  1. Reminds me when I shaved (bic) my kid's hair one day. steveOrino
  2. There will be a page up this month. Little hint ... they arrive. steveOrino
  3. What method of instruction are you using? I began with IAD. I was not arching enough or dearched at pull time a few times. I too had 13 jumps and was thinking after a on-my-side pull "I have over 100 military jumps, I haven't nothing to prove. I don't need this!" I told another friend of mine who was jumping at a different DZ about this. He recommended I come there I did. The primary method Skydive Airtight uses is AFF. I switched to AFF and never had a serious problem or anxiety after that. The low altitude learning (IAD) was not for me. steveOrino
  4. Okay, my granddaughters are in AK (I'm in OK). I want to be able to see them more than once or twice a year. Can I purchase two webcams for me and my daughter's family and be able to talk to each other in somewhat real time? If so, what should I buy and what do I need besides the broadband hook up? steveOrino
  5. it was quite a ride! Actually, the student finally got stable and was able to proceed. Made for an interesting video though! steveOrino
  6. Bob! Did you do this Sunday? I didn't hear you talking about it Saturday. Congrats anyway!
  7. Bill, do you have a time frame? You said soon ... any dates? steveOrino
  8. Okay, not my best, but my most recent. Let's see pictures of those instructors EARNING their money! steveOrino
  9. I know it is spam, but how do you get rid of it? Report to cox.net, my email provider? I have Norton, Ad-ware, and others nothing stops it. steveOrino
  10. Anbody else get these weird emails? I've tried every way I know how to stop them. I get 2-3 everyday. They usually deal with home loans and all of them have some gibberish on the bottem. I block each particular sender, but more arrive every day. Here is an example below ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dear HomeOwner, Your credit doesn't matter to us! 11. It seems Christ did. He loved people, but used "Hebrew humor" (exageration). like "strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel" -- "Looking for the spec in your brothers eye, while you have a log in yours". steveOrino
  12. I could be mistaken, but I believe both Falwell and Robertson initially said 9-11 was God's judgment until that proved too unpopular. A prophet doesn't want to lose his TV audience and $ support. steveOrino
  13. I usually don't venture into SC much. Too much bashing and arguing for me. But what we have here is another Pat Robertson! So according to your theology, 9-11 was God's using Osma as judgment against the USA. You, Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwall, nice company. steveOrino
  14. Born and raised in Texas, the only one I ever even heard of was "This ain't my first rodeo". Now, my mom did say "a mouse in a cookie jar isn't a cookie" usually referring to people who called themselves Christians (or attended church) but didn't act like one (meaning: being kind and generous). She also was found of saying, "ya never know", "it's always something", and "if it ain't one thing, it's another". steveOrino
  15. AV gas (aviation fuel) smells like glue to me. Maybe that is it. steveOrino
  16. Got 20 by myself in about 40 minutes.
  17. I voted dork, but I could not care less if someone thought I looked like a dork. You like -- wear it! steveOrino
  18. I haven't seen the first 2 seasons. My wife loved it, but I didn't want to get hooked on some dumb tv show. In season three I did. I was able to catch on, but of course, I was watching it with someone who had seen them all, and I could ask questions if I was confused. steveOrino
  19. The same could be said about walking across the street to get a beer. You get hit by some dude driving on the side walk! Was it worth it? Kind of a stupid question ... IMHO. edited to add ++++++++++ I sound to harsh to your question. I didn't mean to. I guess I'm not too fond of over analyzing the "what if" in every situation. As I said in a different post... Mitigate risks, and enjoy life! steveOrino
  20. Just some more info for you ... calling anyone here a skygod will not be received well. Skydiving is a SMALL community. steveOrino
  21. old show: Hill Street Blues new show: 24 steveOrino
  22. Taking the high road, eh Dave? Honestly I know it gets exasperating to keep saying the same thing to newbies who always think they're different from every other skydiver who wanted to strap a camera on his head, but saying what you said can invalidate your good warning. I think of posts like his (especially where he insinuates that those vidiots posting on dropzone.com are not as good as those who don't post here regularly) as an indication of his immaturity. Not just in skydiving, but in every aspect. Let's don't let him drag us down his path. Not that is all I got to say about that. steveOrino
  23. I voted yes, but I don't skydive BECAUSE of the danger. Like riding my Harley, I know it could kill me if I'm careless (Or if someone else is careless). I mitigate the risks as much as I can by being the safest I can. I don't want to go through life not doing something because it is "risky" Geesh, my mom died at 54 from breast/bone cancer, and my dad at 60 from heart disease brought on my diabetes. I'm almost 51 (Jan 26) I put a gap in my jumping from my Airborne days (1977-1980) until 2000 to raise 4 kids. Now I'm enjoying what I do and I make a few good $ too. Mitigate the risks -- and enjoy life! steveOrino
  24. Sure it does. There is an Anvil behind each shot.
