Having coaches video AFF jumps
steveorino replied to mattyblast's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
At our DZ you got two choices. If your coach or instructor doesn't have a camera helmet (none of ours do) you pay my slot slot. I'll dump raw footage on your tape (mini DV, DVD, disk or VHS) for nada. Or hire me as a coach and I take camera helmet and debrief with it; no charge. steveOrino -
Crazy Phil, you get to follow two good looking women! WhooHoo! steveOrino

steveorino replied to StevePhelps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well, he is a loveable kind of guy in a grumpy old man way. Sort of like Walter Mattheau was in "Grumpy Old Men" steveOrino -

Best shots of Instructors EARNING Thir money
steveorino replied to steveorino's topic in Instructors
Russell. I don't know how many times guys do this on the tandem jumps. And of course they always do it with 140# TM! Made me work my 220# butt off to stay below them! steveOrino -
I can only pray we are not kin. Our own Bil Cole (Chuteless) feels the same about God's judgment on America. (see his thread in SC on Osama) We (USA) are too sinful ... according to his interpretation of the KJV. steveOrino

My DZO requested I changed the music on ours. I guess the song, "Shout" was a little 60s. New promo with different footage is at: www.Xtreme-visuals.com/SDA-Promo-06C.wmv steveOrino

I once comtemplated a Felix the Cat tattoo - but heard it was some how associated with the LSD subculture (???) and decided against it - for now - Know anything about that? I was 5 in 1960 when Felix was on. I didn't do LSD that young. Remember SPACE GOST? JOHNNY QUEST? steveOrino

you mean Tennessee Tuxedo?? Yeah, he was a penquin. Thanks for the correction. It's been a while. steveOrino

Anyone Familiar with the Sony DCR-HC21 ??
steveorino replied to goose491's topic in Photography and Video
I own three HC20s (last year's model of the HC21) I now own a HC40 and I notice the difference. You can buy an HC20 on Ebay between $125 - $150. Don't pay more than that. You can buy an HC40 for about $300 on Ebay ... a better investment. steveOrino -
The forum rules desire you not to double post. But we'll cut you some slack. Althouh the 'greenies (moderators) might not. steveOrino

All right, I'm no photographer, but I found out that works for me 99% of the time is the auto features. I use the sport auto feature (looks like a guy running) on sunny days. I use TV 320 or so on cloudy days and full auto (green square) on sunset loads. Check out my stills on my website and you will see it works pretty good. steveOrino

Here is ours: www.skydiveairtight.com/SDA-Promo-06A.wmv It is about 80 seconds long and it is on every student video. It is obviously geared toward them (AFFs & tandems). I do a new promo every 4-6 months or so. steveOrino

IMHO the place for cool special effects is in a trailor or the intro - 15-30 seconds. You can try for that cool look there and it gets everyone's attention. After that it needs to be "invisble" as so many said. But don't be arfaid to do some cool editing with the title and first 20-30 seconds to get their attention. JMHO steveOrino

I got there at 11:30 and you weren't there! steveOrino
