though,if someone is in your house uninvited they are apt to be a very dangerous threat to anyone they encounter. I would only use deadly force if they closed within an unsafe distance to myself or others in the residence,or made threats with a weapon. It sucks that on top of the bad feelings that any good person might experience after having to kill someone in self defense, that you would have to be put through so much more, while most criminals show no remorse or regret for anything except being caught.
  15. Good job dude! I've been ripped off twice while away from the pad, and on one occasion lost about $3000 in tools and another $1200 in electronics, and had to fix the busted door and the jam as well. I have had a carjacker in philly quickly change his mind when he seen that I also had a gun, and it was aimed at him(I had dark tint and could see him coming). Having someone invade your residence while you are home would be pretty freaky.
  16. Is the intruder a hot chick or some nasty looking bum? I'm asking because of the boobie option. To be serious,I would take the option where the perp runs away empty handed with a shit stain in his pants because he had just taken a look down my gun barrel, but otherwise unharmed.
  17. I checked some stats for the last 10 years and on average there where 4814 homicides without guns. On average 13594 homicides using firearms,52% on average, or 7070 were self inflicted gunshot deaths,so on average 6525 were murders. That means on average there were about 25% more murders using guns than without guns, but many experts believe there are far more violent attacks without guns, and that many of these attacks result in permanent debilitating injury to the victims(permanent brain injuries, spinal injuries, loss of vision, permanent organ damage, permanent psycological trauma, ect)from rape, robbery,or unprovoked assaults. Stay safe out there, and don't do anything risky, like walk around pahokee at night.
  18. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of gun owners in the US are against all violence. You always focus just on the gun violence, yet most violence in the US is commited without guns. It is true guns are easy to use, which is why they are good for weaker and more vulnerable people for use in self defense, but a club, axe, or big knife,or 6 pairs of hands and feet, is just as effective at inflicting severe damage to the body. What do you think would do more damage to your head,a hand gun bullet,or a well swung 10 pound splitting maul or sledge hammer. How about an 8 inch blade hanging out of your chest compared to a 9mm round. Like I've said before, you are a good guy,but sometimes not very realistic. Guns are eaqualizers as far as weapons go. As to the original post,I would hate to shoot or attack anyone,LE or military, but who knows what kind of situations the future may hold. If things fell apart, say from a massive natural disaster,or sociial and economic collapse then who knows what one might be faced with. Once again,I know you are a good human being and you truly want to end violence, but guns do not create violence, living things do,and mainly people.
  19. >As compared to Europe, where riot/protest are the rule? Lobbyng malotov cocktails at law enforcement is a sport over there. It's probably from all that steroid infused horse meat over there. They are all feeling that rage, along with a little enhanced performance in the bottle pitching events.
  20. You guys have cookies? How about milk? I don't want to hold hands with any marxist without hand sanitiser. But I might make an exception for chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and ice cold milk.
  21. Well I guess that is one way to look at it. My problem is in Biden telling anyone what they need or should use. I mean looking down the receiving end of a double barrel shotgun would probably be sufficient to scare the shit out of me while I ran away like the fasted track star the worlds ever seen, but I'm not the type to be sneaking around your house either. The warning shots advice was definitely retarded for sure. I personal feel most women could easily handle a AR15 with far less trouble than a big heavy 12 gauge double barrel shot gun. I can see your point though.
  22. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but it's rainy and windy, and I am extremely bored, and Quades snide remarks are rather amusing along with his lack of knowledge about the rem 870, which is a pump and holds seven rounds compared to the DOUBLE barrel. I had some funny images in my mind of these secret service agents standing next to Biden with these huge 26 inch double barrel shotguns before starting the thread. Don't get me wrong,I am serrious about what the law makers are trying to do to our rights and feel that any gun rights advocates should stay acutely aware of such. So here we are.
